In Heaven's River there's a line that reads:

"We pulled into a town that Ted informed me was named Beetle Juice. No, I’m not kidding, nor did I tweak the translator. It turned out this town’s major industry was a form of liquor made from the excretions of some insect. First, blech!"

Which is exactly what Mead is, an alcoholic beverage brewed from honey, which is the excretion of an insect. I know the line was supposed to be gross, making people think about drinking buck juice, but as humans it's perfectly normal to consume bug juice. We put it in our coffee, our tea, on our pancakes, Make candy from it, and of course Brew alcohol from it.
Honestly given that we only know about brewing with it on Heaven's River, we may consume far more bug juice than the Quinlan's do.

Two things I've noticed an ever increasing number of drivers doing over the last few years that really piss me off, and it's getting more and more common.

1. Why do more and more people feel the need to come to a complete stop before making a right hand turn? Just slow down and keep fucking moving!
   Edit: when they have the right of way.
   they do it at Green lights, they do it before they pull into their driveway, they do it turning onto a township road, etc.

2. Why does it feel like these are the same people that think a yellow light means they're supposed to floor it to get through the light, and they seem to think there's a 1-2 second grace period for a red light.
   I've missed probably 3/4 of my left turn arrows on the way home from work because people seem to think it's ok to keep blowing though the intersection as long as they were "close" when it turned red.

For my older PW2 I used facer and designed a few nice watch faces I like, but with the new WearOS update on my PW4, none of the watch faces I design work correctly on the PW4.
Fonts are the wrong size and overlap
Complications sometimes don't work at all
HR and step counters don't display properly
Etc.
I haven't been able to build a properly working watch face in months and I wanted to see if there are any good alternatives that will run on Linux mint or in a browser.
I tried to use Wine and Watchface Studio but I can't get it working properly and the interface isn't exactly great either.

I don't want it to sound like I'm hiding it, but we're having a private "ceremony" about 2 days drive from where we live in September. But after looking into it we found out it would be way easier to do it locally at the courthouse and just find someone to do the photos with in a few months without having to do all the paperwork in another state.
But, we really did want a private ceremony and both of our families would have insisted on being present if they knew, and if we're going to do it anyway we might as well save money by combining stuff like insurance now.
So in February we scheduled a wedding at the courthouse for today, and we were officially married at 10:50 am!
We don't want to tell our family and friends because we don't want to hear "why didn't you call us?!" But I want to tell someone, so I'm telling y'all lol.

I work with family so I can't tell my co-workers, but she doesn't and they already know why she took the day off.

The voice typing on Gboard used to be a godsend. I wear nitrile gloves a lot for work (mixing paint) and if I need to send a quick message to the boss or a co-worker it was fairly easy to tap the microphone icon and fire off a quick text. The gloves work with a touchscreen but swipe is next to impossible to use with gloves and regular typing could be wildly inaccurate with the gloves on, and using the microphone was preferable to changing and throwing away several pairs of gloves per hour, especially when your hands get sweaty and it's impossible to put a new pair on.
Lately, Gboard voice typing has turned into the worst of the options.
It'll regularly miss the first few words, regardless of how long I live the mic active before I start talking.
It completely misunderstands what I'm saying and inserts words not even tangentially related to what was said.
Its been ADDING words at the end of my message I never said, like "though" when it's not even contextually relevant.
If I say the word "send" in a sentence it will send the message, for example if I wanted to say "can you send over some lamp black pigment" it'll write "can you" and then sends the message.
I'm so irritated that what was once a great asset has become worse than literal garbage. I just can't understand how they could fuck it up this badly.
Is there anything I can do to fix it? Because I've had a pixel phone since the pixel 3 came out, and I've had my pixel 9a for over a year and by now they should have plenty of my voice data on file to make it work accurately but it seems like they can't make it work at all.

I live near Coshocton Ohio and Flint ridge, and going by how popular the martial is with knappers I figure there must be some decent quality stuff to work around here somewhere.
I have a few creeks going through my property and I wanted to know if anyone had any advice on what to look for if I wanted to pick up some material to try to knap myself.

Starting in the spring of 2016 with the Republican primaries, his name has been in the news at least once per day, every day, for the last 10 years.
I'll be 40 this year, so for 1/4 of my life I've had his name shoved in my eyes or ears without my consent. Even during the 4 years he wasn't president he was a daily headline.
I'm so fucking over it, I don't even care if he faces justice over the horrible, disgusting, vile, and downright monstrous things he's done anymore. I just want him to go the fuck away and I never want to hear about him again.
