Beer selection for Chicago wedding - advice needed!

Hello! I'm getting married in Chicago in September and am starting the process of selecting beers.

We're wanting to have all the beer selections be Chicago/Midwestern focused or brewed, and the plan is to have 3 options in total. I'm originally from Chicago but I now live in the PNW so it's been a while since I've been able to drink a lot of Chicago/Midwestern beers. So I am soliciting all of your advice!! We're going to be ordering from Garfield's since they let you return anything you don't drink and our venue has worked with them before.

I'm thinking one sort of more 'basic' neutral option, a darker option, and then a brighter more fun and maybe hoppy option. Here are my current considerations for each:

More neutral:

Darker:

More fun/hoppy:

I would LOVE to hear all your thoughts on best combos and if you've recently had any of these beers and also if you have any other suggestions! Most of our crowd is not from the Midwest so I really want to be able to showcase how great our beers can be 😄 thank you!!!

Boat rental for 10-15 people?

Hello! I’m looking for a recommendation for a boat rental for 10-15 people in late July. Preferably pontoon or sailboat. Either lake or the sound! Everything I’m seeing are those electric or hot tub boats. Thank you!!

Hate my dress...and wedding is in 3.5 months

Hi BBBs!

I am getting married at the end of September 2026, and am in a dilemma.

I bought my dress about a year ago when my mom was in town (we live across the country), and as we were waiting for it to arrive, I kind of started to fall out of love with it. I was hoping that as I got it tailored I would fall in love with it again, but that just hasn't happened. I'm realizing it's just not what I envisioned for myself. It's crepe material which I've grown to just find a little meh looking on me, and I think I just want something a bit flowier. I'm getting married in a glass blowing studio, so something a bit arty even. I know that alterations will be tough but I live in a major city where I can pay extra for a rush job. But this is obviously a short timeline.

I'm seeing if you all have any suggestions on where I can look online to order some high quality wedding-esque dresses that will help me get out of this situation that are NOT made to order. I just do not want to look back on my day and see that everything around me was lovely and beautiful and then remember that I was really unhappy with my dress.

Thank you <3

Here are the few I'm looking at right now:

Black and red dress from 70s?

Tried on this dress at a consignment store but it was too snug. Want to see if I can identify the designer so I can hunt for a larger size online!

Suggestions for small order ceramics commission from local artist

Hello! I'm defending my PhD at the UW over the summer (woo!! but also ahh!!) along with my best friend who I met in the program.

I'm wanting to commission 2 handmade ceramic mugs that have "Dr. _______" stamped onto them to celebrate us being newly minted PhDs, and was wondering if people have any suggestions for artists. I've looked at the Salt Stone Ceramics and Orcas Island Pottery websites, but there's no information on if artists do or don't take commissions, and I also realize that this might change over time for an artist.

Thank you!!
