Question About Imaginer Deluxe vs Regular Edition
I am looking at buying the Imaginer booms. The Deluxe Edition set on the secondary market is outside what I can afford, but I am torn on if I get the regular versions or if I wait until I can buy the deluxe.
I’m trying to figure out some things that the Clive Barker Archive site don’t make clear and I hoped someone here could help.
- Are there two or three versions of the Imaginer books? I see they sold regular editions ($105 ea), Deluxe Signed Editions ($390 ea, limited to 100 copies), then the deluxe set of 8 ($3325 limited to 100 copies).
The deluxe set of 8 comes to $415 per book…so are the books in that set different than the individually sold deluxe, signed versions?
- Is there a difference in the content of the books themselves between editions? Or is the only difference Barker’s autograph and slipcover?
For example, on the Deluxe Set of 8 page it says the set has several features. One of those is “Volume Eight features new and unpublished interview conversations with Clive as part of the text and archival material by Phil & Sarah Stokes”
Is that saying those interviews are NOT in the other editions of the book?
- What are the differences in binding/presentation?
The deluxe set of 8 says the books are leather bound 10x13. But the Volume 8 deluxe says the same thing. And the regular version says it’s 10x13, just not leather bound.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Any good replicas of 2010 remake movie glove?
I know Trick or Treat and NECA have put out a number of Freddy gloves over the years (not counting all the rubber costume ones before that) but has anyone ever done a replica of the glove from the remake?
Thanks for any info!
4-Year-Old G2 Keeps Prompting for Pixel Cleaning
I got my G2 in late 2022.
About a year ago it started coming up mid-watch prompting me to perform pixel cleaning. I did and then it kept asking again and again.
Eventually it just stopped asking. I assumed a software update fixed it.
But now, starting just last week, when I turn on the TV it asks me if I want to do pixel cleaning immediately. It says if I say “no” then when I turn the TV off with the remote it will do the cleaning.
I’ve tried all options. I’ve told it “yes” and left it off for hours. I’ve told it “no” and then turned off the TV with the remote. And I’ve manually started pixel cleaning through the menu.
Is there any way to fix this?
Voyager Cast, Current Friction or Just Scheduling Issues?
I’m at SpaceCon in San Antonio with three members of Voyager: Robert Picardo, Jeri Ryan, and Kate Mulgrew.
At these events group photos with people’s from the same show are common. Like this show has a Kelvin photo with Quinto and Urban, and a TNG photo with Spiner, Frakes, and McFadden.
But the Voyager crew have no group photos. And the Voyager panel has only Ryan and Picardo.
I know Ryan is only here Sunday but I figured on Sat they’d at least have Picardo and Mulgrew.
And I thought I read Mulgrew and Ryan were close.
I’m not looking for anyone to spill tea or details, but I wondered why they may not do group things like that.
ChatGPT making up a personal history for itself now? Using first person? I don't like this... (Version 5.5 Instant)
ChatGPT is behaving differently for me in the past couple days and I want to know if I can make it go back.
I know people use ChatGPT for a lot of things, including therapy, brainstorming, etc. but for me it's a tool for research, coding, and editing.
Well I was researching Masters of the Universe and asked it a question that Google didn't find. And it replied:
"I've been around He-Man fandom for years". What? That line really threw me, and was off-putting.
Then I was asking it for some audio equalization settings and it replied:
"One thing I've learned editing multi-host podcasts: listeners will tolerate a slightly thin voice far more readily than they tolerate a voice that's been over-corrected."
It learned? It's been editing podcasts?
This is a form of "invisible lie". It may be correct that liseners will tolerate a slightly thin voice, something it may have gleaned from the sites and Reddits it scraped for its model, but it has never edited podcasts. It did not spend years watching He-Man shows out of fandom...
Just give me facts. It's a machine. I don't like it pretending it's a person with a history of doing things it's never done...
[TOMT] Treasure Hunt story I “treasured” as a kid, and a line about digging a trench
As a teenager or slightly younger I either saw a movie or read a book about a treasure hunt. So late 1980s or early 1990s.
And I’m thinking this could be a YA book from that time or an episode of something like Young Indiana Jones… something like that.
The story was a treasure hunt story set in modern-ish times. I think the protagonist may have been an adolescent while the bad guy was older.
They were chasing a buried treasure from directions given by… a pirate? Someone’s uncle?
And the protagonist was caught by the enemy and forced to go to the treasure and dig it up. But the protagonist dug and dig and no treasure.
That’s when the protagonist realized that they were being guided by the sun and depending on the time of year the sun could be in different places on the horizon.
And the antagonist gets mad and says something like “so we could be digging a TRENCH!?!?” (I specifically remember the word trench as part of this exchange)
Anyone able to figure out what it is I watched/read?
I know it's no Different Strokes, but it seems like the TV Series Webster has some episodes lost...forever?
I've done my research. Shout Factory did release the 4 seasons the show was on ABC on DVD. And it looks like the first two seasons didn't sell well (I see a BOGO set on those), and the fourth season was only available through the Shout Factory site so seasons 3 and 4 AREN'T lost forever, but pricy.
But the syndicated Seasons 5 and 6 do seem somewhat lost. They never got the DVD releases. No episodes from those seasons were on Shout Factory's "20 Timeless Episodes" compliation disc either.
Pluto got the exclusive streaming rights to Webster in the US but their archive is woefully incomplete. For the 4 seasons that are on DVD they're missing huge swaths of episodes (and I'm thinking maybe music rights issues are the reason?)
Then for Season 5 they have only 18 of the 25 episodes (and their episode numbering is off so they say they have eps 1-18 but that's not true. They have San Francisco Part 1, which was S5E01, but not Part 2 or 3!) and Season 6 has only 17 of the 25 episodes.
Anyone know if these episodes still exist anywhere?
Specifically, the episodes that seem LOST lost, not on any DVD or streamer, are:
SEASON 5
Ep 2 - San Francisco Part 2
Ep 3 - San Francisco Part 3
Ep 5 - Grab Bag
Ep 13 - The Four Tops: The Sequel
Ep 15 - Taming of the Stew
Ep 16 - The Couch Potato Must Die
Ep 22 - The Talk Show
SEASON 6
Ep 6 - Sail Away
Ep 11 - The Web-touchables Part 1
Ep 16 - Thanksgiving with the Four Tops
Ep 17 - Here Come the Jets
Ep 18 - A Camping We Will Go
Ep 22 - They Don't Shoot Horses, Do They?
Ep 24 - Flood of Memories: The Final Chapter
Ep 25 - Webtrek
(and I'm not gonna lie, trying to find that Star Trek episode is what sent me down this rabbit hole)
Anyone know?
I know not everyone is a fan of the 2010 reboot, but yesterday (for its 16th anniversary), I got to talk to Thomas Dekker, who played Jesse in it. He revealed a lot of the reasons why that film ended up such a mess.
