DOJ announces $1.7B 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' as part of Trump IRS lawsuit settlement

Slush fund for Trump’s pals announced. Just another projection from Trump and republicans claiming money is needed to refund people who were “targeted” by the IRS during the Biden administration

If by targeted they mean caught and persecuted defrauding the US govt then that makes more sense.

MLB app kinda review

I see a post a month ago but I thought I’d bump the subject with a new short review.

Very interesting but infuriating. The dancing dolls is a very cool way to express the game. I’m trying to understand the logic of watching the real video along with the graphical version. It doesn’t seem like you can turn off the video in stadium mode

The bouncy dots substituting for people doesn’t really thrill me. Again seems no way to turn that off.

Took me a bit to sync the game video to the simulation. I’d expect a button to make that sync. It was lots of slidering.

I can’t say it added a whole lot to the experience. However it raised my blood pressure because MLB decided they were smarter than Apple in controlling the app. They made several non-standard choices different from almost all other apps. The circle. Exiting. Controls. Setting level of immersion. Bunch of others.

The key to the best apps is to make them feel part of your physical motions and so when you develop muscle memory from other apps changing that just makes the illusion crash and burn.

It’s like macOS apps written with cross platform systems so nothing works or looks like macOS.

Anyways that’s my quick look.

Now. The rant! Fuck MLB for blocking free games in market from AppleVision. What is the ever lovin point? How many views would they lose from people watching on AVP? Couple hundred? If you’re trying to show off and promote a new revolutionary way of watching a game you don’t do it by blocking the very game fans would watch closely - their home team.

I had to watch Washington to see how it works and all the time I’m trying to carefully evaluate the AVP experience most of my thoughts are how much I hate Washington. I think most fans would have a similar viewpoint.

OpenAI now wants ChatGPT to access your bank accounts

Gee. What could go wrong here? My apologies for a paywall link (and that it’s the Verge). Couldn’t find another source.

Manna Korean BBQ and Hotpot

Just had lunch at Manna in Westerly Parkway. If you’re not familiar with Korean BBQ it’s all you can eat and you select from a menu of meats and seafood which you grill yourself on the grill built into your table.

It was a very enjoyable lunch. The ingredients were very fresh and the service was prompt and friendly. If it’s your first visit they’ll grill the food for you otherwise you do it yourself.

They have a large bar of sauces which you create your own flavor which you can dip the food in.

They’ll bring 2 or 3 types of food and you can order anything as many times as you like. Most food takes just a few min to cook.

They also have a big selection of fruit drinks and boba teas. I had plain iced tea.

The grill has a very strong exhaust fan right over the grill so no smoke or even any smell. My clothes didn’t pickup any odor (compare that to eating at Green Bowl where I have to wash my clothes after).

The restaurant almost has hot pot which they also have an extensive list of soups and a bar of hotpot additions. You can have both for $5 extra.

They have a kimchi bar and a desert bar both included in the price. Most ingredients they have a spicy and plain version.

Specifically I had pork belly, bulgogi, chicken, beef belly, squid, octopus, shrimp and an assortment of veg. I was very satisfied and it was a good value I felt. They ask you stay a maximum of 2 hrs.

Highly recommended. It was quiet at noon at very busy starting at 1. Haven’t had dinner yet which is a little more expensive but they up the.variety to include ribeye and such.

Best food not near downtown

Im craving some nice hearty food but I have been to most restaurants in downtown and want something different. Id check google maps but all the reviews seems too scary.

To be more specific: something really soupy umami and filling.

Too many. I have listened to the majority of people who don’t care but there are too many and force other posts out of the recent list.

So I’m going to change the policy from no restrictions to something a bit more proactive.

Posters are now required to remove posts once they are no longer active (found a spot or rented one offered). You’re on the honor system.

Posts will be removed by moderation automatically after 10 days regardless of their status. Note this will be a manual operation until/if it can be automated by automod.

Subscribers are free to repost if they like which will restart the clock. Unfortunately removed posts cannot be restored so the OP will need to reenter it.

I hope this is a good compromise which still respects the wishes of the subscribers.

Thanks.
