Bluing a stainless gun?

Flair for attention.

Any tips or tricks for using cold bluing on a stainless steel 1911? I keep eyeing up both regular and reverse two tone 1911’s and I think I would like to do that with mine.

Should I go with an at home method or would it be better to send the frame or slide off to get a Duracoat or Cerakote finish?
