Are there any promising immersive sims being developed?

The only game that looks like it could actually be released sometime soon is RetroSpace. I feel like so many cool looking projects never get finished or are stuck in development hell for decades.

So does anyone know any games that have potential and could get released in the next year?

Also are there any AAA games in development? I think that Arkane studio is making a blade game but im not sure if its going to be an immersive sim.

I'm blown away by how good the original Deus Ex is

I always heard people praise the first Deus Ex, but I was skeptical. I bought the game anyways since it is so cheap, and holy shit I'm just having pure fun. I feel like I'm a little kid again :D

The story is actually really interesting so far, the levels are unique, the mechanics are solid and the game doesn't even feel that clunky.

My only complaint so far is that most of my augments have been pretty boring so far, the only cool thing I have is a drone, but I didn't find a way to use him yet.

TLDR: game good

Anything I should know before playing the first game?

Hello, I am a big fan of immersive sims and I have probably played every modern title in this genre.

So now Im looking into playing some of the older games. I heard that the first Deus Ex game is the best one in the series, so I bough it.

My first question is, what is the best way to play the game? I have the game of the year edition and I installed a kentie launcher to fix the resolution. Is there anything else I should get? Or should I play some of the more extensive mods?

My second questions is, how should i generally play the game? I don't have much experience with old games, so I'm hoping its not going to be too clunky. I played first couple of minutes in the first level and the stealth feels kinda weird? I have a tranq crossbow but when I shoot someone they run around for like 10 seconds before becoming unconscious, so I'm not sure how to play stealth.

Is anybody else unable to do a high chaos playthrough?

I finished every Dishonored game probably 10 times and every time I go for low chaos. For some reason I just really hate getting bad endings in videogames, even after getting the good endings multiple times.

Maybe I'm just autistic or something lol

Can I just beat the game every time with the same strategy?

Hello, I just installed the game and did a couple of runs with bacteria on normal and every time I did the identical strategy and won.

I just infect the whole world and then speedrun lethality.

I was wondering if it gets more strategic with different plagues or higher difficulties?

Anything similar songs to the second part of Fireal?

I absolutely love the last 3 minutes of Fireal and I was wondering if anyone knows any similar songs. It doesn't necessarily have to be from deftones.

I tried getting linux working on two old notebooks I found in my house, and both times it didn't work. Both times a got a similar error, something about that the system not being able to recognize that linux is installed or something like that.

I looked online and tried doing everything but I always got the same error. Its weird because both notebooks were working fine while windows was installed.

Do some laptops just not work with linux? What are the chances that I have the same problem with two different systems?

If anyone wants to try to help me, here is a rundown of what I tried.

Trying to install Linux on an old HP 620 (4GB RAM, Legacy BIOS, 320GB HDD). Every install completes successfully but on reboot I get "Non system disk or disk error" or "Media test failure PXE ROM".

What I've tried:

  • Linux Mint and MX Linux XFCE
  • Default install and manual partitioning with BIOS boot area (1MB) + ext4
  • Disabled PXE boot
  • Switched SATA from AHCI to IDE
  • tried both with UEFI disabled or enabled
  • hard drive first in boot order
  • Hard drive passed BIOS health check

Nothing worked, always the same error.

EDIT: I tried using debian 32bit, and now it works :D
