VCAT - landlord lives interstate

HELP!! VCAT

I have been renting a house that had 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom unusable due to black mould and the water from the bathtub and sink would leak into the bathroom floors and bedrooms carpet making it unusable

We lived there 16 months begging for this to get fixed as we could not use the bathroom or the bedroom and it never got fixed to the point we just had to leave.

We asked for 8k in compensation, the owner said 4k, i called vcat AND THEY SAID CAUSE THE OWNER LIVES IN A DIFFERENT STATE we cannot go through vcat and its better to take the 4k :'(

IS THIS RIGHT? 😭😭😭😭 please help me im so lost and dont know what to offer or negotiate

How long did it take for your Dr to get the S8 permit approved?

Located in Melb, was recently diagnosed through Fluence Clinic. My doctor then applied for the schedule 8 permit and told me it would take 2 weeks for approval, it's been 3 weeks and she still hasn't been approved.

Just was curious how long others had to wait?

Dog friendly cafe recommendations with a courtyard

Hello! Looking for cafe recommendations in the south east that are dog friendly, hoping also they may have a court yard or something for the dogs to roam free?

I went to a cafe in bentleigh years ago now that had this concept but havent been able to find it since!

I'm not from America so I'm not quite familiar with the tipping culture but to me this seems very low especially for a high priced dinner and her having enough money to tip better, Would love some insight.

Been waiting for over 6 months for my payments of my hours worked, annual leave etc from my old workplace that went into liquidation in October.

Ive been on jobseeker since losing my job, hoping to get paid this month its around 20k, will this effect my job seeker payments if its paid work that was before i was ever on jobseeker?

Thanks
