I decided to buy WhatsApp Plus (Meta's official subscription, not the old mod APK) to see if it's actually worth paying for.

After using it for a while, here's my honest opinion.

For around ₹79/month, you get:

Premium themes

•14 custom app icons

•Exclusive sticker packs

•Premium ringtones & notification sounds

•Better chat organization

•Ability to pin more chats

The only features I found genuinely useful were the improved chat organization and the ability to pin extra chats. Everything else is mostly cosmetic. They're nice to have, but they don't really change the overall WhatsApp experience.

What disappointed me is what the subscription doesn't include:

No better privacy or security

No AI features

No better voice or video calls

No larger file-sharing limits

No extra cloud storage

No ad-free experience

For me, the free version of WhatsApp already does almost everything I need. Right now, WhatsApp Plus feels more like a customization pack than a true premium upgrade.

My rating: 5/10.

I don't regret trying it, but I probably wouldn't renew unless Meta adds features that genuinely improve productivity, like AI tools or other meaningful upgrades. 1 month trial is free.

One thing I really hope is that Meta keeps core WhatsApp features free. Premium subscribers can get extra customization or bonus features, but regular feature updates shouldn't end up locked behind WhatsApp Plus.

My opinion: Right now, it feels more like a customization pack than a premium upgrade. The extra pinned chats and chat organization are genuinely useful, but most other features are cosmetic.

If you're a business user or spend hours on WhatsApp every day, you might find some value.

For most people, the free version is still enough.

My rating: ⭐ 5.5/10

I wouldn't pay ₹79/month for it in its current form. If Meta adds AI tools, productivity features, or other meaningful benefits later, I'd reconsider.
