Selling New Defender to dealer vs private?

I need to sell my Land Rover defender that only has around 15k miles and is hardly used. I bought it new which ended up costing over 100k after taxes and all the fees. I got a quote from carmax and carvana and both were between 40 to 45k which is over 50% loss.

I’d hate to do that but I don’t have the time to deal with selling privately and risk anything shady. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

I destroyed myself to become a millionaire and lost it all

Most of my 20s I lived paycheck to paycheck with small savings that would get eaten up by big purchases like car maintenance. I also had colitis and IBS which made my life horrible and prevented me from doing a lot that I wanted to do. I was always terrified that I’d get sicker and become homeless so I pushed myself as hard as possible to get rich and it worked out. I became a millionaire with a huge monthly income. I mostly just reinvested into my business and kept going all in and always had this sense of FOMO and overworked myself. I later got diagnosed with crohns and things got really bad with my physical and mental health. I kept pushing myself since my business required it and this continued to eat away at my mental health. Regardless of being a millionaire, I still lived minimally and never spent money on myself besides getting a nicer car and renting a nicer place, but I did this mostly for my girlfriend at the time. Things stopped being as lucrative with my business so I started pushing harder but I was fighting an uphill battle.

3 years later and I have lost everything on top of destroying my health trying to salvage it. I never took a step back to truly appreciate things and do something for myself but now I realize that it doesn’t matter. The more stuff I get rid of, the more I downsize, the better I feel. I thought becoming a millionaire would give me peace but in reality it made my life much more difficult and stressful. I now realize that there’s nothing better than the simple life and living as minimally as possible. I may not have a big bank account or huge house, but I also don’t have all the work stress that comes with that.

When I had a nicer car I’d always worry about it getting damaged or leaving it in the parking lot too long. When I had a bigger house, I’d always feel like I need more stuff to fill it. When I had nicer furniture, I’d worry about my dog damaging it or spilling on it.

I thought getting rich would give me security and in turn I’d be happy, but this was the opposite. Money can help better your situation but after a certain point it can’t buy happiness. I lost 10 years of my life to realize that money isn’t the answer, a simple peaceful life is.

Quitting coffee, need advice

Im currently in a flare and I’ve found that any day I drink any amount of coffee, my digestion is way worse. I know I need to quit coffee or find an alternative that works for me, but it’s just so hard while needing to work and live life. If I don’t drink coffee I just have the worst brain fog and can’t get as much done so it hinders work and I start falling behind.

I’m trying to drink less coffee and after eating something to see if that helps, but I’m seeking advice on what everyone else has done to solve this problem. Is there a coffee alternative you prefer, did you find a way to still drink coffee but without symptoms, did you quit coffee but continue caffeine in some way?

Any help is appreciated. If I have to stop coffee I probably need some form of caffeine still so any recommendations are welcome

What are your trigger foods?

I just started an elimination diet and realizing certain things really trigger a flare up. What are your top trigger foods?

I’d like to see if there’s a pattern and common things that trigger people with crohns

Finally some relief

So I’ve had a bad flare up for 3+ months now after having to quit rinvoq due to insurance BS. It was getting really bad recently to the point where I had bleeding 3 days in a row and was feeling super low.

I decided to do a hard reset and have only eaten rice and plane chicken for the last 3 days in a row and today I didn’t use the bathroom once after going 5-10 times per day for the last few months.

I’m hoping I can keep this up and things start improving but this is a great sign. I thought I was about to spend time in the hospital which would have destroyed me as I’m also potentially facing bankruptcy and losing my apartment.

I just wanted to share this to celebrate a small W and that there is always hope. I was feeling so low and depressed like I was dying just 3 days ago.

Need help

Due to unfortunate life events, my life is in shambles and I had to relocate which forced me off my meds (I was on rinvoq) and I won’t be able to get new meds until thing settle more and I can figure out how to get new insurance. I was wanting to switch meds anyways since I had some cystic acne on rinvoq but I’ve been off for about 5 months now and currently in a really bad flare.

I’ve been in a flare for bout 3 months straight and now it’s getting worse to where there’s bleeding and losing serious sleep. I hardly have any energy and lots of pain while trying to figure out potential bankruptcy and putting my life back together, which is making is much worse. I won’t even be able to afford rent soon and will likely need to find my elderly dog a new home on top of having to stay with family and friends and essentially be homeless.

