Finally figured out dream control: Stop "forcing" things and start "expecting" them

I used to wake up almost immediately whenever I became lucid. The second I realized I was dreaming and tried to aggressively force things into existence or trying fly or trying to have fun, nothing worked and I’d just wake myself up.
Recently, I shifted my approach from
forcing to expecting:

How I realized: I noticed my new dream house was way too perfect, jumped off the balcony with zero fear, and confirmed it was a dream.

The "Expectation" trick: Instead of demanding something appear out of thin air, I told myself, "I expect Mario to be around this corner." Turned the corner—boom, he was there. Then: "I expect to follow him to a lavish dinner." It happened. I even tested dream touch by expecting Luigi to show up and give me a head massage, and the sensory feeling was surprisingly realistic.

Refining it: In a second lucid dream, I tried summoning a celebrity crush. The first attempt generated someone who looked like an acquaintance in real life (hell no). So I refined my expectation: "I’m going to keep walking and naturally bump into someone who looks exactly like [X]." Worked immediately. I don't remember how I got awareness in the dream but I know I fell asleep in the same position and kept telling myself to catch the dream out.

Dream logic runs entirely on passive expectation rather than active brute force. I remember trying summon portals or my favorite characters only to be met with an almost comedic silence.

My only remaining issue: Once I get things going, the dream starts fading to grey after a while and I inevitably wake up. I remember years ago that rubbing your hands together worked like a charm for grounding, but what are your go-to stabilization techniques once the fade starts?

Post surgery swelling wrinkles

A lot of surgeries lead to excessive swelling especially in thin areas such as the under eye, leading to wrinkles as the swelling folds as it forces the skin to stretch. I recently under eye fat repositioning and had very very swollen under eyes which led to prominent lines from the swelling and folding. Do any of you know if it's temporary and the extent it which it gets better if at all?

Gift ideas for an Accountant?

Hi! I'm in Hong Kong rn and I'm visiting my Father in law, was wondering for a thoughtful and feasible gift (not too fancy and niche) to buy for him as he's an accountant. Thank you.

A man just followed me to my Airbnb apartment

So this just happened in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, which I just arrived 3 days ago and I’m still a bit unnerved.

I’m 20 and am currently recovering from surgery, so my under-eyes are visibly swollen.

I was walking back to my Airbnb coming to 1 am (it's the first night i went out since i came here) when a guy on a bicycle pulls up in front of me as I'm walking towards my building and to the ground floor.

I noticed he had an open drink can in his bike holder and seemed like he might be drunk or under the influence.

Before we even went inside, he looks right at me and goes, "Woah, you're so swollen."

When the elevator arrives another guy comes out who looked to be the same race greeted him, so in hindsight he probably knew someone around the building.

We both then walked into the building and got into the elevator together. I pressed my floor, but he didn't press a button at all and he seemed "busy" holding up his bike to fit in the elevator to give room and was kind of cut off from the buttons. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, assuming maybe he lived on my floor or was just waiting for me to leave so he could handle his bike and hit his button. When the elevator opened on my floor, he got off with me.

When the elevator opened on my floor, he got off with me.

In this building, my Airbnb hallway is behind a separate locked security gate with only 3 or 4 apartments behind it.

I walked up to the gate thinking, “There’s no way this guy lives in this tiny hallway with a bicycle.” I'm pretty sure one of the tenants were tourists like me and the other was a local so I'm pretty sure he wasn't there.

I unlocked the gate, stepped inside, and left it slightly ajar for the guy to come if he actually lives there while I fidgeted with my apartment door lock which was the first door next to the gate.

The guy stood right outside the gate, rustling through his bag pretending (?) to look for something. My brain told me he was looking for his keys. My gut screamed that something was wrong.

I was struggling to get my key in my door and had a moment of clarity and thought, "If you actually live in this hallway, you have a key and can unlock this gate yourself." I reached back, pushed the metal gate completely shut, locked it on him, rushed into my Airbnb, and slammed and locked my front door.

I heard him complain or something though he seemed to be muttering incomprehensible stuff throughout. He left after and definitely didn't live there and was just following me. I assume now the only thing left was for me to unlock my door.

I'm so shocked, this has never happened to me before and I thought Hong Kong would be safe. I live in London where I believe it's far more dangerous and this has never happened to me before my entire life. It's the first time I'm experiencing such a thing I am genuinely in shock.

I remember thinking it's still dangerous to walk back home late no matter how safe it is considered but thought that since I had a post surgery swollen face and look scary that men would avoid me, how naive I was.

Post surgery Medication question regarding under eye fat transfer

I just had under eye fat repositioning done. I got morning night medication, I don't exactly remember what for but I think it's antibiotics (maybe antibiotic saline) and some pills which some included headaches about 3 pills so I don't remember what they all are. They said I should use eye drops 4 times a day and take the medicine morning and evening.

When I left their lines were closed so I am unable to ask if I am supposed to start the medicine and eye drops on the same day of my surgery and after?

For the people who got the same procedure and thus most likely got same medication, can you let me know please what you were supposed to do? It's night now so I don't even know if I can take the morning ones.

Also I can only see my doctor 3 days after surgery instead of the usual 7 as I'm flying to Hong Kong in 4-5 days which they said would be okay and with the flight being short. Don't know if that's concerning. Also my surgery lasted an hour longer than expected.

