OTR finally caught up with me

I’m a recent CDL graduate. I thought I got lucky when I was hired to drive tankers in the oilfield. It was great money. I got a taste of that good trucking life. I was unexpectedly let go when the company made some budget cuts.

I spent some time browsing and applying for local jobs, but couldn’t land anything I was happy with. I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and do my time over the road.

I took a job with Melton Truck Lines. I’m going to the pre-employment evaluation in Tulsa on Monday. If anyone has any advice on OTR flatbed work or Melton, comment below. I’d love to hear what you have to say!

I’m a newbie but I know my place. Got to start somewhere. Looking to get as much experience as I can and hopefully land something better in a year.

Just sharing something I found helpful

I recently found Rabbi Manis Friedman on YouTube. I found the way he explains life, religion, and all sorts of things to be easily understandable so I wanted to share it here for others to enjoy. He also reminds me of my grandfather so that may be influencing my opinion lol. Anyways everyone have a good day and good Shabbos with your family.

I’m selling my marching euphonium

I’ve never sold anything on eBay or Reddit before, so I hope I’m following all the subreddit rules here. Please refer to the listing on eBay: https://ebay.io/m/d3OB3a If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

ISO valve trombone in the key of C

This is following up to my previous question about whether it was worth investing in a valve trombone for banda music.

If anyone has a valve trombone in the key of C that they’d be interested in selling, please let me know. I’ve got a budget of $1000.

If not, I’ll probably end up buying a new one, but I’d like to explore all my options first.

Is it worth investing in a C valve trombone for banda/Latin music?

I have had a rising interest in Latin music over the last couple years, particularly banda. I started playing songs by ear on my trombone, but I’ve noticed I can’t really achieve the sound I want on a normal slide trombone.

I tried using a marching euphonium I have, but it still doesn’t quite fit the bill for the sound I’m going for.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I would like to buy a proper valve trombone, but is it worth it to invest in and learn on a C valve trombone as opposed to one tuned to Bb?

¿Alguien puede recomendar libros sobre el judaísmo en español para un principiante? Me gustaría que mi novia aprendiera más. Paz y bendiciones.

Yamaha YEP-202MS

I have a Yamaha marching euphonium that I’m thinking about selling (possibly). It’s in pretty good shape, just some small denting on one side, but nothing that affects the sound. The bell is flawless. How much do you think it’s probably worth? I bought it used from a school auction.

I just got a CDL Class A and now I’m looking for a job. Any leads are appreciated. I’m not too picky but I’d prefer something local.

I like my YSL-354 better than my 2b

I have a 1960 King 2b in great condition. It’s a beautiful horn. But then there’s my run-of-the-mill Yamaha YSL-354. And you know what? I prefer it! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong on the 2b, but my sound is so much more rich and brilliant on the 354. I never thought I would say this. I guess it goes to show that you sound best on the horn you’re most comfortable with. Any tips for getting a better sound from the 2b?

I’ve been a lurker here since I started CDL school, but I’m proud to announce that I’m officially a CDL Class A holder! Thanks for the tips I found on here.
