What do I say to someone who is dying of cancer?

My family is sending a card to an aunt who is dying of cancer. She’s been in remission for while and now it’s back and worse than ever. She’s not doing chemo. I haven’t seen my aunt in years. We were closer when I was young, but not like a super close relationship. Part of our distance now is due to completely opposing political beliefs. Like, she hates trans people and doesn’t know that I’m trans for a reason.

I don’t want to be cold, though. Cancer is fucking awful. But what can anyone say? I still care about her.

edit. Thanks everyone. I wrote “Thank you so much for being such a huge part of my life. I will always remember the good times we've had, especially when I as a kid. l love you lots.”

As for the political thing, I don’t mean to begin a debate. Every family relationship is person and I don’t believe there’s one right way to do something.

Reddit keeps turning my replies into separate comments.

Hi. If I try to reply to someone, it automatically registers as a separate comment that’s not on the convo thread. It just started today out of nowhere. I deleted the app and got it again, but no dice. Can anyone help?

made my first IRL friend in awhile and got my dream shiny ✨ from a trade!! (read description)

so, i’m homebound and bedbound for most of the day. several years ago before my accident, i met someone at a coffee shop through a craft day who mentioned they needed to make more friends and get out of the house more. we chatted sparingly through text and sent gifts through POGO, but i finally got the courage to ask her over and we had a blast!! we watched some fun trash TV and did a lucky trade. she got a shiny female combee and i got a shiny roggenrola. win win.

what’s this disgusting looking bug i found on my bed? 🫣🫣

i found this disgusting little creep on my bed when i was changing my sheets. i freaked out and check all over my sheets, floor, and room and thankfully couldn’t find anything like it. it’s very dead.

if it helps: i live in the mountain west united states. my room is in the basement, kept cold, no windows that open without a screen. the screen is not damaged. i have a detached bathroom that’s kitty corner to my room, as well as a furnace room with a water softener in it.

i’m bed bound for about 18 hours a day, but i shower daily and change my sheets a lot. please someone tell me this is just some random nasty bug and not a sign of a bigger problem 🤢

RE: disability rep, from a japanese perspective (pinhead for tax)

**this is not meant to be a political discussion/debate, but how representation differs in japan in relation to the game**

hey everyone, there’s been a lot of discussion regarding disability representation in the game, but i’m afraid a lot of people are missing big cultural contexts from japan. for reference, i’m japanese and severely disabled. i’m almost entirely homebound and bedbound, but when i am able to be up or out for appointments, i use a walker, wheelchair, and knee braces. i lived in japan for almost 25 years before moving to the united states.

japan is, unfortunately, so incredibly far behind in disability representation. disability is still often seen as a lack of willpower or even a moral failing. there are hardly any programs for disabled folks, especially younger. both physical and mental/psychological disability representation is practically non-existent. it’s so hard to get help, our cities and rural towns have little to know disability accommodations even for the blind and deaf, and we’re taught to not complain about anything and to keep our problems to ourselves.

the fact that they even put in nonbinary was shocking it me because it’s so homophobic and transphobic there. i definitely wish there were disability items, but we (gamers, all over the world) currently don’t have any mainstream games where that representation is present (that i know of, please correct me if wrong). i think workable wheelchairs and mobility aids would be a start, but it’s a very american/western perspective to expect these things from a game made in japan. it’s an entirely different world over there, having lived in both. disabled people aren’t part of social or political conversations in the mainstream, so implementing disability rep in a game made here sounds incredibly fantastical and far-fetched.

unfortunately, i don’t think we’ll see it implemented anytime soon. i would love that, but please keep in mind that the game developers and japanese citizens hardly even think of disability at all, unlike some western cultures (although i know it’s far from perfect).

i’m always shocked and pleased to see disability rep in commercials or online, for makeup campaigns or likewise here in the USA. and please do not use this post in bad faith for a “japan bad” rhetoric, just that we’re behind on a lot of issues that need to be addressed. there are good people and good efforts everywhere. thanks 🙇

p.s. i love people’s custom wheelchair dresses and mobility aid items!!

edit: a lot of people putting words in my mouth. i never said it was only a japanese issue and i never said we should stop trying to advocate. that’s what some people who didn’t read my post carefully assumed and it’s not true

she said she fell asleep on the tattoo table and that her artist is now in prison for drug sales and domestic violence (the irony of tattooing medusa makes it even worse)

no clue if he even used a stencil pr what his portfolio looks like, but i guarantee it doesn’t look like the work on the second slide. this is absolutely partially the client’s and artist’s fault. she claims to have a new artist who can “fix it up”. i doubt it lmao

she PAID 4k for this too

edit: i believe the original is from boyetattoo
edit 2: yall stop saying this looks like a person with a disability. it’s lame as fuck and every person can become disabled anytime. chill