I really need any advice possible to get my crohns in check naturally until I can get back to ground zero. It’s hard because when I’m such low energy and feel so bad I just want to get dell taco or a burger somewhere and this is making it much worse.

Should I cut everything out of my diet besides meat, eggs and raw milk? Should I do a round of steroids? I don’t know where to start, but I need to do something to help as much as possible.

A different way of life

I’m seeing a lot of posts about autistic burnout or just feeling miserable in general. I too have been going through burnout for years. Having Asperger’s on top of crohns has lead me down a path of being self employed and creating my own income, but this has lead to me working harder and sacrificing more of myself than I would have just sustaining a normal job. I pushed so hard that I actually made it and then due to burnout I lost everything. I’m currently in the process of going bankrupt and losing everything and I don’t even now where I’ll land or if I’ll have a place to stay in a few months.

I’ve always been very creative and found ways to make money doing things I enjoy but it doesn’t always last and things happen.

I’m now so burnt out that I feel like I won’t be able to work at all, especially after going through all of this. The stress has caused a bad crohns flare and I hardly have any energy on top of the burnout.

I will not give up though. I’ve always wanted to try van life and enjoy exploring new ways of doing things. I feel like if it came down to it, I would live as minimally as possible and make it an adventure.

Has anyone else gone through something similar? What alternative ways of living have you found that work for you? What is your solution for burnout?

My ex had RJ. What I wish I knew

My ex had bad retroactive jealousy and I didn’t know until a few months into the relationship. Our first few dates she was really chill and acted like she didn’t care what my past was like but she was really fishing. She would randomly ask questions about my previous ex and I answered honestly without going too deep. Everything I told her was enough to make the rest of our relationship a nightmare at times. Anything that triggered a thought about my past would have her asking questions and getting upset. It just kept getting worse and she would obsess over it to the point we broke up multiple times. I often wonder what the relationship would have been like if I had known to just hold boundaries when it came to my past.

I will never again answer questions about exs and if I do it will be vague without enough info for them to dig deeper.

It wasn’t until about 6 months or so into the relationship that she told me she had retroactive jealousy and that I shouldn’t give her too much info, but she already had enough info to let my past ruin the present.

The crazy part is she was talking to other guys and doing all kinds of shady shit while constantly hounding me about an ex girlfriend that I didn’t even care about.

Help - Very difficult situation

Hi, I’m in a very difficult situation with my elderly dog and personal life. Basically my entire life is falling apart and I may even be needing to stay with family soon if I lose my business and income. I’m trying to deal with everything the best I can right now but my elderly dog is starting to become increasingly more needy and whining most of the time while I’m trying to focus on work and dealing with these difficult situations.

I’ve always worked from home with my dog but lately his whining has become much worse and I’ve tried everything to help the situation but it just seems to be making it worse and my personal situation continues to worsen as well. It’s gotten to the point where I have racing anxiety from his whining and I have to keep leaving the house for breaks.

More details about my dog
He’s a heeler mix and much bigger than a normal heeler. He’s always been somewhat anxious with separation issues but only recently has it become much worse and effecting me. He’s about 13 years old and is overall healthy, but it does seem like he’s starting to act differently and he sometimes gets heavy panting at night. I have to be very careful about him over exerting himself because he will have what seems to be seizures or something similar. This is what the doctors said it sounds like but I’ve also had someone say it sounds like a brain tumor.

I’ve tried many different things to help ease his anxiety like longer walks, licking treats that take a while to finish, treats with ingredients to help anxiety, more regular treats, allowing him to rest on the couch instead of his bed, giving him more attention. All this has seemed to do is make it so he expects all of this on a schedule now as his whining has increased and he won’t stop until he gets what he wants or he gets tired. He gets really bad if I allow him to keep whining without addressing it to the point I can’t focus at all around him and this breaks my work flow constantly throughout the day. Normally I would just deal with it but I’m literally in the process of losing my business and potentially filing bankruptcy and losing my home, in which case my only option would be staying with family where he can’t be due to him being aggressive with their dogs.

I’m at wits end and my heart constantly feels heavy. I’ve even considered doggy daycare but due to his issue with seizures and daycare being extremely expensive if needing it multiple days per week, I haven’t done this.

I’d feel horrible having to rehome him since he’s been with me since he was a puppy so I would only look into this as a last resort if I lose my home.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I’ll answer any questions as well.

Thank you
