Considering Nikon autofocus film SLRs for college students, looking for advice on what to buy / avoid.

I teach beginning film photography classes at a local junior college. Our students are diverse in their abilities, and while most students do okay with our K1000s, some of them just can't handle the full manual cameras. The photo program has decided we should get 2 auto focus / wind / rewind cameras for those students that need a certain level of automation. Obviously the n2020 is out, due to the manual rewind - which is kind of a bummer, because of the controls on it - but are there any other models to avoid? Anything specific stick out as a great choice? I'm leaning towards Nikon over Canon because most canons that are modestly priced are of questionable build quality to me, but then again we can't afford F5s, so ... ??? We are looking for durability and affordability over features, but the camera must have a manual metering mode. we will probably just get 50mm f/1.8 lenses, the old screwdrive versions, so the camera will need to support screwdrive lenses, but don't all of the autofocus film bodies support that? I appreciate any help the good people of this subreddit provide.

Going to Hawaii for 10 days. Help me choose 1 camera.

I know many of you will say “take all 3”, but I’m already taking a medium format folder and a DSLR. So …

The canon is light, easy, and cheap enough that I won’t cry too much if something happens to it.

The XA 2 is extremely pocketable, which means I’m more likely to get it out of the car.

The Nikon is awesome, but kinda heavy and kinda loud.

To slightly complicate things, I do have the 40mm pancake for the canon if I want.

I am mostly taking 100 - 400 iso film.

I’m packing in a couple hours, and the indecision monster has a firm grip on me. Please help if you can.

Bet way to shoot 35mm in the RB67 with a 220 back?

I have shot 35mm in a holga using the adapters and custom take up spool you 3D print. Is that the way to go, or should I transfer to backing paper, or??? Has anyone tried it?

12 months at 82% battery health.

Over a year ago I became very aware that the daily battery life of my SE 3 was going down, and I began checking on the battery health more regularly than normal. It has been at 82% for at least a year now.

To me this makes no sense, and I think the number must be inaccurate. I’m pretty sure my runtime per charge is going down. But maybe I’m wrong? Has anyone else experienced this? It’s infuriating, as life at 82% means almost mandatory mid day charging.

No love for the OneStep2 or OneStep+?

I get that it might make the copy messy, but it still seems wrong to omit those models from the list.

To be clear, I am in an extremely foul mood at this point, and doubt I will use an actual torque wrench. I just want to be sure that I’m correct in thinking that I should have been able to remove my lower shock bolt without a breaker bar and cheater pipe, and possibly a torch. There is extremely minimal rust on the threads.