Will be posting a review after healing. Thank you the advice.

Consultation red flags or overthinking? Under eye fat repositioning surgery

Hi everyone, I’m planning on getting under-eye fat repositioning at Etonne PS in Korea and wanted opinions from people who have experience with this procedure/clinic.

My consultation went like this:
I had a mini consultation with someone before the actual doctor, which after had to wait about 20-25 minutes to arrive.

When the doctor arrived he explained what was causing my under-eye issue and what they planned to do to fix it by releasing the tear trough ligament.

They didn't push any extra/unnecessary surgeries, which I appreciated as the earlier consultant suggested fat transfer would help colouring, but he said it would help the area around the eye area (malar fat pads) but it wasn't necessary and said my concerns about fat transfer (how the fat lasts, different types of fat) were legitimate and I shouldn't do it if I wasn't sure about it.

They mentioned possible dissatisfaction/limitations (for example, my under-eye area may still look slightly dark afterwards due to the natural thin skin).

However, I had to ask about risks myself — they didn’t really bring them up first. They said bleeding is very rare after the first 24-48 hours and almost impossible unless I got into a physical altercation, but I saw a reddit post where someone had a rare complication from this surgery in this clinic where their eye filled up with blood and blinded them temporarily (hetoma?). The doctor also said flying 5 days
after the surgery would be fine.

The actual doctor consultation was very short (around 10 minutes max). The doctor seemed quite rushed/panting throughout but not in the way that they wanted me to hurry but they themselves just seemed very hurried and out of breathe, they asked if I had any other questions and such. I'm believe he rushed to a surgery after the consultation.

Another thing I’m unsure about:
I booked surgery with a deposit before the surgeon consultation because their spaces for surgery were filling up which I would be running out of time. They also offer a 20% early booking discount for early bookings and reviews but I was going to have to book early anyway, maybe it's offering discounts for early surgery bookings that's weird.

The doctors graduated from SNU (Harvard of Korea), which seems like a good sign, but the clinic doesn’t have many under-eye fat repositioning examples (only around 6–8 before/after cases). I also saw a reddit post or two saying the results were really good, but in general there's not much on this clinic (no outright bad I've seen either as a result of th lack of reviews). On Google they have a 4.8 rating as well.

Should I be concerned?

Any experience with Etonne PS?

My under eye fat repositioning surgery is booked in for the 5th Aug, has anyone had any experience with this clinic or surgery?

Getting under eye fat repositioning

I'm 20 and getting my first surgery for my upcoming birthday! I'm going to Etonne PS and did an early booking. I'm kind of scared and I'll be flying 5 days after the booking (short flight to Hong Kong)

I have puffy dark undereyes due to lack of support (when I pinch it the darkness goes away) I was hoping to fix it as I am tired of using 3 concealers a day for it to not even work.

Any tips? Anything I should be concerned about? I'm lowkey really scared. I chose Etonne because it seems to have good reviews and the doctors went to SNU which is apparently the Harvard of Korea. I booked my surgery before the consultation due to time limits, I know it's stupid, but if I get bad vibes from consultation I guess I'll cut my losses and leave without my deposit.

Kinda worried about not going to a clinic solely/mainly specialised in my area of surgery.

Family property issue in Turkey — should my grandma transfer my mum’s apartment into my name? (UK benefits concern)

Hi everyone, I need some advice about a complicated family/property situation. I'm a 20 year old university student and mum had an apartment in Turkey that was originally under my grandpa’s name. My family situation became messy, and my grandpa mistakenly gave properties to my uncle’s name including my mother's apartment. My uncle is refusing to return other things that belong to my family, but he has said he is willing to give my mum’s apartment back.

My grandma now wants to put the apartment into my name because my mum is married and she is worried that if it stays in my mum’s name, something could happen in the future and it could end up going to someone else.
The problem is I live in the UK and I’m worried about the consequences. If I own property abroad and declare it to HMRC or the relevant authorities, could this affect my eligibility for Universal Credit or other benefits? Would owning an apartment in Turkey count as an asset?

I don’t want to do anything wrong, but I also don’t want my family to lose the property after everything that happened.
Has anyone dealt with owning property abroad while receiving Universal Credit, or know what steps I should take before agreeing to put it in my name? Will they 100% eventually find out if I have property abroad?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Am I too young for under eye fat repositioning?

I'm 20 and I've had eyebags since childhood. I feel as if they stand out decently enough that it would help although it's not dire.

Financing options for surgeries

I wanna come to Korea for surgery but I find that no clinics I've contacted offer financing options and want it only upfront? I have heard people paying in payment plans (e.g. monthly after the surgery) but when I contact the clinic they say they have to pay upfront only, regardless of the price £15k+ or £2k

Does anyone know any clinics that offer financing options? Thanks!

ACT 3 ENDGAME SPOILERS

This is my first ever run and I decimated Nether brain. Used Gale's missiles to bring it down a bit then unleashed Laezel's menacing strike over and over and again, then action surged and did it again. By the time Laezel's turn was over it just died. Same thing happened with Orin she died before it was her turn. Laezel is socracked, it's so satisfying I had to multiclass my Tav to fighter influenced from her. Even though the endgame final boss ended so quick it was saved by how satisfying using Laezel is. BIG UP LAEZEL
