People exiting through the front of the bus.

Has anyone else noticed how this practice has increased? I’ve gotten bumped into and shoved out of the way boarding the bus by people rushing out the front when the back of the bus and the exit there is clear. What gives? It’s super frustrating when they go against the flow of 5 peope trying to board. 😤

Is the Hollywood sign or any other sights going to be lit up for Dolly?

I was just thinking how cool it would be if the Hollywood sign was lit pink for her in honor of all she did for us. I know NYC is going to light up the Empire State. Will LA do anything special?

All Stars Memory Loss (ASML)

Ever since the bracket system was put into place, does anyone else suffer from All Stars Memory Loss? It’s like SO many queens are featured in such a short amount of time that I can’t even keep track of everyone and everything, and it kinda sucks. I forget what happened in Bracket 1 already (Morgan!?), I barely remember Hershii even though I adore her and don’t even ask me what happened in All Stars 10 because that’s a huge blur now. I know this type of system showcases queens for at least three episodes but yeah, my iced coffee’d brain is fried my divas.

If your Subaru is parked on NE 41st and Hancock you might wanna get it.

Before it’s towed.

Portland Pride is like a hometown fare/Memorial Day weekend and why is that?

We’re as big as many mid sized cities in the rest of the country and yet our pride tends to be more like a 4th of July bbq or a block party and not a PRIDE blowout celebration. Heck even Long Beach, CA has a huge pride. Is it because we’re just kind of a nerdy little sister on the west coast and leave the big circuit parties to San Francisco and LA? When I was younger I used to lament this about Portland but now that I am older I am more okay with it I guess. But still, for a city as young, creative and queer Portlands pride is very sleepy. Any insights, snark or jokes appreciated. Happy Pride season y’all!

Thank you Burlington!

Hello! I never got a proper chance to thank y’all. I moved to Burlington from Portland, OR, completely blind, having never been to the East Coast or New England in my life. When my friends told me they were going to open a dispensary there, we hopped in an overstuffed Subaru Forester, hit the highway, and never looked back. It was INSANE. So many firsts for me: my first creemee; seeing cemeteries from Revolutionary times (woah!); old, old, old homes; camping from Long Island, NY, all the way up to Acadia in Maine; seeing the other Portland (well, the original); going to Ogunquit and P-town; and exploring NYC and Manhattan for my first time. Experiencing a New England summer—my god, it was so fucking humid, and the rainstorms and thunder were insane. I saw fireflies, which at first made me think I was having a stroke until my friend explained that they were just lightning bugs and were indeed real. I lived in the Old North End in a really shitty apartment complex, but we made the most of it. I had serious sticker shock seeing the prices of Mexican food in town (that burrito place that charges you extra for salsa, wtf!). I spent many lonely nights feeling completely lost, wandering Burlington at night—going to parks, sauntering through the cemeteries, getting too drunk and hungover at the dive bars, and exploring Hannafords. It was honestly an insane fever dream, and I am so grateful I did it. Burlington reminded me SO much of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest in the most interesting and unexpected ways, and yet it was completely different and unique. I did end up coming back to the West Coast—the Pacific Ocean just has too much of a hold on me and my heart. But Burlington will always be special to me. I made some wonderful friends. I was embraced, welcomed, and shown so much warmth and hospitality. Thank you for that.

If y’all ever come to Portland, holler! You've got a friend and a food cart buddy here in the City of Roses. Cheers, Burlington. Please never stop being you!

Soho house pool and roof update.

I keep seeing posts about it. This is the current state of it. I don’t see pool parties happening anytime soon so look elsewhere until further notice.
