What are Sephora and Mecca like for postage?

Hello makeup magicians and skincare sorceresses,

I live a looong way away from my local Mecca and Sephora. Are they good for wrapping product up really well for postage? Or do I grit my teeth and travel down to physical stores to purchase?

I’m worried about product breakage. Or am I overthinking it?

Thank you so much!

Oh man! Thats why my makeup separates!? I feel a bit silly 🫣

Oh wow. I feel so stupid!!
I am in my forties and it just dawned on me.
I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why my makeup kept separating and looking patchy after just a couple of hours.

At first I thought it was poor skincare, so I started applying moisturiser (forgive me, I was a child of the St Ives, burning toner and zero moisture for acne-prone skin), but that didn’t work.

I thought perhaps it could’ve been the application, so I purchased some Zoeva and Real Techniques makeup brushes and watched a heap of tutorials (forever grateful to Melissa Murdock, Trevor Barrett and Trevor T Mr Makeup).

Then I thought it might’ve been the foundation having gone off. So I got a new spenny one by Haus Labs. RIP, it’s oxidised quite a bit after a bit of time out of the work force.

And then I thought it could’ve been just a me thing, and resigned myself to the reality of having to reapply a full beat partway through the day if I didn’t want to look like a Picasso melted face painting.

Oh my gosh! I just realised that I was mixing silicone-based and water-based stuff and that’s why my makeup was separating and looking trash.

This whole time, I had no idea that there were silicone based blushes, and bronzer and concealers. And they need to be matched with a silicone based primer, foundation, concealer and setting spray!

Proper smh moment.
I feel so dumb!
Thankyou so much for this humbling self-own. At least now my face will eat (rather than be eaten).

From the AusFemaleFashion community on Reddit: Bit cranky at the wedding dress code

Hello fashion icons,

So the family has been invited to a family-adjacent wedding (not really related to the family, but close enough to call them family).

Men have been instructed/encouraged/asked to wear green and women have been instructed/encouraged/asked to wear pink.

My personal thoughts aside about asking guests to wear a singular colour for a theme, I have half an idea to wear the most aggressive shade of said theme colour.
Pale pinks don’t look great on my skin tone, and I would like to have some fun with this.

How do we think this particular combo would go?

Pretty blatant copy-and-paste positive reviews for POV products in Sephora. Should Sephora step in?

This has been covered in the Mikayla Nogueira sub, but it’s pretty blatant when the “reviews” use the exact same line for all nine lipglosses.

Is there any chance that Sephora will delete these bot reviews or leave them up? I don’t live in the US, so don’t use their website and am unfamiliar with their practices.

Is this business as usual or should people be pissed off about this? I use reviews (not the incentivised ones) to help pick products to try out.

Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts on this.

Looking at an e-bike, but perhaps an e-trike?

Hi everyone,

I have had my eye on an e-bike for a little while (getting to work, while dealing with several dynamic disabilities), but it has been suggested that maybe I look at an e-trike for the stability in case I had a seizure mid-ride.

I usually don’t have an aura before a seizure, so this is a legitimate consideration.

But (and I am a bit embarrassed to admit this) they lowkey give off senior-citizen vibes. I’m no spring chicken, but I’m also not exactly lining up for the nursing home.

So do I try to push aside my vanity?
And am I being a snobbish asshole?
The idea of having some freedom is intoxicating (never been able to stay seizure free long enough to get my licence), but I’m really struggling to decide what kind of electric assist bike/trike to choose.

Any reccs for foundation that’ll stay on and survive menopause? 🥵

Hi makeup experts,

I’ve just accepted a job in an office setting. I’m also going through menopause (hello multiple hot flushes throughout the day).

I’ve been using switching between Haus Labs foundation (oxidises a bit yellow) and BareMinerals skin tint (separates a bit) along with NARS radiant creamy concealer, and I’m just wondering if there’s anything else out there that would give a satin finish and put up with the hot flushes.

I used to quite like the IT Cosmetics CC cream, but the new formula is a bit meh. And the price jump made me do a double take. If I’m going to spend that much, I want to love the formula.

I have normal skin (not oily, dry or combo) with a little bit of PIE (post-inflammation erythema from teen acne) that I’d like to cover and even out.

Does the brains trust have any suggestions on suitable foundation or concealer? Price is no issue if it performs. Thankyou so much for your help!

I miss being interested in food

Hi everyone,

This is pretty much just a vent - but has anybody else on here have a reduced appetite with their Endo?

I’ve pretty much been reduced to eating one main meal (dinner with the family), and the rest are mainly meal replacement bars and meal replacement shakes.

I track things on MyFitnessPal to make sure that I’m not deficient in anything (thanks to my interest in nutrition), but I’m genuinely just looking forward to enjoying food again.

I’ve already had two laps (with excisions), a hysterectomy (preserving ovaries) last year for adenomyosis, but the surgery team are removing my ovaries later this year to prevent further endo and adhesions.

Ugh! Just another f**king thing this disease has stolen from me. I can’t wait for my bilateral oophorectomy later this year, and you can guarantee that the first thing I’m gonna do is order some Pad Thai!

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
Sending hugs and healing to you all ❤️‍🩹

Any reviews on Papinelle Kate modal maxi nightie and dressing gown?

G’day r/AusFemaleFashion mavens,

Has anyone bought or washed and worn the Papinelle Kate Modal maxi Nightie or the matching Kate Modal Dressing Gown? I’ve attached a link for the nightie. They’re available in David Jones, but I don’t like anywhere near one.

I’m looking to spend about a week in hospital, and another four-to-six weeks pretty much living in my pyjamas while I recover from major surgery.

I hate hate hate having a hem up near my neck i.e. t-shirt style nighties, as it feels like I’m getting choked out, and I want to avoid anything with a waistband rubbing my abdomen (so no boxers and singlets).

And I figure that if I’m gonna be lounging about at home recovering, I might as well be comfy.

Thanks for the info, and may your fashion choices be epic xo

Thoughts on RM Williams suede boots?

G’day gang,

Love RM Williams boots, and am considering purchasing a pair of chocolate brown ladies suede boots. Do they hold up as well as the leather? Or should I give up on the dream.

I’ve included a photo for reference.

Cheers for your input

My flare up caused me to have a seizure. But I just have to tough it out.

Absolutely fuck my life.

I went into a horrible flare (close to my ovulation date when I had a uterus) and it was so bad, the stress on my body caused me to have a seizure.

I fucking hate this disease and everything it has taken from me.

I’m drugged up to the eyeballs with pain meds, epilepsy meds and endo meds and they’re doing diddly fuck.

Just lucky my husband is an ambulance officer, and is well versed in how to deal with my Endo.

But fuck my fucking life and fuck these cunts that think that “waiting it out” is the be-all and end-all. Especially fuck remote hospitals that can’t do anything other than monitor me post-seizure for four hours.

If you read to the end, congrats. If not, I don’t blame you.
Fuck Endo, fuck my life and fuck this shit!
