Anyone got examples of post-apocalyptic cyberpunk media?

I was remembering a scene from a book i read like 30 years ago where a guy is (iirc) about to get intimate with someone and the tech in his stomach area starts talking to him and freaks out the woman. I think the story took place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with leftover tech still existent but i can’t remember the series. I thought it might’ve been called battle or war world but I that’s not the most descriptive name to find it. Anyway, just looking for movies or books or comics where high-tech low living in a wasteland is a thing.

Cosmo oven not lighting

The broiler does light but the oven is not lighting. I took the heat spreader off and waited to see if it glowed, it didn’t. I have searched the model on amazon and can’t see an exact match, just a bunch of generics that i don’t mind using, just want to make sure they’ll work even if they require splicing in.

I suggested swapping the two and using a lighter to light the broiler but my boss rolled her eyes at me.

I’ve been seeing maturity used instead of puberty or of age in a couple fics now. Is this a cultural thing or some new term linked to something else that i’ve yet to see?

E.g., first maturity for puberty and second maturity for of age.

Imagine all the ways in Harry Potter to compel truth and yet, we see Death Eaters get off with slaps on the wrists, saying they were compelled.(see text for rest)

Aside from the plot holes or truth potions perhaps being written/thought of after the relevant plotline being introduced/published, whats your head-canon for why truth potions/spells or other ways to compel testimonies wouldn’t be used in courts?

Are there any stories where James and Lily come back second year or later?

I was driving to pick up one of the residents where I work and I had this mental notion of…, I mean, anyone who’s an orphan dreams about their parents coming back. And I was thinking about Star Lord, whose father is an alien. Which got me to thinking about what if James and Lily were replaced at the last moment and taken to fight a battle somewhere far away and it took them 12-15 years to come back. I am not looking for WBWL stories. I’ve yet to read one of those that I enjoyed.

Anyone installed the Junko mod on PS5? Or a good mod to turn junk into components?

I cannot figure out how to use it or find the special quest on Neon.

Does anyone else find it sad and kinda why Peter joined the enemy with how the Marauders are shown to treat him in some fics of the era?

I’ve read only a few Marauder era stories but all save one had Peter the butt of jokes that were often really mean-spirited.

A fic where Salazar Slytherin has many spells engraved into his skin and when he dies, they stop working for anyone else.

Only scene I remember from the story.

Any stories where Dumbledore explores the limits of magic? Or escapes prison sans wand? Or Dumbledore’s next great adventure?

DO you think if the fidelius charm was placed on a wand could it still be used by the secret keeper?

And do you think the spells would be invisible?

A fic where hermione creates a device that sets a save point for her and Harry, where they are reborn at that point in time every time, one or both of them die.

I remember one scene had Ron super angry at Harry because of Bill getting injured or dying because he was helping to hunt down the horcruxes at Harry’s expense. Then he finds out that Harry is paying for the funeral or something along those lines and it’s bankrupting him. There was also a scene where Hermione’s parents were excited about him and their daughter getting together. Then in the next timeline, they were not super excited about it for some reason, I think partially because Harry expected them to be accepting of it?

Are there any AUs that really concentrate on the elements of school like clubs and sports while Harry’s adventures are in the background?

Like choir practice, a school newspaper, various clubs one can join.

I had these elements in a few stories i was working on(though i can’t remember which of the two i was working on concurrently) with one or two elements in dedicated story ideas (a school paper with the Harry Column, a gossip column about Harry’s activities at school). And even though I’m no longer actively writing, I still have ideas pop occasionally i am sad i won’t write.

Do you think Vampires in HP are affected by the traditional anti-vamp tools in vampire mythos? Also, any good fics where Harry is a vampire hunter?

Sunlight – Exposure to sunlight is one of the most universally recognized vulnerabilities, often causing vampires to burn, disintegrate, or turn to dust, reflecting their association with darkness and nocturnal power.

Staking and Decapitation – A wooden stake through the heart or decapitation is a common method to kill or incapacitate

Holy Symbols and Water – Crosses, crucifixes, and holy water are believed to repel vampires due to their association with purity and divine power

Garlic – The strong scent of garlic is traditionally thought to be offensive to vampires, serving as a protective talisman (this lis likely canon as it is commented on when Quirrel reeks of garlic)

Silver – In some legends, silver can harm or weaken vampires, similar to its effect on other supernatural creatures

Running Water – Certain folklore suggests vampires cannot cross running water, limiting their movement

(Yes, I pulled this from AI search result. I know there are more but I am exhausted atm and i would likely forget before i had time to do a better job)

What safety mechanisms are you using for loved ones?

While I don’t work in memory care anymore, I do have a resident that is one-on-one in the house/common area and I’m looking for an alarm for his door that doesn’t connect to other alarms like ring, but will give me a steady tone until I turn it off, so it actually wakes me up in the middle of the night when they try to exit their room and potentially get up to mischief. I have a fall mat in front of his door, but he either has realized that he can step over it or it’s broken.

Looking for a door sensor that will work on its own and set off a siren that has to be silenced.

I have either a broken floor mat or a resident that has realized he can step over it instead of on it when leaving his room. Either way, he is a 1 on 1 in eye sight when in the common areas of the house (stealing food/items that belong to others, playing ‘pranks’ like putting soaps in other’s drinks, appropriating things that aren’t his, throwing items out his window) and I need to be woken up on the nights that I don’t have my overnight staff by an alarm that doesn’t just beep twice then go to sleep(the ring chime on his door.). I don’t want another z-wave device to be added to my ring, just something that works on its own radio channel.

tldr; I need an alarm that will wake me when a specific door is opened and can either be unplugged when not in need or has an on/off switch on the alarm.

Did my best to create Dade Murphy for this run

Corporat. Felt best choice. Normally i end up Nomad but Zero Cool falling into the corpo life felt more realistic than Nomad. Street kid didn’t even cross my mind during creation.
