Last big haul for a good while from my LCS. Now I gotta be responsible and save money.

Probably won’t get anything for a good while until I find job. Been unemployed for 2 months with paid leave but now I’m nearing the end of that grace period and I still haven’t even gotten an interview let alone a job offer. I knew it was bad out there… but man is it way harder to get a job than I thought. I might have to bite the bullet get a crappy temp job through a temp agency to get some kind of income.

My Claws of Awaji photo dump journey

I was just gonna do the the DLC and thought I was done with photo mode but it kept pulling me back in

u/thatguy01220 — 1 day ago

Small photo dump, finally beat the game, got the platinum, on to the DLC

Spent less time in photo mode for the second half the game and just focus on finishing it up. Once I cross the 100-120 hour mark I start itching to play something else. Had a lot of fun with this game, sucks they cancelled a lot of future DLC, but happy with what we got. I’m kinda looking forward to a more linear style if the rumors are true for AC Hex, after four main AC titles being 100+ hours each.

Grabbed these at my LCS yesterday

Never really checked the trade wall and was pretty surprised how many epic collections they had of a lot of characters

For Spider-Man 3 you think they should add a walk in arcade with dumb fun mini games like Spider-Man Pizza Delivery?

I was just thinking how I missed old school video games use to have nonsensical bonus game modes, that were just dumb fun post story or just a break from the gameplay loop.

Like imagine you could walk into an arcade but it’s a spider-man theme arcade. You can go up to one machine and play a quick Spider-Man theme mini game.

Spider-Man Bowling - like from the 2002 Spider-Man movie game just modernized.

Pizza Delivery - styled like GTA Ambulance mission. Peter has one pizza this amount of time, don’t do flips to mess up the pizza return to the shop, level 2, you have 2 pizza 2 locations, return level 3, 3 pizza, 3 locations etc, etc.

Spider-Kart - is basically a simplified go kart game maybe styled like bloodborne kart. You pick Spider-Man or a villain, you have 4 power moves when you run over those power up boxes but they’re all simple since it wouldn’t be a super in-depth like Mario-Kart just a dumb fun side thing to do. Front attack like Spider-Man webbing the tire spins them out 3 seconds, side ram like rhino leaning in hitting you or doc oct bring you in and slamming you against his cart cause you to spin out 3 seconds, back attacks/traps Spider-Man web bombs Goblin Pumpkin bombs, then some special attack causing everyone to spin out for 3 seconds.

Spider-Dance - basically just a DDR rhythm game with like 4-5 songs ranging from very easy to very hard. I know this one is a stretch because of licensing music but they did have music in Miles Morales.

Web Shooters - basically a carnival style game targets pop up and you shoot you web.

Kick em’ & Stick em’ - imagine a big room like a batting cage, one wall has bullseye targets with different sizes and points, there’s a group of generic thugs and your goal is to basically web swing kick one of them onto a target or maybe aerial combat them and aim, throw and web them to a target spot on the wall.

I’m sure someone more creative can come up with better ideas than me. I don’t know much about game programming, but I can’t imagine something like Spider-Man Bowling would take up to much time and resources. Especially when you’re just reusing the resources already made. Spider-Kart and Dance I can see being too ambitious.

Mid game photo dump, having a lot of fun so far.

Just explored the whole map, did all side map marker objectives like horse archery, kata, praying at all shrines, exploring all tombs etc. so now that’s left is story and side missions.

It’s kind nuts how good the graphics are in photo mode, this is just a random NPC, zoomed in max.

I got this game last week, finally started messing around in photo mode and saw a group of 4 talking by the road, not an actual conversation just the generic NPC idle in a circle. I zoomed in on their faces to be funny but then I realized that it’s actually pretty damn good for a generic NPC model. I know photo mode enhances character models and stuff, but still the coloring and shading looks really solid. Only thing that looks funky to me is the eyebrow hair and eyelash color look a little off.

The most sassy finale words from an NPC I have ever heard.

