After so many years I finally played music through the SD card 😁🎶🪄

The DSi Sound app is fun with short recordings, but only today (17th August) I finally tried listening to music I added through the SD card yesterday! I just chose a few from my laptop, SD card reader, put the card back in the DSi and enjoyed it in rather good audio quality through earphones 🤩🎶

The .mp4 (video) and .m4a files are what work (aac format, any folder). It does pop a bit on 8D audio but otherwise sounded fine. The varying graphics and sound effects are fun too 😁

I've had my Nintendo DSi since I was 7 (late 2009 or 2010) but only ever had 2 games on it, no Wi-Fi, and the camera only recently ran out of internal storage (compared to my phone 😅). On the last picture those were our late pet goldfish almost 10 years ago, and the game is Big Brain Academy. ☺️

Enya sings backing vocals for this 1991 cover 🌕🎶 (is the 'oooh' bit also her?)

The song is The Whole of The Moon originally by The Waterboys in 1985; this cover was by the late Terry Reid 😌 and contributions from Enya ♡

I think the story was that Enya was at the same studio (SARM West; closed in 2013) for the final mixing of Shepherd Moons. Terry wanted some backing vocals, and Enya was definitely up for it! 😁💙🎶

The thing I've been wondering is whether she's also singing the long 'oooh' s beginning at 0:17? I think both are; I mostly hear Enya in the left channel. 😯🎶

I think the harmonies on 'you saw the whole of the moon' are Terry himself, and Enya is definitely the one singing the lovely intro and outro (another clip here) 🥰

Perhaps the first Frozen 3 meme! 💎🔮

Not in context of the film, but features a moment from the first look trailer at D23! It kind of fits that Elsa is holding a Frozen fractal "my soul is spiralling in frozen fractals all around!"💡🧊 And in red and earrings, this is a beautiful look for Elsa ❣️

I kind of predicted their dress colours in 2017 😃

This was a drawing I did in 2016 (photocopied it to A3 for an art project at school) and added a bit of colour to it in Jan-Apr 2017. Little did I know that Anna would be wearing the pink and minty green, and the purple in Elsa's outfit too! 🔮💟🎨 Looking forward to more about Frozen III tomorrow 🤩

International Cat Day 🐱 pictures and some Enya quotes... 🐈‍⬛💕

Happy Cat Day! 😺 Also see this post from last year; I thought to do one again, more focused on quotes this time (Enya's words on the 1st and 3rd). Mush-mush is likely to be the cat in the 2nd picture, at the Ryan house in Artane, pictured with Eithne. The cat in the first picture is Peewee; she is likely to be the mother cat who had several kittens (hence the 12 cats, but in Gweedore, not the castle 😅). I like Enya's consideration for animal welfare too. 💛

^(Note: The cat in the Wild Child music video somehow unofficially known as Pearl isn't actually Enya's, but sweet nonetheless! 🐈💟)

Feel free to share any Enya-linked cat tales, story ideas/lore, or even a cat that reminds you of Enya and the music! I decided to watch this film called Flow on a plane journey last year. It had no dialogue but lovely scenery and a wonderful tale (no pun intended) and it kind of reminded me of Enya and the whole early journey, in a way. ☺️⛵🐈‍⬛

I'm not completely sure (probably xNTP)

Probably a 'Christmas Tree brain' type? (ENTP, INTP, ENFP, INFP ~ (tl;dr mostly stuck between INTP and ENTP; I feel like I understand the latter more.)

In real life I am much less active than I appear online 😅 if I do have a physically busy day, I am basically out of action the next, even though being social for a bit can add a nice bit of variety to my life. I'm kind of 'going thought the motions' and occasionally ramble on about random things. ☺️ I'm a bit of a ditzy type haha, but can be surprisingly organised and knowledgeable in quite niche interests (not autism but likely ADHD-PI and schizoid/schizotypal?) as well as quite random. I really like nature (spending time in/watching from my window), playing about with technology, listening to music, and reflecting on/revisiting things from my childhood (can be joyful or kind of miserable stuff). As a child (and now probably) I was considered shy, quiet, innocent etc. but also cheeky, a rebel, a bit silly sometimes. 😄

In the past I have typed as most of these, and fit descriptions of all of those to some extent. I think over lockdown I was typing as INTP after a little while thinking I was ENFP (typed as that). I have the general gentleness associated with INFPs. However, despite being more aware of myself and things, I'm not much of an Fi nor Te user. I was very Fe at a young age (mistyped as ExFJ when I first took the test) and my thinking (I think :D) is quite similar to Ti. Ne is probably my strongest, but Si is quite strong too (can't tell if that would be an Ne-Si loop).

I've never truly aligned with being an introvert, yet convinced myself I was an extrovert. I can be stuck at home not wanting to interact with people or gladly chatting to those I barely know, and either can 'energise' me, but I feel better in myself with the latter. Maybe I'm an omnivert haha. Also I don't like to stick with the same groups/themes/ideas for too long, yet I don't completely change my image or conversation style much either. I can be dressed up and still be like the same odd girl as I am at home (though a bit more socially/situationally aware I hope).

