Fish for this tank?

I've had a rough time with trying to grow plants and stabilize this tank over the past few months but the tank parameters are finally good (no nitrates nitrates or ammonia but kind of high pH) and things are finally growing rather than dying.
Now that it's stable i want to stock it with neos but im not sure what else to put in it. It's a 15 gallon and the only filter is the sponge filter in the back. I'd like to have a fish that eats algae, has a small bioload and if there's one that eats detritus that would also be cool.
I've thought about ottos but i'm worried they'll starve after a few days of grazing. The other things i thought of were chili raspborras and khuli loaches; they would look fantastic in this tank but i dont think the khuli loaches would like it until a carpet grows in.
I'm willing to change my filtration system but otherwise i'd like to keep this tank low tech until i get the hang of keeping fish. Anyway, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Treat recs?

Hello!
I have a fat cat on a strict diet but I want to give him fun treats once in a while. I heard freezing sardines was a very healthy option, but I could only find salted sardines which many people warned me against. Does anyone have any other recommendations of enriching treats which may contain nutrients that his fancy feasts may lack?

Thank you!

suggestions on how to change a gold finish to a chrome finish?

i'm considering getting a old mcm lamp from fb and i love it... but it has a gold polished finish on the base that would look 100x better if it was silver chrome. i'm on a tight budget and was wondering if something like aluminum tape would look good?? i'm unsure how to go about it and don't know what the gold finish is on top of so i don't know if i could just buff that off too.
