What’s a piece of lore even the best Loretubers seem to always get wrong?

I’m not talking about the memetubers that hyperbolize the lore into meme format, I’m talking even the reputable, diligent ones. Mistakes or misunderstandings that only you seem to point out or know about.

I’ll give you my example; every content creator that mentions it seems to think there was a Thousand Son’s sorcerer that could remove Kharn’s nails for him. Actually reading the short story it’s from, it’s very clear he had no clue what the nails did other than cause him paint and was simply lying to him just to get Kharn to pull the chain axe away from his throat for a brief moment. Yet somehow, it’s immortalized in YouTube lore that someone, somewhere, was able to remove the nails but didn’t.

Is there anything you frequently see mentioned even by the greatest retellers that always ends up misconstrued?

Any shops (or folks) have a box of Warhammer Quest: Cursed City for sale?

A friend of mine in Europe is looking for a new (or used) edition of Cursed City and pricing and shipping to him is insanely expensive as it’s quite rare to find in Europe. Figured I look around here to see if I can help him! I checked the usual tabletop shops but if there’s any other stores I missed that have it, please let me know!

Or if someone is willing to sell their edition… 👀

Long time lurker, first time painter (sort of). Give me feedback and tips!

I’ve been into Warhammer since I discovered Bolt Thrower as a teenager and immediately fell in love with our butcher boys because of the song. Because of other hobbies I just never got around to the minis. A few years ago I started a box of X8B just to see if I’d enjoy it or not. The relationship I was in at the time wasn’t supportive of my hobbies so my 3 little guys are still half painted in a box somewhere. Fast forward to now, my current girlfriend fell in love with Warhammer because of me, and we decided to bite the bullet and tackle an entire army (she has Night Lords and Sisters). Now that I have every bespoke WE mini I decided to start painting them. Completed my first Berserker (top right) and finished a champion (bottom right). I’m pretty proud of my work, especially since I’m not artistically inclined at all, but am always open to tips and feedback to get better! I tried to give my champion a plasma glow but am not happy with it (it does work with some photoshop magic). Any pointers on how to get the glow to look better? I painted him much darker than the berserker to give better contrast, and used a dry brush on the line of sight edges, but idk, it still doesn’t seem right.

Anyway, can’t wait to finish these guys and claim some skulls on the table in the far future!

Look for a specific twitter/fb post meme

Was a meme of someone posting about “dudes will drive 45 min to fight a mfer and stay mad the whole drive” or something to that extent. I’m sure there’s been a few variations of it but any version y’all have saved will help.

Another month, another book recommendation!

Got my monthly Audible credit and am looking for my world eater fix. Recommend me some full length novels that have memorable WE characters or a heavy WE focus!

So far I’ve finished:

Betrayer
Slave of Nuceria
The Red Angel
After Desh’ea
Eater of Worlds
Chosen of Khorn
Shroud of Night
Echoes of Eternity

Any other novels with a strong Kharn presence that I’m missing out on?

Is Realm of Chaos actually in A standard?

I’m playing along to it in A and my guitar is noticeably half a step lower than the record. Tuning up to A# matches it perfectly.

Are the tabs and website wrong or there something wrong with my speakers, or possibly my brain?

Warhammer stores?

I usually get my little space fascist war dollies from Ettin, Hammersmith, and occasionally GW up in RR, but im wondering if there are any more stores in town that keep a stock of minis and paints.

I looked in Artemis and while that place (and the owner) is very nice, they didn’t seem to have much stock at the time (they did have quite a few old White Dwarf editions, which was really cool).

Am I able to pick up a package from the local Amazon facility here?

They’ve had an order of mine for almost 2 weeks now, just sitting at the facility/warehouse not going out for delivery, and customer service is absolutely useless in getting it on a truck.

Is there a way I can just…go there and ask for it?

To add: they’ve told me I can’t cancel it if it’s delayed. For those about to tell me to cancel it and reorder it.

Bastard request: Horus Lupercal

I know there’s a megathread, but hear me out

Loving the new 40k spin-off project idea. So, a BTB episode but fully immersed in the 40K universe, as if Horus is a real person, with Robert and guest pretending as if they’re Inperium citizens or something. Either as an April fools drop or Christmas drop.

What other 40k bastards would make a great addition like this? Aside from Erebus

Slave of Nuceria lore question

In SON, Lhorke tells Magos “twice before the Emperor has purged his own progeny and their legions with them, do not assume the world eaters are above that”

Is he referring to the 2 lost Primarchs and their legions? Or is he talking about the Thunder Warriors and perhaps another set of creations he made before them? Considering this book is shortly after Angron’s discovery, the 19th primarch (11th legion) hadn’t yet been discovered, with the 3rd primarch (2nd legion) only being discovered 80 years prior, a blink of an eye in 40K time, really.

I know about the Thunder Warriors…curious if there was anything before them (or after) that Lhorke could be referring to.

I know it’s a gladiatorial tradition from Nuceria for fighters lost to the nails that Angron’s legion later adopted, but when and where did they first appear in the lore? Is there a first mention/first artwork depicting them, and have they always looked that way or did they change over time?

Not karma farming, i just genuinely enjoy the small excerpts from books and stories that show some named world eaters having a sliver of humanity and reason left. Like Dreaghor having a fondness and respect for Squirrel or whatever her name was, or Lhork playing poker with Lotarra (I understand he never got the nails, but still…)

Any other good examples of our psycho butcher boys showing a shimmer of emotion out there?
