Heat related sudden tree branch drop!

Hello, I'm in the NE US, where it is and will continue to be extremely hot next few days and has been dry. Was up at my cabin which is surrounded by wooded areas and over the span of an afternoon heard and saw a couple of substantial tree branches drop within about 100-200m of where I was on a calm day. Fortunately I was in a clearing so wasn't in any danger.

Apparently there is a thing called sudden branch / limb drop which can occur in certain species or diseased trees during extreme heat / dry, so be attentive and if you hear any "cracking/crackling" limb noises take them seriously (e.g. look up and take necessary evasive action as warrented ) while staying in / transiting wooded areas.

Granted I have a few sycamores (which are apparently more susceptible), and there are some ash trees suffering from emerald ash bore in my areas, so maybe my immediate risk is slightly higher, but definitely caught my attention!

I run an open shop night at our local technical highschool, and tonight we were cleaning out one of the old supply closets. Found these hand-drawn posters from some previous shop teacher and I thought this group would enjoy.

Ford has experimented with sport wagon versions of the Mustang on several occasions, but it's often enthusiasts themselves who bring the idea of Mustang shooting brakes to reality. The first was done by Robert Cumberford, whose design made it onto the cover of Car and Driver.
