Received an item advertised as “handmade organic cotton” but is actually fully synthetic, mass produced. Possible to get a partial refund?

I like the look of the item and would still like to keep it, but I definitely feel like it was falsely advertised. Would Poshmark do a partial refund? Or should I just cut my losses and send it back for a full refund?

Seller responded that she listed the item 5 years ago and “couldn’t remember what the tag said.” Yet, the comments she also made 5 years ago to a potential buyer were straight up lies. She stated it was a handmade item, made from 100% organic combed cotton. When it arrived, the tag clearly indicated it was made in China, and only contained rayon and nylon.

Tone/attitude policing?

My partner is near constantly telling me to change my tone or asking me why I have an attitude over the past 10 years. It’s one of the things that has never changed throughout our relationship. I do have a bit of a monotone voice, and sometimes I can be blunt, but I try to work on it, and I never say anything rude or mean to my partner no matter what.

We’ve been together for so long now that I feel like he should know I don’t have a “bubbly” personality, and I don’t want to try and put one on just to make him feel better. But, I always question if I’m in the wrong. Is the constant attitude policing a form of emotional manipulation/abuse?

Paxil pros & cons (thinking about switching)

I’ve been on Paxil 20mg for about 2 years now (I think) and while it has done some good for me, I’m thinking about trying to switch to a different medication. Here’s what I’ve noticed while taking it:

Pros

•My social anxiety is pretty much gone. I work with people every day and I used to get so anxious when interacting with them, especially if an interaction deviated from the norm. I would almost be sweating. Even going to the grocery store was a stressful experience - I’d be jumping when someone rounded the corner. That’s now completely gone and I’m way more confident.

•No more ups and downs with my mood. Things used to upset me very easily, but I’m more easygoing now.

•I don’t obsess over things anymore. When not on medication, I would obsess over things in the past, dread the future, etc.

Cons

•The side effects when starting out were pretty bad. I felt out of it, had dizziness, and it had a heavy sedative effect for the first 2 or so weeks.

•Libido has tanked. I now only actually want to have sex maybe once a month or so, and it doesn’t feel nearly as pleasurable.

•Weight gain. Before starting, I tended to keep my weight around 150lbs without having to do much. I was at that weight for many years. After starting Paxil, I went up to 170lbs in a year. I can go higher than that if I’m not careful about my diet. Even when I do diet and exercise, my weight doesn’t change.

•Hard to feel any emotions. This is great for my anxiety and depression, but I also just don’t feel as happy during the good times. I noticed this when my pharmacy and doctor’s office had a miscommunication resulting in me having to be off of it for 2 weeks. I could laugh a lot easier, and even music sounded better.

•No motivation. I guess this kind of goes along with the point above, but it’s hard for me to even want to do the things I like.

•Withdrawals! When I was off of it for 2 weeks, I started having the worst brain zaps. Every time I would move my eyes, it was a jolt to the head. I also started to experience nausea and dizziness, worsening every day until I could finally go back on it.

I would love to hear if anyone has had the same or similar experiences, and if you were able to successfully switch to a different medication. I was originally on Zoloft 50mg, and I told my doctor it was working ok, just not as much as I’d hoped. My doctor put me on Paxil 20mg and looking back, I’m kind of shocked she chose to jump to that one instead of trying others first, but I didn’t know anything about Paxil at the time.

First impressions of Solstice Scents as a first time indie buyer

I received a 2oz of Violet Mallow, two perfume oils - Iced Wisteria and Iced Nectar, and a 1ml sample of Astral Temple.

Violet Mallow: first of all I love the label and the frosted glass bottle! The scent is pretty much exactly what I expected: violets and marshmallows with some vanilla as well. I haven’t tested on skin yet, but I’m guessing the musk will come through when I do.

Iced Nectar: again, love the little cobalt bottles. I definitely get realistic mango ice cream with some apricot jam and sweet waffle cone. I’m amazed at how the perfumer was able to capture all of that!

Iced Wisteria: wisteria and lilacs. There is a slight sharpness here when first applied, like an alcohol, but it mellows out once it dries down. If you like lilacs and sugar, you’ll like this.

Astral Temple: this one stole the show, I wish I had gotten a bigger size. It’s so gothic and romantic. Sweet incense and patchouli.

Looking for a perfume that my late coworker was wearing in the mid 2010s!

My coworker was in her late 60s/early 70s at this time. She said her husband bought it for her and it was expensive. I remember it smelled fizzy and slightly citrusy. Always made me think of soda, specifically Sprite. It was GORGEOUS. I always meant to ask her what it was called but I never did, and she passed away several years ago.

We live in a very rural area, and she didn’t do much traveling. I assume it would have been something you could get at a department store in a mall, as I don’t see her husband ordering anything online.

My expectations on finding the exact perfume are pretty low, but if anyone knows of any fizzy citrus-type fragrances from the 2000s and 2010s, that would be greatly appreciated! I think of her often and would love to have a scent to remember her by.
