One month post op - Raw Vegetables

I have had a wonderful recovery as far as food goes. I ate pizza, chicken, all the things I love. But I've avoided raw veggies for the whole parasite thing going on in the US.

Yesterday I finally had some salad I made. I had a small salad at lunch and a bigger salad in the evening.

I wake up a few hours after eating - nauseous and having the not so great toilet time twice so far in the past evening and morning. I feel bloated and yucky.

I've seen the talk of raw vegetables in this subreddit before - has anyone successfully implemented raw leafy greens back into their diets?

Also did anyone have any issues with Apples. I had an apple yesterday too and I'm wondering if that contributed. I haven't had many raw fruits and vegetables in a minute, so that could also be it.

Thank you!

EDIT: worth mentioning that I think I just overdid it on what I ate. My entire meals yesterday were cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, apple slices, and a few pieces of chicken with wild rice. I think I just genuinely overdid it on the fresh veggies, which I haven't had much of since surgery, except with other foods like in a sandwich or cooked down in soup.

Fully cooked but red spots all over - blood clots?

The chicken appears fully cooked based on texture - but it's got random red spots all over

Blood clots? Concerning at all? Normal rotisserie? I eat a lot of these but haven't seen this yet lol

Is the "Little Melinda" movie mocking any real movies?

I looked it up and found some show called "Two Fathers" but I'm unsure if that's what the episode is referencing lol, if it's referencing Any real movie at all

Gas stuck in shoulders - 8 days post op

My SHOULDERS 😭

I do not think I walked enough even though I pushed myself. I have my period now and it's making things worse because pain all over...

The shoulder tension and pain is making me dizzy constantly. I have cervical tension issues already from a concussion so it's causing a vertigo flare up. I need relief...

Anyone know any tips? I've been taking 35 minute walks daily and neck and shoulders stretches 2-3x a day. Peppermint tea today. I heard Gas X does nothing because it's already in my shoulders.

Any advice is helpful.

Shoulder and back pain: no joke!

Holy crap the pain! I have the opioids they prescribed but I'm avoiding using them.

I get dizzy with shoulder pain due to a concussion in a previous year. My shoulders and back are so tense and painful today now that all the meds are out of my system...

I'm taking anti nausea as needed and Tylenol. Can anyone recommend anything for the dizziness? My boyfriend has been rubbing my back and shoulders but I still feel horrible and everything is spinning.

Currently in ER - unable to eat without flare up and constant pain, but clear tests

I need advice. I was on a low fat diet after a bad flare up after some sausage. One day I ate a bit of rice and broccoli and two bites of grilled chicken breast (homemade no oil used) and it sent me into deep pain.

The pain meds they gave me (todorol, Tylenol, diluaud) have all not worked to solve the pain or pressure..helped my back but not on my right side/rib.

They are running all these tests and it's all clear. They did a HIDA with no CCK after placing the imaging in and it came back normal but it has no percentage. I think they only gave me a little stimulant beforehand and waited 20 minutes before scanning. It took my GB 18 minutes to get the thing I guess??

Now he's talking about ERCP and GI Consult and I don't know what to do..

I've been in the hospital for 2 days and they keep trying to tell me to eat and I can't because the pain will get WORSE.

I need guidance. My mom and my grandma have both had it removed and it runs in our family. I firmly believe I need it removed. I have gray or yellow stools when I eat. The pain is right below my ribs/in my ribs/on my side and goes to my back (RIGHT SIDE). My labs and all organs appear normal.

But what do I say to help plead my case. I am shy and have issues advocating for myself but I'm trying to be as firm as possible without sounding crazy and saying "TAKE IT OUT EVEN THO THE TESTS ARE NORMAL I KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG"

UPDATE: my latest ultrasound showed SLUDGE. This was after the incorrect HIDA scan (Not for functionality), 1 ultrasound, X-ray, and 2 CTs. If you have pain or symptoms, PLEASE ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!! contact a SURGEON if you have suspicions. The emergency room is meant to diagnose people who are actively dying and will make you wait until the last possible minute to disaster!! Not a bad thing because it's their job, but be aware!!

UPDATE: ITS GONE!! they removed it an hour after discussion with the surgeon. He was frustrated they let me go on so long with symptoms. My ultrasound showed sludge.

He let my next of kin know that my gallbladder was removed and he looked around at nearby organs to be sure it was the issue. My gallbladder had sludge like "molasses" and was dense. He sent it off to pathology for further testing but I'm unsure what for. I feel groggy from surgery and meds but the pain from the surgery is already way less than the pain I felt before. It hurts, but not terribly. My appetite came back a few hours later!! I'm on a mainly broth and gentle foods diet. PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!! As soon as a surgeon heard about my ailments (I had seen him the week before due to concerns from immediate care) and he took control of the situation since he knew me well.

