How to deal with aggressive owners of the business who support a toxic culture

Based in Sydney

Started a new job a couple months ago and I’m already looking for a way out.

The owner is heavily involved in the business and is incredibly aggressive. He regularly yells and swears at us, in front of other people too, he makes people cry regularly and he calls us a dumb c*nt on the regular. Everyone is scared of him because he can just flip in a second and start hurling abuse at us.

A shock for me has been the workplace culture. The team turn up late, make racist remarks, bully each other, joke about school shootings, call people Nazis, use the N-word, at lunch they will go out and drink alcohol and then come back to work on machinery and sometimes smoking in the cranes they are operating, they do cocaine on the job openly, It’s honestly the biggest shock to see this as I've never experienced anything like this before, No one seems to think it’s a problem but me and my manager (his new, started a month after me)

About a month ago, the manager held a meeting to put a stop to it all, The guys complained to the owner they were being treated like children, but to be fair, their behaviour improved for a couple weeks.

Then last week everyone started back on their behaviours, running late etc...one guy started calling one of our German contractors that came in to do a safety inspection a Nazi, the safety inspector was so shocked and upset he walked off the job instantly. The guy was then reminded that it’s not appropriate and isn’t the behaviour we want here.

On Monday, the owner pulled me and my manager aside and yelled at us so bad in front of other people and told us to let it go. He said if people want to “banter,” just leave it alone because people are complaining to him that we’re pulling them up on their behaviour and we need to keep them happy so they can do the job.

I’m scrambling to find another job. It took me eight months to find this one after being made redundant from my previous role, so I can’t just walk away yet.

how do you deal with a workplace like this & the owner?...its more so the owner thats the problem because he has allowed this culture at work and thinks its fine so i just don't want to keep getting abuse yelled at me.

Struggling to sleep or get tired on vyvanse

Just started vyvanse 30mg 3 weeks ago and am never tired, i might sleep at night for a couple hours but will be up at 2:30am and wont go back to sleep.

Struggling to fall asleep, stay asleep, even getting tired/sleepy is hard im not sure how ive been able to function normally at work with this much lack of sleep? Im not even yawning.

Dr prescribed me 2mg of melatonin which gets me to sleep (slowly) but does not keep me asleep and im back awake again by 3am.

Ive booked another dr appointment but wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing and what has helped them?

How long did it take for your Dr to get the S8 permit approved?

Located in Melb, was recently diagnosed through Fluence Clinic. My doctor then applied for the schedule 8 permit and told me it would take 2 weeks for approval, it's been 3 weeks and she still hasn't been approved.

Just was curious how long others had to wait?

I'm not from America so I'm not quite familiar with the tipping culture but to me this seems very low especially for a high priced dinner and her having enough money to tip better, Would love some insight.
