The Dahlia Inn and Suites
Hi all! My yard is infested with these red ants. They bite and have large and small workers. They are actively hollowing out my poor Dahlia. I’ve been repeatedly told they don’t do this or if they do, they are aphid farming but I see no aphids under leaves or in the hollowed stems. I’m getting some pesticide and diatomaceous earth to try and tamp down the colony(s?). Have any of you experienced this or know what ant species this is (central coast CA)?

Lumasi Stacks set
Hi beauties!!
This was my first ever festival experience and I was honestly having a bit of a rough go in the beginning. I had a bit of overwhelm/overstimulation trying to fit all the right things in, was trying to recover from a full on heat stroke I had on Friday, had many bloody noses, wasn’t being familiar with 90% of the artists, being faced with multiple bouts of unkind people in the crowd shoving in front of me without acknowledging my existence.
I wasn’t sure I was feeling it… but decided to really go for it Saturday evening, and by the grace of Gaia ended up at the Lumasi set and that shit gave me life! Not a lot of people are talking about that set and it was hands down my favorite! Shout out to the rad people in that crowd too, really turned around my outlook (especially that awesome steampunk chick I bumped into, don’t know who you are but love you!). I ended up having a good time the rest of the festival. I learned so much and am excited to do it better next time <3
