Just finished watching the petal MV and noticed how this one and Hate That I Made You Love Me (HTIMYLM) were both rooted in violence/murder.

In HTIMYLM, she’s the one that’s murdered by her husband and continuously haunts him until he joins her.

In Petal, she‘s the one who murders the company men who criticize her and is then given validation from the women outside the room, that are in the same position and even, in a way, the universe at large by way of the fortune cookie.

Obviously, both MVs have been fantastically executed, but the themes are so dark compared to what she’s previously worked with, especially coming out of ”Brighter Days Ahead.”

I feel like this era is so far showing the thin line between the passions of hatred and love, with her tackling a marital relationship in the first & a relationship with fame in the second. I’m not sure what this all means, if anything, but wanted to see what others are thinking.

I was in the 300 sections for my show and wasn’t able to grab any. At the end, they wouldn’t let me go to the front to grab some either. :(
I’m looking to make a memory cocktail shaker (lol) and wanted some in there. I will make you a bracelet of your choice, pay $5, and for postage!

Thank you to everyone in the community who voted in the poll regarding generative AI. As of today, all generative AI (text-based and/or creative photographic content) will be banned from the subreddit going forward. Any posts after today, July 21st, will be subject to removal if suspected of using generative AI. Any posts prior to today will be permitted and approved as the ban had not yet been in effect.

Please use discretion when reporting posts, specifically text-based ones, as they can be more difficult to identify as AI versus real, human posters.

At this time, there is currently nothing in place outright banning the use of AI on the subreddit. However, I’ve noticed an uptick in posts that use generative AI being reported and requested for removal. Please use this space to vote on what bans should be placed on the subreddit (if any) regarding the use. This poll will be open for 7 days, closing sometime on July 20th. If no option reaches 50%, I’ll run the poll again with only two options. Thank you in advance for choosing to be constructive and respectful during this discussion.
