10 killed, 15 wounded today: A son collapses over his father's body at al-Shifa Hospital. He begged his father not to go to work that morning - after they had been talking and laughing hours earlier. The father had no choice; ten people depended on him.
The father was among those killed when the Israeli occupation struck civilian police near the municipal park in Gaza City on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, an area packed with displaced families driven there.
Around ten Palestinians were killed and 15 wounded in the bombing of the Gaza Governorate Municipalities Police Headquarters, among them 13-year-old Dana al-Jamasi. Gaza's Interior Ministry says the occupation is deliberately hunting the police force so that lawlessness takes hold, the same pattern seen in the assassination of Gaza City's civil police chief Jamal Abu Kamil on 13 August and of the head of police in northern Gaza in July, killings that leave neighbourhoods with no one to guard aid convoys or hold order.
It came a day after the occupation bombed the fishermen's port, killing six people including a child among families living in tents on the shore. More than 1,265 Palestinians have been killed since the so-called ceasefire took effect on 11 October 2025, a ceasefire the occupation has never once observed.
