The closed beta of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has started! It will be open until the 5th of July. You can get access to it by preordering the game on any platform.

Alternatively, the associated Discord server is also currently running a giveaway for closed beta access.

Search committee announced for vice president and director of athletics

Virginia Tech has formed the search committee tasked with recruiting the next vice president and director of athletics.

Lynne Doughtie ’85, retired chairperson and CEO of KPMG LLP, will chair the search committee, whose members are:

  • Mario Ferruzzi, dean, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
  • James Franklin, head football coach
  • Jen Irish, Charles P. Lunsford Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering, and faculty athletics representative
  • Quinton J. Nottingham ’89, M.S. ’91, Ph.D. ’95, associate professor and department head, Department of Business Information Technology, Pamplin College of Business
  • J. Pearson ’87, member of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors
  • Mehul Sanghani ’98, member of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors
  • Amy Sebring, executive vice president and chief operating officer

The national search will be assisted by Parker Executive Search, which is also the search firm hired to recruit the university president.

As part of the BOV meeting on June 1st, there will be a vote to update bylaws to remove term limits for the Rector and Vice Rector - effectively allowing John Rocovich to serve forever

This is inevitably going to be under the radar due to the amount of attention the creation of Hokie Ventures LLC will be getting.
