Things to do
What are somethings I can do while in the area?
Free is a bonus.
And no, I don’t want to hear the, “there’s nothing to do here.” Lol.
Every place has its own beauty.

Recognize me?
Hi there! This is a very long shot but I adopted my sweet boy about a year and a half ago from a shelter that picked him up outside of a farm supply store in Pecos, Texas. Curiosity has gotten the best of me and I’m looking for anyone who might recognize him. If you do, feel free to comment or DM me. Absolutely judgment free zone. I know there’s a lot of reasons why a dog isn’t a good fit for a home, not to mention how expensive it can be ♥️ just know he’s very loved, happy and healthy.
When I adopted him, they told me he was about a year old (but I think he’s a little bit older) and he came fairly well behaved, walked on a leash really well, seem to be crate trained, and is very friendly with all people and other animals. His vet does think he had some kind of ACL injury on his left leg, which might be part of the reason he was a stray. His DNA results say he is a mix of four breeds, so I feel like he might’ve been a farm dog that was bred intentionally and maybe was the runt of the group since he’s fairly small at 45 pounds.
If there is a different sub Reddit that would make more sense for me to post on, I am open to all suggestions. Thank you!
Scary stories and west Texas folklore
I am a horror writer living in Midland, and I am looking for some creative inspiration in the way of where I live currently. So I would love any spooky stories or local/west Texas folklore that any of you would be willing to share.
Looking for photography subjects in Midland - Urban Decay, Industrial, Water Features, or Liminal Spaces
Good evening all. As the description says, I'm looking for places to go and reignite my love of photography. I'm not looking for anywhere I'd have to trespass, not looking to get shot lol, I'm just looking for interesting places where I might find that kind of subject matter that is also publicly accessible in Midland. Twilight or after dark accessible would be a bonus, I like playing with my camera settings in low light, and I did just add a number of variable ND filters that can make that even more fun. Any recommendations would be appreciated. On that note, I'd like to wish everyone a great holiday weekend in advance
Try this again. So I’m looking forward work, I have experience as a helper for roustabout stuff.
I’m 22 dependable and can pass a drug test.
sunset in west texas

Hillbillies at bars
Rant:
always get these dumb dudes assuming I agree with them because I’m a white guy, talking to me about politics at bars. They live in a bubble and are embarrassingly ignorant. I’m sure they have hypothetical arguments about what they believe in while taking a shower, but they always melt under the heat. They can’t even repeat a stupid Tucker Carlson talking point. I asked a guy the other day what the letters DEI stand for and all he could do was shout at me, bleary-eyed, where are you from??! MF, I’m born and raised here. The call is coming from inside the house.
Safe hotel in Midland for one night
Hi all. I am moving from DFW to El Paso and plan on staying in Midland for the night. I'm bringing most of my goods with me in my car. However, browsing through this sub it seems that people get stuff stolen out of their cars frequently. I was wondering what would be the best areas/hotels to stay in where I don't have to worry about this? I'm not bringing any furniture, mostly just cardboard boxes and storage bins with my stuff.
Vet Recommends
I just took in a stray puppy. I just want to know if anyone knows of any cheap vet in the area that they recommend. She's already been expensive and I just got her. I'm prepared for her to drain my bank account but I'm trying to make it Gentle.

Race track
Hi all! Does anyone know what’s up with that abandoned race track? Is there a way to access it?
If I had to guess it’s probably private property but maybe there are cases or events when they let people in?
Can anyone afford to go to the car show in Odessa this weekend?
I wanted to take my 5-year-old God son to the West Texas Super Show at the coliseum in Odessa- the cost is $147.72 for 4 tickets or $50 a piece to go in. That's $100 for me and him throw in the cost of drinks etc.. I guess that we will stay home this weekend.
