Kingdom Come: Together - a KCD2 COOP Mod Open Beta

Kingdom Come: Together is a free open source COOP Mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

After several months and hundreds of hours of hard work, I am super excited to announce the first actually working open beta for my project Kingdom Come: Together!

^(TLDR;)

^(Kingdom Come: Together, a KCD2 Coop Mod, is getting it's first working open beta release. Previous releases were unplayable, only for bug hunting. On this build, I have been able to play through several questlines with my testing buddies, and most importantly, goofed off and had lots of fun. You can find the installer on Github, in the Community Discord or on Nexus Mods)

Please roast me in the comments about my terrible editing skills lol

I picked this project up because I wanted to be able to play this wonderful game all the way through with my brother. Problem is of course, I wanted a bit more than just a Discord screenshare session.

I found that there was a multiplayer project that was in the works, but it was abandoned. I figured "How hard could it be to finish that?" - Very god damn hard wtf was I thinking. But I continued on anyways, because I really believe this game should be played with more than one person.

Now here we are! Today, the mod has come a LONG way. Here are some of the features that are currently working:

  • An easy, one click installer
  • An easy launcher tool - Open the launcher, let it set everything else up for you, such as Modding Tools, host or join via Steam, and enjoy!
  • Shared Quests - Your friend accepts a quest, and it accepts it for you too. He kills the quest giving NPC and you fail the quest, it fails for you too
  • Shared Combat* - I say * because it does work, but it works best if you and your friend fight different enemies. Fighting the same one single enemy at the same time is still a bit rough around the edges
  • Shared World - the host owns the world, owns the save. Everyone joining becomes a part of that world, and your saves are synced when the host's game saves
  • MOST Animations Syncing - See your friend wash at the trough, perfect guard, jump, open a door or grind his sword at the sharpening wheel. Certain things are not animated yet, such as Bows, the Forge minigame etc
  • A Mod Menu - Select the "INS" Key and browse the various options, such as disabling nametags for immersion, or enabling Fast Travel
  • Sleep Voting - when someone wants to sleep, everyone needs to agree and everyone sleeps
  • Weather, date, time sync
  • Droppable/Shareable loot - Have a badass outfit you want to see your friend in? Drop it on the ground, let him pick it up!
  • Outfit sync - Show off your drip to your friends
  • Much more!

Please keep in mind, this is an Open Beta. There are absolutely going to be rough edges, issues, bugs, syncing issues etc. That being said, considering that I was able to play through the entire Find Mutt! questline, and a couple other smaller quests with my brother with little to no issues, in my opinion it is well overdue to update this project.

PLEASE NOTE:
I uploaded the installer to Nexus as well, but they are notorious about blocking it. I made sure to reach out to support, but it takes a while. For now, I'd grab it off of the Github if you are eager to try it today.

Cold Springs Power Gone

Cold Springs power is out off Brant st, presumably farther into CS than that.

If you need to evacuate, keep in mind you might not be getting back to your house until at least tomorrow or later, so bring what you need.

They shut down the freeway offramps into CS for the Bug Fire for 22 hours, and it wasnt burning in that direction. This one is.

Good luck, stay safe all.

Fernley vs Reno

We live in Washoe county, but we are pretty far out. It's about a 30 minute drive into town without traffic.

I recently got a job in USA Parkway making really good money, enough to buy a house, but the issue is the damn commute from Reno to USA PKWY.

Even living off Vista still could take 2+ hours depending on when I get off or go in, and sounds like construction is starting on I80 later so it's bound to get even worse.

Is Fernley a good alternative to Reno for this? The houses are absurdly nice in comparison to what is available in Reno for the price range we are looking at, but I am not so sure it's worth it since Fernley is so tiny and seems there is nothing to do.

Edit: I also have a 6 month old child, so long term schools are something I have had an issue with. Reno has good private/charter, Fernley has one option

Thoughts?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Multiplayer Mod — First Public Release (v0.11.5)

I've been reworking a multiplayer mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with a small group, and this is the first time it's going public outside the Discord.

TLDR;

The KCD2 Multiplayer Mod has been reworked and released on Github! It features many new things, such as shared aggro, combat, a custom working Dice minigame, custom faces and more. There are many features to come since this is still a Beta release, but progress is flowing smoothly.
It operates similar to an MMO currently. You are playing your own save, but you can mess around with your friends while you are at it. Enjoy the world together or at your own pace!

The most important thing to understand first:
This is not a shared open world. Every player keeps their own full save and their own story, similar to an MMO. Everyone's playing their own solo game, but you can see each other, fight together, and mess with each other (or the Troskowitz Chickens) while doing it. Nobody's quests, choices, or progress get touched by anyone else's session, but you can also do them together, assuming everyone accepts them at the same time.

Nuance: "Master Server not found" error is a false positive. Ignore it.

What it does:

Presence

  • Real-time visibility of each other. Movement, animation etc whilst mounted or not
  • Proximity voice chat
  • Your actual equipped armor and weapon show up on you, live, no fixed "player skin"
  • Each player gets a genuinely distinct face, not a shared default look

Combat

  • Enemies fight back for real if you or a friend gets into a fight
  • Optional toggle to widen how many nearby enemies notice a fight and join in, for people who want chaos over a clean 1v1
  • Other players' health is visible on their nameplate, so you can actually tell if someone's in trouble
  • Death works like single-player: the player who dies reloads their own last save. Nobody else's world resets.
  • NPC damage now actually crosses between players' machines, not just applied locally for show

Dice

  • A full custom in-game dice minigame, played live with a friend. Hotkey invites, no alt-tabbing out of the game.
  • To be clear: this drives our own in-game board, not the game's native single-player dice screen — that's a separate, harder problem we're still chipping away at.