My surgeon also put contrast or something into my tube to see if it was all cleared out. He's very thorough. Highly recommend and if u live in IL and need a good surgeon, look up Dr. Cox. He came straight to my room after hearing about what was going on!

Thank you everyone for the support!!

Breath test solution: what options are there

I couldn't do the breath test with the liquid drink... I went in today and immediately was going to throw up if I drank any more. I couldn't finish in the time they allowed and I left. This was even through an anti nausea medication.

I have gallbladder concerns and an upcoming HIDA scan so my provider wanted me to get this as a backup to ensure it's my gallbladder. However I went to a surgeon today and he says it likely is.

What options are there for this test? I've seen talk of a pill instead of the drink, which I could handle, but the office refused. What do I do?

Gallbladder or Cyclosporiasis: stool talk

This week has been horrible for me.

I got home from a vacation to a beach from Lake Michigan. Two days later after eating unhealthy things all weekend, I ate some sausage and immediately had pain in my LEFT back and side, high heart rate due to it, nausea, and diarrhea. Took a Zofran, got an ultrasound at immediate care, no stones??

Dr said it sounds like I have a dysfunctional gallbladder. it runs in my family, we all get them removed in our 20s. He recommendeds a HIDA scan and my provider told me to discuss this with a gastrologist.

I don't eat for days. Chug water and eat crackers at first. Then I moved up to homemade chicken soup. Everything is fine except I'm having constipated stool, and it's light in color (what would u even call that color that's like orange/brown but light brown? How do u know if it's Orange or not).

Then yesterday I go to a restaurant and get a chicken breast grilled and some soup. And then hours later, I'm having diarrhea again and nausea. No severe pain like the first time but i feel sick and the diarrhea/soft stool is uncomfortable and frequent. I used to only go one a day nice and solid just last week 😭. I get the shakes during these times too.

I'm kinda stupid and feel so depressed from this. I don't even know what to eat. When I try to eat during these times, I just make my stomach all growly. I'm hungry yet full all the time. I luckily thankfully have a gastrologist appointment on Thursday.

Does this sound like a gallbladder issue? Can anyone relate to any of this? Or should I be concerned this is that whole Diarrhea Parasite going around?

I'm going to the Dr today at immediate care.

Dysfunctional gallbladder - HIDA Scan

I was just at the immediate care/ER for a gallbladder flare up. Not throwing up, but diarrhea and pain in my back and shoulder and nausea badly.

They saw no stones, but the doctor advised me he believes I have a dysfunctional gallbladder. This unfortunately runs in my family and we all get them removed eventually.

I would like it removed ideally since I deal with constant acid reflux, stomach irritation, pain, and general stomach issues. I need a HIDA scan and since I have decent insurance with no need for referral, I will likely get one soon.

What was everyone's experience? I only get reactions to fatty or greasy foods. And how soon has everyone had a dysfunctional but not blocked gallbladder removed?

Thank you!

Can egg cracking happen twice

I was a young teen when I came out as a trans/nonbinary person. I was severely punished by my family for my choice and I went back on it. I became a woman and I work in business so I'm a woman everywhere. It's years later now.

But I get itchy. So itchy if my hair is long. I long to be a feminine man, but everyone likes me better as a woman. It's easier and I want to be loved.

My boyfriend encourages me to explore my identity but I'm terrified of disappointing anyone. Even more so since I took it back since no one accepted it when I was young.

I feel so happy when I think to myself that I'm a guy. I used to identify as a demiboy. I miss it. I cut my hair recently and it's only making it stronger.

I have no dysphoria except when I'm being viewed by other people. I can feel myself inside happy and joyful when I am viewed as a male. But I don't want to abandon my life as a girl either, hence the nonbinary.

I guess I'm just confused. Has anyone else experienced two realizations? Or chosen to go back into the closet?

BV and Yeast... Experiences with meds + probiotic recommendations?

Hot humid rainy summer and being sexually active has not been beneficial for me this year... I tend to get a fussy vagina unless I wash after sex.

I was diagnosed with BV and Yeast. Dr prescribed flucanazole first (which I took) and then when the results came back, I was prescribed metronidazole gel as well.

I heard that the antibiotic can cause yeast infections. I have one flucanazole left to take after I'm done with the antibiotic, in case of yeast infection.

I'm wondering what's the best probiotic to take for this. I don't normally take them and there are a lot of different opinions on reddit but for different situations.

TDLR: what probiotic is best for BV and Yeast at the same time, AND when do I take it? After the antibiotic treatment? Can Flucanazole be taken with probiotics...

Jbl vs JLab?

Hello!

Looking for advice/recommendations for new earbuds. Just lost my case on my walk this morning...

I currently have jbl earbuds and they work great but I'm wondering if I can downgrade to Jlab for price purposes.

What is the quality difference? Noise cancelling and battery life is important to me. Good audio quality is decently important to me. Durability is extremely important to me, because I tend to be clumsy.

Also open to any other brand recommendations