INTP probably makes the most sense for me, as most of the time I like being alone, with the things I like to ponder over, explore, chat about, listen to etc.. At school I was always regarded as smart/clever one, as well as being quiet. I was chosen to be Velma from Scooby-Doo at playtimes (years before I started wearing glasses) and I later understood why. 🤓

The thing is I get ENTPs (especially the gentler ones) more than most INTPs (this is in real-life, and I'm not especially aligned to any online). They often hold back their 'crazy' energy but it inevitably spills out, to their benefit (witty, fun) or detriment (hurting others). I've unintentionally made people laugh or offended them far too many times. 🙈 I get annoyed when people don't like my ideas or don't consider them valuable (more than if they just don't like how I come across). I find myself correcting people or finishing their sentences, but try to tone down correcting others as some don't like it. I can lead, but I don't like power for the sake of it. I like proving people wrong, but it's a collective win far more than an ego boost. I love contradictions in people's personalities and situations. Rules aren't there to be broken, but bending them is fun. I go against the grain (but like to pinch a bit of it too 🌾). I am feeling under the weather but typing all this anyway. 😅

Feel free to ask more or look at previous posts + comments ☺️)

Shellback Crabs (Genus Hypoconcha): these crabs create their own shields using discarded clamshells, and they have semi-membranous bodies that can be pressed into the contours of the shell, producing a suction mechanism that holds it firmly in place

Paint The Sky with Stars studio gates (exclusive photo 🤩)

This is a photo of the gates leading into Enya's recording studio, Aigle. 🤩⚜️🍃🌟

The photo was taken by u/Captain_safe_socks, who works at Aigle; he took the photo today (28th July) and kindly agreed for us as mods to share it with the subreddit. 😁

Waulking song (inspired Enya's song Ebudae) 💙

Enya's 1991 song Ebudae was inspired by this waulking tune 😃 another real-life example clip of ladies in the Outer Hebrides waulking tweed is here. This song has grown on me in the past few months 💙

I just thought to share this - a little clip from the 2026 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland (longer segment timestamped here). 😊🎶

Old newspaper articles (1988 and 90s) 📰🔍

I love the 1st one 🥰 links back to this 8th Oct perhaps? I got these from the same site I found this (through an online archive site with free previews).

The crash (incident in July 1997) comes to mind; that happened almost 30 years ago. 💭 Very thankfully Enya recovered, and was back with new music later that year. 💗🎶

Staal (Doctor Who character) and John Healey

John Healey was in UK Parliament previously; I've just noticed him now as the new Chancellor, and thought he looked like this character from Doctor Who. 😅

Enya Watermark-era photoshoot ♡ I wonder who acquired these photos?

Looking through old screenshots, I was reminded of these Enya photos ❣️ They seemed to have been sold on the Spanish eBay site (also congratulations to Spain winning the World Cup:)

I'm not sure about much more detail, but I remember just one interview that took place in Germany where Eithne was wearing this same dark blue dress in the picture.💡

It would be wonderful to see the individual photos from whoever has them 😃

Nicky Ryan's 80th...🌌🎶💝🔊🎨

Nicholas Dominick Ryan, best known as Enya's producer, Nicky Ryan, was born on this day in 1946; he would've turned 80 today (14th July). 😌 Obviously he happily stated it as the 14th of the 7th 😄 (this interview/podcast from 2015). The music in the background was composed by himself: The Echoes of Time.

Happy birthday 'across the universe' Nicky 🌠

Some generated illustrations - thinking of Nicky Ryan on what would've been his 80th birthday 💛🌌🎶

I have a collage of real photos and a clip, but thought to share these as well. The ideas were mine, and interviews and inputs of real photos helped, but yes, these were illustrated with generative AI. ☺️

🙃

I thought I was lucky finding one slot for September, and immediately clicked it, but then got that error message. Should've booked for early November straight after my test (in June; that was booked about 4 months earlier 😅). The earliest ones seem to be in December, but I'd rather take the test without all the Christmastime lighting. It's looking like next year instead, ah well.

My favourite album to listen to on cassette 🌟🎶

The Celts (the 1992 reissue of her debut album, Enya) is perhaps my favourite album to listen to when travelling (on a portable cassette player). 🤗🎶

I'm in Scotland at the moment, and yesterday I both listened through and took these photos of the cassette and its beautiful little booklet. 🥰

The other cassette in the first picture is the Golden Brown single by The Stranglers. 😄

On cassette for The Celts, To Go Beyond (I) is at the end of side 1, and To Go Beyond (II) at side 2/closing the album; a very nice touch. 🎼🌠😊

Piano segment from 1982 🎹 🌄♡

I was doing lots of piano extractions recently and thought to share this here. 🥰 Eithne's playing grand piano on a song called Bailieboro and Me, by Charlie McGettigan. (More info in the description)

She was, and still is, a very talented and heartfelt pianist.❣️🎹

☺️🪴🥷🏻

Just another Enya one I thought of creating, having basically been told to get out more by health professionals recently. 😅 Haha I have no idea who the guy in the background is; this is the original image from 2006 (nice label on the tree: 'plant life' :-D).

Does anyone remember/have the questions for this 'Enya IQ' quiz?

https://preview.redd.it/mjy1ce3blgah1.png?width=677&format=png&auto=webp&s=88c466709449b7289ddad540e743ac709b148f5b

I was skimming through Enya's official Twitter/X page and was reminded of this; it'd be fun to have a go. 😊 In 2021 or so I was only able to access the first page; some question about where Enya lives (the castle haha). It'd be fun to have the list of questions or for the quiz to be uploaded again. 😃
