Starting a Community Garden

So I plan on starting a community garden in my neighborhood and would like some advice on organizing and outreach (the garden logistics like land, water, tools, etc are already worked out.)

My main concern is that Im still a student. I'm not a very social person, but nearing the end of my secondary school years I thought I should get more involved in community service and leadership. But I'm very hesitant to talk to strangers, even my nice neighbors lol.

I live in a pretty friendly neighborhood for the most part but I just don't know how to gather people and organize volunteers. I'm making a flyer to pass around the neighborhood to gauge interest but are there any more tips?

Thanks for any advice!

Applying for scholarships as an average student

Looking for tips. So I started looking for scholarships early, in my sophomore year (though most I couldn't apply to till I was a junior). I'm trying not to put all my luck into those randomly selected no-essay scholarships, but I'm not sure I qualify for anything else.

I get good grades, have the max gpa, can write a good research essay but writing stuff about myself is usually subpar. But all these scholarship programs are looking for something special. I'm not first gen, I'm no longer low-income, no military, no sports, no leadership or community roles.

Am I doomed or is there still a way I can get scholarships as just an average Joe?

Any tips for a new tutor? (Tutoring mostly little kids, some middle and highschool)

I signed up to be a tutor in my area and just had an interview, and am questioning whether I'll actually be able to be a decent tutor.

I'm still in school, and I would be tutoring 2 days out of the week for an hour after school (I'd be working with 1-2 specific kids only). There is a volunteer and paid position. I signed up as a volunteer for now, which is apparently the same commitment as the job, just unpaid.

Basically, some of the interview questions made me question whether I'd actually be a good tutor (what do you do if a student refuses to work with me and claims "they're just here because their parents make them go," stuff like that), especially since I went in thinking I'd be tutoring high/middle schoolers (pre-algebra, algebra, and Spanish I-III), but most of the students they get are kindergarten-4th grade.

The interview did go well, and I don't want to back out now if I do end up getting the position, especially after making such an effort to go out of my comfort zone, help some people, and be committed to something outside of school. So any tips you guys have gained while tutoring would be very helpful!

Pink Striped Oakworm Care

I found a pink-striped oakworm on my water oak tree and decided to care for it. I live in Virginia (zone 7b. It's mid-late summer rn) and am wondering how long it should take for it to emerge.

It burrowed into the soil I provided a bit more than two weeks ago, and I thought it would've emerged as a moth by now, but there's mixed info on whether they burrow for a couple weeks or overwinter depending on the area and season. I'm very worried for my caterpillar. Thanks for any clarification or overwintering advice

"Dead" Blueberry bush and soil acidity

I live in zone 7b and bought a Sunshine Blue blueberry bush earlier this year (maybe beginning of April). It was small and doing okay (not a lot of new growth, leaves were a sort of pale pink/purplish color with some green). Over time it lost all its leaves and hasn't been growing at all through this spring or summer.

I've checked the branches and they are still alive. I've pruned a little bit. Not sure how else to save my blueberries or if this is normal

Also, they are outdoors in a large grow bag and tips for improving soil acidity for them would be much appreciated!

Movies in Spanish that are moving or complex

Been learning Spanish and want to include it more in the media I watch/listen to since I don't know anyone that speaks it. I'm ok with spain Spanish or Latin American but the latter is what I'm learning.

I watched Pan's labyrinth a bit ago and loved it. I'm looking for anything with a beautiful story, acting, etc, doesn't have to be horror. So long as it's moving in some way and/or can be deeply analyzed (characters, themes, story). And not romance.

Nothing R rated please (I don't mind profanity or violence, just no nudity, sex scenes, making out, etc). Thanks in advance!

Epistolary books (not romance)

I've had this idea for an epistolary story to write but realized I have never read any (asides from Frankenstein, if that counts) and would like to before I get started.

What are your favorite YA epistolary novels? I'm pretty open to all genres but preferably not romance

Pink-striped oak worm caterpillar

Found this guy and am looking for tips on how to take care of him. I've got some water oak twigs in here to eat and I've wrapped the stem in damp paper towel to try and keep the leaves fresh longer. Will switch the paper towel layer for dirt when he's ready to burrow and add a stick for him to climb up on when he emerges.

Is this setup ok? Any notes on temp, humidity, sunlight, what not to do, etc? This is my first time taking care of a caterpillar on my own, thanks in advance!

Upsizing a pattern (poncho)?

I'm trying to knit this poncho: https://www.plymouthyarn.com/sites/default/files/F829-%20Hot%20Cakes%20Girls%20poncho_1.pdf

The pattern gives instructions for three sizes, but I'm worried the biggest size still might be just a bit smaller than I want it. Is it possible to change some of the amounts in this pattern to get it a size bigger (and how), or would that mess it up and I should just find a different pattern? I'm extremely new to knitting (have only made 2 scarves). Thanks for any help!

Guards you hack with no shield

So I've found a few guards in various areas (mainly apeman facility depths) that don't glow green when they attack and won't deactivate with a charge attack. I can't hit them and there's no indication of them needing a different attack. Is this a bug or something?

The two examples I can think of are Harvey by Her's and Renee by SALES. I love the chill music, and the end of Harvey with the calm electric guitar over the crickets sounds so nice, it's really cool to listen to at night but I only know those two songs like that. Does anyone know any others?
