I finally got a PVM and I recently picked-up and fixed this dual stick, so I wanted to get them going (unfortunately, Project Phantasma doesn't support analog... so it plays more like an arcade stick as this set up)
Just set up the majority of my wall, and discovered Infinity Castle is available to stream in my region today! (I 100% dont have an optimized set up by connecting via HDMI from PC; and I am still impressed, especially with the lights out)
34XBR960 - Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
*the gameboy case is only a case, sorry if that gets expectations up...
I dont have all the shelving and such yet but wanted to get them into the room. Eventually, it will be a gamer cave. Most of my sets are pretty boring, but they create a neat little collective.
Context: came in for a shake, and this was the amount of weight on the wheel. Removing it all and spinning it again showed it needed a 1/4 of that (not great but significantly better
Found this when purchasing other retro tech to refurbish. All but the down input and C input were working. Disassembled, cleaned up the insides, put it all back together and everything works as it should. (Love when it is an easy fix)
So i finally decided to try and adjust out the bottom bowing up of the screen as well as attempt to get some of the overscan in the right spots. At one point, I had it adjusted to better geometry but caused faded color and the bottom corner to only shade green. I spun the rings basically 180° and my colors went back to normal. I adjusted the drive and focus pots to get it it looking sharp and put it back together. The bowing improved enough for me to feel better about it. Took it to work and gamed out a bit on lunch, and got spooked. When I turned it on, the screen showed a triangular, wavy pattern rising from bottom to top; not too aggressive but noticeable, especially on mostly white screens (PS1 Launch). I though maybe I turned the voltage up too much, but after some time thinking about it I plugged it into a different socket at the shop; it improved. When I got home and tested again, the waves were gone. Remember, sometimes the electricity supply can be the issue.
I may go back eventually and replace it again with a proper gray cable, but I just wanted to get this legendary piece of equipment working
Always wanted the PS1 Hosas, and now I have it. Going to have a blast going through Mechwarrior 2 again. (Funny enought, I have a twin stick and MW2 for Saturn and never thought to try it)
Picked this up on my way into work today, had some time before my shift to get it working. I fixed the speaker cover after this photo. Gonna do some more cleaning
Trans filters shouldn't be able to be stand-in maracas. Or maybe they should, and I'll start a shop Mariachi
On the floor with a model and the Flinstones movie on cassette.
I have seen some exploded compressors, but this one missing metal material on the outer clutch plate is something.
Possibly the best employee on the team
Pretty proud of the solder points I did. Its a bit excessive to ask to convert your existing OE remote that controls the TV, but not the service menu, to a remote that controls the service menu, but not the TV. Also, jokes on me, there is no adjustments for tilt or convergence.
