Deloitte India Attitude Issues

We've got a sold opportunity at Deloitte USI, but no one's available to staff it right now. My SM told us to check with the Deloitte India POC about their staff. They started sending profiles where people with less than 3 years of experience exaggerated their past work. After just 5 minutes of chatting about their projects, it was clear these were fake experiences or copied from internet.

I interviewed a Deloitte India Manager who bragged about deploying modular pipelines for a life sciences client, but couldn't explain how code deployment works. He thought raising a PR on GitHub moved the code to higher environments, with no clue about the actual code bundle or movement using actions.

To save time, I gently ended the interview after a few more questions, saying I'd get back to him, and marked him as rejected. He escalated it to my leadership, saying I asked absurd technical questions, and even called my mobile to say, "who am I to reject him for that role?" Luckily, I had already told my SM and MD about it, and they handled it.

It's understandable if someone doesn't know the deep tech stuff and needs to learn, but this was a shocker. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Deloitte USI Jaipur

Any Consulting folks working from Jaipur office? Tried accessing the facilities today, only a handful of folks on the floor but yeah much better than what Gurgaon office is.

Rant Story

I travel between Gurgaon and Jaipur almost every alternate weekend. To split fuel costs and avoid driving alone, I usually post my ride on BlaBlaCar.

Back in June, an old acquaintance from my school days reached out. She saw I was driving down and asked if she and her sister could tag along. I happily agreed, thinking it'd be nice to have familiar company. We did the trip, everything seemed fine, and I figured she'd clear her share once we reached.

She didn't. For over a month, she completely ignored the topic. I tried gently hinting and reaching out to let her know the amount, but she completely looked the other way.

Last week, fed up with the callous behavior, I finally sent a direct message saying she needed to clear the dues and that this wasn't right on her part. Her response? "अच्छा तुझे इसके भी पैसे चाहिए क्या?" (Oh, so you want money for this too?)

It was exactly ₹1400. The amount was absolutely nothing to her, but the sheer entitlement was mind-boggling. She did end up transferring the money right after, but immediately blocked me on both WhatsApp and Instagram.

It's never about the money, but money really does make people show their true colors. Imagine losing all self-respect and burning a bridge over a basic carpool split.

Has anyone else experienced this level of casual audacity from old "friends"?

Amex vs Amazon Card

I want to buy a height-adjustable desk through the well-being subsidy this year. Should I use my corporate Amex card for this expense, or should I use my personal ICICI Amazon Pay card, which will give me a 5% cashback at the end of the month? What could be the catch if the company is asking employees to use corporate cards for these types of expenses?

If I use my personal card, I'll save 5% as cashback and still claim the orginal amount from the firm. Also how are traced calculated on well being expenses?

Sleepless Nights

Honestly not sure what's the reason for it, but happens whenever I go to office. Maybe it's the temperature, but not sure! How are you guys sleeping peacefully in this harsh weather?

Hello Folks,

Today I did a run from Delhi to Gurgaon over weekend. No sudden acceleration or braking and achieved these figures. I really don't find anything boring while driving this vehicle in the city but yeah overtaking on highways seems like challenging at times considering the frequent gear shifting.
