300°E, Zhuhai by Vitamin Manifest** **was recorded in a single session using shortwave numbers station recordings, our own field recordings on cassettes, a synth, a Nintendo 3DS, a telephone pickup coil and all the noises and interference electronics were producing.

The EP is, in part, an homage to numbers stations: mysterious shortwave broadcasts of numbers, words, and letters, generally associated with coded intelligence communications. Many have operated for decades; some continue broadcasting to this day.

My partner and I have been making noise together for years, but we rarely publish stuff. We just put out a new EP: two tracks recorded live in one session using our field recordings from cassettes, shortwave numbers stations, a synth, Nintendo 3DS, a telephone pickup coil and whatever other noise we could get out of the setup. No overdubs or production afterwards.

We also self-released a short run of 10 home-dubbed, hand-stamped cassettes. Here’s a little video of me having fun making them.
