Marathon training recovery protocol, runners share your approach
Training for my third marathon with recurring calf tightness. Running coach suggested trying hyperbaric sessions for recovery support between long run weeks.
Currently at 50 to 60 miles weekly with long runs hitting 18 to 20 miles. Recovery between hard efforts has been slower this training cycle.
For distance runners using this, how did you schedule sessions around training? Recovery days, after hard workouts, during taper week?
Curious if you noticed improvements in recovery markers. Soreness duration, readiness for next workout, overall fatigue management?
Planning to start after my next rest week and track how it affects training progression.
