Why could Remarkable line up the frontlight on the Move?

Why could Remarkable line up the frontlight on the Move?

I do like the Move I got this week. It’s almost perfect for me apart from I wish the frontlight was colour temperature adjustable and this light bleed at the top.

It’s not the white frame as it’s blocked on all other sides but looks like either it extends to far at the top or isn’t covered correctly at the top.

It doesn’t look to bad on this photo but when using at night, it’s very noticeable

How do I get Octopus to control intelligent octopus go from an Ohme charger?

We got octopus to supply us an Ohme home pro charge around 2 years back and we moved to intelligent go.
We own a polestar and a Tesla and when setting up, there was no control for polestar so we setup as Ohme controlled.
Until recently this had been great. We plug into either car when we want to charge and it charges when it’s cheap. If we are in a rush we can use the charger or charger app to force charge now at full speed at the extra cost. All working great.

Last week something changed and this stopped working. I tried to fix it by deleting it from the app and planned to add and setup again. Now there is no adding a charger, only car.

The home website recommends to change to charger controller but that needs to be done by speaking to octopus or using a form. I tried both. The form but no answer after nearly a week. I’ve phone customer services and got nowhere.

Octopus have told me that intelligent go doesn’t support more than one car and if it worked before, then it was a glitch. I asked the representative to see if they can get additional info. After two holds I was told that the only answer is to come off intelligent go!

So has anybody got them to swap back to charger controller? We got the Ohme charger from Octopus because both Ohme and Octopus told me that it’s a supported charger for intelligent go!

Searching for an ADHD daily planner for the move. Got a recommendation?

Just spent ages on Etsy overwhelming myself.

I’m looking for a daily planner to plan out what I’m doing, my todos and most get done along with space each day for notes/ideas/quick sketches, ideally hyperlinked to a calendar and looks good on the paper pro move.

Anybody got a recommendation?

Screen temperature comparison between viwoods, remarkable move and kobo

I was on here recently to ask about the Move screen light as I found my AIpaper mini too cool.

Well I have a move now and this is them side by side. Unfortunately both of them do not have colour temperature adjustable front lights where as my kobo on the right can be hosted between really cool and really warm.

I find the move ok as a compromise. I find it a bit too warm in the day when I need the light on, and I find it not quite warm enough late at night. But I wouldn’t want it warmer in the day and I would t want it cooler in the evening. So as it can’t change, it’s fine

Anyway to have comics format better landscape?

I’ve just got a use remarkable paper pro move and it is great for books with koreader on it. Comics look ok too, and I’ve tried various plugins that help with panel by panel.

But if I physically rotate the device using its accelerometer it still keeps the comic the same layout and koreaders menus stay the same size, tiny.

Is there any way to have a different layout when horizontal?

PP Move. How is the front light temperature for night time use?

I just assumed the frontlight on the move would be colour temperature adjustable but it looks like it’s just brightness adjustable.

So how is it? Is it warm enough for using in bed? I would hope to put koreader on it and sell my kobo libra colour and use that. I love my viwoods AIpaper mini but the front light on it is very cool so at night it’s a blue screen

Pocket air mini. Anybody found a way to use the customisable buttons as a retroarch hotkey?

On the pocket air mini, there is the extra two buttons on the top of the device. The one on the left is label MODE in the software but I have it as the back button for most emulators.

I really want to get a one button action for retroarch to pull up the menu.
Anybody got an idea how to do this?

So when do you think viwoods will announce its next device? And what do you think it is?

It’s no secret that a new device is going to be released this year.
What do you think they will come out with and when do you think?

Please talk me out of change from AIpaper mini to remarkable move

I do really like the AI paper mini and it’s fantastic how much viwoods have listened to feedback and been releasing so many upgrades. It’s a great device I would recommend

The thing is, I still find myself missing Remarkable’s simplicity and its perfect cross device sync and mobile app. I miss taking notes and they would almost instantly be on my computer and phone. It was a simple life and easier to keep track of everything.

Remarkable has features such as an option to keep the last note page on screen in sleep. Very handy for today’s todo list
Full handwritten text search on remarkable is quick and works well.

Remarkable is a lot more limited but feels easier to get notes made.

The AIPaoer does a lot more but I’m finding I don’t really use the play store or other apps. I mostly want to take notes. I do also like to read on koreader which is really my only used app but I can sideboard that to remarkable.

