This isn't a horse training sub but...

"Positive reinforcement, like giving treats, is something that we never do here at Lazy Oaks. First of all, if you don't have treats, the horse is definitely not going to do what you ask him to do AND it creates a lot of disrespect and a lot of pushiness."

I thought this was interesting. For all the "scientifically all animals do best with positive reinforcement only so dogs should be trained that way too" arguments.

Questions About Double Family Housing 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Newbie here again! You all have been so helpful, so I figured I'd ask another.

I know that when you do the double/triple/quad family housing it helps mostly with gardening and not necessarily animals or artisans (from what I understand it's better to have more single family houses for output on those,) but when it comes to assigning families jobs outside the home, what do the mechanics look like?

For example, if I have a additional family home with no yard, would two homes fill up the entire trade post (at two houses, four families in total?) Or one home for one stable with two assignment spots?

Can the families be split up? Or will they all just go to the assigned place you give them? Say, a sawpit? Will one family hit the sawpit and the other just be permanently unassigned?

Any other tips and tricks for the upgrading of burgages and their uses is greatly appreciated!✨

Thanks again! ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜

New Player: Help With UI & Other Family Management Tips!

Hello! 🛖

New player here, and loving the game. For the life of me I couldn't find an explanation for what these symbols mean when I press the [Tab] button (just discovered that, too! 🤭)

What does the (red) market icon, (blue) exclamation point and (yellow) hammer and cog mean?

Is there any way to more efficiently see/know what all my families are doing besides hitting tab and/or clicking the burgage plot itself to see/reassign? 🤔 I know when you un-employ all your work stations and assign with E, it just takes the nearest family from the nearest burgage, correct?

Anyway, any other tips and tricks are greatly appreciated! I'm logging tons of hours on this game already. One tip I saw was using hitching posts only for oxen to keep track of them more efficiently, and keep them all kind of central in town so they're never too far away from anything they need done.

Bonus: What are your favorite starting resources?🎣🪨🫐🏹🍄‍🟫⚔️

Thank you! ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜

New Router Not Letting Old Devices Connect, WTF?!

I have a new Verizon router and it's bricked my Kindle and Nintendo Switch.

I've tried changing bandwidths to 2.4GHz, 5Ghz, both devices have the latest updates. Tried "forgetting" wifi, rebooting router...

Has anyone else encountered this problem? First generation Kindle and basically an original Switch, but weirdly my husband's Switch works just fine and it was bought a week after mine.

The router is working fine for all other devices except those two.

If anyone has encountered this problem previously and would share their dogs experience I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

All Yours Turrets Are Belong To Me

It's almost not fair because I ALSO get 4+ more extra shots before I start taking damage. Just don't clip the torb turret under a doorway, it'll get destroyed!

There seems to be these thoughts that come to me unbidden now that I know how I was raised. Today's thought was:

When do I remember my mother cooking a meal? 🤔

Then I look at myself and the fact that I forget to eat for days on end and have an inhuman way of ignoring hunger.

Huh. Oh that's right.

Those memories aren't there.