Quality of life

  • Opening your inventory or the pause menu does not freeze other players on your screen. Instead, they keep moving normally, with a small tag showing they're in a menu
  • Reconnecting does not leaves duplicate characters behind
  • One-click installer with in-app update/version-mismatch checking

What it doesn't do (yet)

  • No shared quests, dialogue, or world state — deliberate design choice for now.
  • Big multi-person fights aren't fully "shared" in the sense of everyone watching the same synced battle. What's shared right now is agreeing on who got hurt, not full NPC synchronization between clients. That's a much bigger technical problem we haven't tackled yet.
  • A friend's character can start fights near you that you didn't initiate
  • Still beta. Tested extensively solo plus with one real second player — actively looking for more people to stress-test real two-player sessions

Getting it running

Needs the base game plus a free separate "Modding Tools" download on Steam — the installer detects it and walks you through getting it if you don't already have it. Once installed you need to launch the modding tools and Syslink/Copy the files to the modded directory

Forked from an earlier community multiplayer project, continued with the original author's blessing.

If you play test this with friends, please let me know if it works, what doesn't and what breaks. I am always looking for testers, feedback, feature requests and more!

If you want to contribute, please open a PR on the github!

Makera Z1 CNC

New CNC Product just dropped that has a working area of 200*200*100 and is under $1,000 USD. Also supports a 4th Axis.

Found some files for CNC friendly Super Safetys, amongst other things on the internet that would be great for this, such as the Trigger Kicker, since it can machine metals.

Anybody seen this yet? It's a very cool machine, about the size of a Bambu X1 with the AMS.

CNC + Laser Engraving

Cut out a CNC Art piece and used my laser engraver to spruce it up. Laser needs some cleaning so it was as perfect as I wanted but still looks great imo.

Makera Z1 + XTool S1

A match made in heaven. I saw mixed reviews on the laser module for the Z1, so I opted out to use my S1 instead since it's a purpose built laser.

Claude Outage Ruined Me

Claude just went down and I knew it did. Wasn't even at my computer, I was hanging out with my dog and suddenly I stopped being able to process whether she was a cute dog or not.

I asked my brain to contact the Claude API to determine if the dog is cute and to make the prompt better, but nothing came back.

I was able to use ChatGPT to help me think long enough to post this, but guys I am ruined.

Does Anthropic know when it will be back up? I am already reaching my ChatGPT ---

Custodial Brokerage Compounding

Disclaimer: I AM NOT ASKING FOR ADVICE! I am simply asking what other stocks people like that are lower risk. I am an adult human capable of researching and making decisions on my own about what my money goes into.

Howdy!

I have a child and recently was hired onto a new job making good money.

My parents grew up very wealthy but never set anything aside for us, and I don't want to make that same mistake for my kid. Since I am in the same boat, making good enough money to invest in their future, I am opening a custodial brokerage.

I want to go the value route. Since it has 21 years to compound and grow, I don't feel the need for risky BS investments.

I am aiming for around $175 a month invested until my wife and I buy a new house. Once that's done, moving to \~$500 a month invested into the custodial acct.

What are your thoughts on areas to invest? I have a few, but was curious what the community's thoughts were, too.

Drive time to USA Pkwy

Good day!

I got a job working at USA Parkway and currently live in North Reno. Google Maps is saying that a drive out there takes about 40 minutes without traffic, so already pretty miserable.

The new job says they are highly flexible with my start time, so I was wondering what the best time to leave for work is to miss the most amount of traffic?

I was thinking either leave at 8am or at 5am, but I am not sure if there is a sweet spot or if I am screwed no matter what. Suggestions?

Working in a Datacenter (Question)

Howdy!

I have a potential job opportunity at a datacenter. My current role is currently very backend focus from a remote location, but this opportunity is worth moving to a more hands on approach in a datacenter.

Problem is, there is so much turmoil over datacenters right now, including talks of a bubble etc.

Is working at a DC a good choice for those who have done it? Im afraid of turnover and job security, as well as if the work is even rewarding. Im also nervous that working there will limit my experience to only DC work. Is any of this true or worth worrying about?

Maternity Photos Location(s)

Good morning Reno!

My wife is pregnant and we are wanting to take Maternity photos somewhere around town. We are big outdoors people, so I have a TON of amazing spots I'd love to take photos at... the issue is that we can't get to them with how pregnant she is.

Does anyone have good recommendations for places to take some pictures that won't induce my wife's labor getting to?

Howdy! I'm in Vegas until the 8th for a conference. I'm staying at the Wynn and was really excited for this trip, since a lot of my sessions end early enough that there's room for pleasure, but idk what the ufck to do here in this city.

Small town guy here overstimulated by the strip.

I saw The Awakening last night, hung out and gambled, had good food, drinks... It was rad! But the pool at the Wynn closes at 5PM and I don't have all the money in the world to sit and gamble all week after my sessions end.

I am a bored ass nerd with no car who has sat in his hotel all night, and would like to avoid doing that until the 8th

Are there fun things to do around the Wynn that isn't gonna break the bank?