I find the AIpaper AI feature not as useful as I thought. I thought it could easily convert my daily scribes to text, makes sense golf them to summaries actions etc and then I could copy into the right area on OneNote. There’s too much friction to do this so I just take handwritten notes every day and refer back to them.

And finally the paper pro move has a colour adjustable front light and a colour screen for nicer highlighting and marking important things red.

Anybody swapped?

Would a Move work for my use?

Hi all. I had a Remarkable 2 years back and loved it although was frustrated by a few things. It felt slow, I wanted a front light, I wanted a smaller version like a pocket notebook and ideally I would have loved books on it too.

I sold the remarkable and over the last year I’ve been enjoying a viwoods ai paper mini. I love the size which is about the size of an iPad mini. It has a front light (although only cool) and runs android so I can install other apps. I love the device but syncing to desktop is nowhere near as good as remarkable and there is not a mobile client. I do like koreader on it though and like marking up documents.
But my main use is meeting notes and quick notes for remembering things, to do lists, and planning bits that I expand on later on my computer. I would love colour sometimes for highlighting

I’m thinking of simplifying my life. Selling my viwoods, and kobo e-reader and getting a remarkable paper pro move. But I have some questions filling my search here.

I see there are ways to install koreader and change sleep screen image. Does this still work on the latest software? Is it easy to swap between koreader and note taking? Is this a hack that Remarkable could break?

Do you miss Wacom pens? I do love my Lamy EMR so I’m sure I’ll miss that.

The move is similar size to my viwoods although around 3cm narrower. For those that use the mini, do you find the form factor works for you?

Any plans for Android Automotive support?

I use navidrome on symbonium along with local offline music. It’s a great player.

Would love it in my polestar that runs on Android Automotive. Is there any plans for it on there? Or does anybody know of an app.

Note. My polestar runs Android Automotive, not Android Auto

Now’s the time for a colour ai paper.

My wife has been looking at the various devices to get a good eink note taker and document viewer for work. She currently has a 1st gen kindle scribe but loves the look of my AIpaper with its daily feature and bring android so she can run other tools like OneNote

But she’s Looking at documents that would benefit from colour.

So her only real choices right now is the boox air 5c which she think is ugly, the remarkable pro which she things is too locked down and restrictive, and the kindle scribe colour soft which she says is really her only choice that would work for her.

There really aren’t many good choices.
Please viwoods, bring out a colour model with adjustable worth front light soon and I’m sure it will sell well if it costs no more than the boox or kindle

Best process for handwritten work notes during the day to AI

I take a lot of notes by hand during the day to my AIpaper mini.
I love the way I can look up my notes by day and there’s decent tagging and now linking.

What I want to do though is use these notes in copilot on my work laptop to add context to meeting transcriptions I’m using copilot to minute and general ai actions based off my notes.

What’s the best press do you think? Full page ocr and then send the output via email? Or is there a better way?

If you haven’t checked out Bookorbit for a server yet, it’s great!

I’m not the developer or have any stake in it at all but I just wanted to share that I’m already really loving the new media server BookOrbit. I’ve been using calibre web automated until now (and still am while I transition) but BookOrbit is much much faster and is really well put together.

There were some questions raised that it looks very similar to Booklore and therefore Grimmory but the developer has stated that they loved the booklore interface so we’re heavily inspired by it but the rest is a complete different stack.

And it shows. It’s much faster than Grimmory or my current CWA while using less ram.

It’s new and still missing a few features, has a few bugs but it’s under very active development and improving a lot each week.

Its really good and worth a look it will help you store and read your book

Xteink have learnt and won’t be locking future devices to the non China market

I previously was critical of what struck we’re doing with locking devices as I thought it was self sabotage. The brand has recently got a following because of the firmware community and customisation and the thought of not being able to do this in the future killed my interest in future devices.

Henry from Xteink has been really helpful and had a good chat with me. It looks like they have learnt from this and the upcoming devices will be open.

So now I’m excited about the front light version again. Only issue now is that it’s a touchscreen and no idea if crosspoint will work but I’m assuming development will continue.

Great news though

Is there a simple button to start a bbc sounds live radio station?

We have got rid of Alexa from our house as we are fed up with Amazon. Sonos voice is ok but seems limited.
We can’t use it to start a bbc radio station like we can with Alexa even though it’s controllable in the app easily.

My wife often doesn’t have her phone in the kitchen and wants to start either live bbc radio 2 or live bbc radio 6.

Is there a simple button we could setup to start the stream if do we need to use an old tablet or something?
