With Songkick being bought by AI company Suno, and Bandcamp’s position against AI, I think that the Songkick integration on Bandcamp should switch to another provider.
For years I’ve followed my favorite bands upcoming shows on Songkick. The data on Songkick is also what’s used on the Bandcamp website, for the list of upcoming shows. Now, Songkick has been bought out by Suno, so that all the data will be eaten up by AI
> Yes, Suno is stealing the data we’ve given to Songkick over the years, presumably to create new AI slop that is tailor-made to fit secretly gathered user preferences. But given the new job listing, it goes beyond that. Suno is using the database of over 10 million users’ concert history to enable a “creation-to-discovery” pipeline. In other words, this is to create an infrastructure for AI music to become integrated with live artist touring. At the moment, it remains unclear what this would actually look like in practice.

Given that Bandcamp has a strong anti-AI stance, I think that it should switch to another provider for the upcoming shows data.
As for me, I’ve deleted my Songkick account, I don’t want AI companies having all that info about me. And in this case I _can_ act on the data they will get about me.
