A dove built her nest just outside my room. This isn't the first time—she has nested here before, laid eggs, raised her chicks, and watched them fly away.

Every time I see her, I'm amazed by her patience. She sits there for hours, day after day, through heat, rain, and noise, protecting a future she can't even see yet.

Watching her made me realize that progress isn't about motivation. It's about showing up every single day.

So I'm making a promise to myself.

From today until she lays her eggs, the chicks hatch, grow, and finally leave the nest, I'll keep showing up for my own goals too. I'll study every day, no matter how I feel. If she can dedicate herself so completely to raising her family, the least I can do is dedicate myself to building my future.

When her chicks finally fly away, I hope I'll have become a stronger and more disciplined version of myself too.

Here's to consistency—for both of us. 🕊️📚

I'll also edit this post at the end of each day with a short update-both on her journey and mine. Hopefully, by the time this nest is empty, this post will tell the story of two parallel journeys: a mother raising her chicks, and a student building discipline.

I am feeling GUILTY 😭 WHAT TO DO?

I am a research scholar and pursuing my PHD in India. We work on 🐁 Rats as animal model for the studies.

So what happened was a friend of mine who was having a birthday today, called me and ask if I can check on her rats today. To feed them, to give them water and to check if the cooler is filled with water and is turned on. I told that I'll do it.

Afterwards I went to the lab I checked all the animals fed them and gave them water and filled the cooler BUT forgot to turn on the switch. I came back to my room and slept.

She called me after 4 hours and she told me that her supervisor called her and told her that 5 rats died because of the heat. The supervisor scolded her badly even called her careless. Family came today on her birthday to see her and celebrate your birthday. A day is totally destroyed.

I said sorry to her and apologised. I am feeling guilty I want to know what I can do. 😭 I wasted her birthday, her important day. I m really guilty. Could not even drink water or eat anything.

I try to study via pomodoro technique. I study for 50min and then take a 10min break. After such 2 sessions I feel like almost giving up.

How can I continue to do such multiple breaks without getting bored?

Recently started to post on YouTube also to record so that I don't check my phone in between the session. Still as the session is over i again get back to the phone and don't feel like studying again.