Maybe cause I been up all night playing and I’m just sleep deprived, but this gave me a good chuckle.

[Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake] #82 Fun, quick, easy (a little tedious) plat. Definitely need a guide for some parts.

Pretty quick play it says it took me 8 hours but feels more like 10-12 hours. Used a 20 year old text guide which wasn’t bad, I know I coulda used a video but I had more fun personally that way. Will say definitely some BS stuff like the trap floors, or in Metal Gear 2 you have a 9 square mini map you in the center able to see enemy placement in the next screen over. A few time I walk over to the next screen completely empty but as I was entering the room, a guard simultaneously two screens over that I can’t see enters and alarms. I will say I played it easy, I just wanted some light easy arcade fun that was Metroidvania style.

Probably won’t go for any of the Metal Gear Solid platinums. I just wanna play through the series for fun since Metal Gear collection vol 2 is coming out soon.

[GTA: San Andreas] #81 Never played it as a kid, kinda blown away how well it still holds up 67h

It’s honestly crazy how much there is to do in this game and how versatile the gameplay mechanics are. Never played it as a kid cause my parents barely let me play rated T games, so M games was out of the question.

Also my mom was definitely one of those parents who bought into the whole coffee scandal thing back in the day and thought this game was all about hiring, murdering, and abusing prostitutes and that was all there was to the game.

I know the definitive edition is the worst way to experience this game, but I still had a blast nonetheless. Just happy they had some kind of version of it to where I could experience it today. Also I think what really stuck out to me was it wasn’t just one city Los Santos, which before starting it up I thought it was just LS. So seeing San Fierro, Las Venturas, the desert and countryside, running around those three cities and open areas made the world feel massive in the best way. I don’t think I’ll go after any other GTA trophies cause this was also grindy as hell with the 250 collectables, gang turf wars, finding 30 cars and bring them back to boat, 50 taxis fares etc wasn’t terrible but definitely not the highlight of my experience. I would have been happy if they cut all that in half.

Do you think they’ll have an option that lets you keep the tint for the vibes or will these filters be completely removed?

When Oblivion got remastered it not being nearly as vibrant was one of the criticisms. I know some people hate the filters, but for me personally I like them because it sets the mood. I have a feeling it’s not going to have these tints and be more colorful world, taking away the gritty, bleak grimness that Fallout 3 had.

Idk maybe that’s just me and I’m alone in this but was curious does the coloring of the game have an impact on the world to you?

I don’t know why I thought to start reading stories about Thrawn Outbound Flight is where I should start. Now I’m seeing that it is strongly recommended by readers and Timothy Zahn to be reading in published date starting with Heir to the Empire. Now I don’t know anything about this over arching story (or any Star Wars books). So will I be completely lost if I kept reading Outbound Flight then go back to Heir of the Empire? Or will I be okay if I continued reading it and go back to Heir of the Empire?

I just started reading on my lunch breaks. I am very, very, very, slow reader. I have a problem zoning out, getting lost in my thoughts, only to realize I read a couple pages but not paying attention to what I was reading and having to go back a page or two. I read about 20-30 minutes on my lunch break, in 4 of my lunch breaks, I got about 40 pages in. So far I am enjoying the book, I just don’t want to get like 186 pages in and be like “what the heck is going on” because I have zero context on anything or any characters.

Probably going to buy Heir to the Empire box set especially if you guys recommend me hard stopping cause I’ll just be lost if I keep going. Again I have zero context on anything Star Wars books be it legends or new Disney cannon. My knowledge of Star Wars just comes from watching the majority of the TV shows (haven’t gotten to Andor Season 2 yet) and all the movies at least once (remember very little of Sequel trilogy) and played a lot of Star Wars video games.

All the Star Wars books I own right now are Outbound Flight and Thrawn Ascendancy for stuff involving Thrawn.

Outside of Thrawn I got Hard Contact, Rogue, Squadron, Darth Plagueis and Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter.
