Does anyone actually simrace?

Purchased my rig to get into sim racing. Was thinking iracing, lmu, auto mobilista, etc.

After trying out lmu, i've come to a realization that i do not find it fun at all. 1 month later and all my time on the rig goes strictly to mastering drifting on assetto corsa and downloading new cars and tracks to play on.

Not what i foreseen this rig being used for, but having much more fun nonetheless. Also, endurance racing is too much of a commitment for someone who only has a few hours to spare on the weekends to play.

Anyone else ditch the racing scene completely for this?

Editing power plan for cpu temps?

New to the community here. Just downloaded content manager, csp, pure, and running the exilitay graphics filters.

Game looks amazing on 4k 144hz with stable fps but my cpu is going crazy.

Most games i play average anywhere from low to high 60s on my 9800x3d and arctic lf3. Assetto with the mentioned mods was doing mid 80s to low 90s!

Anyways, chatgpt mentioned turning my windows power plan from high performance to balanced mode which seemed to help a bit. I am at anywhere from low 60s to low 70s now with spikes in the 80s when i am configuring pure planner or config in game.

Is this normal? Is there any trick to lowering my cpu temps any further or is this just the downside to running the game modded?

In game and software drift settings

A bit lost in trying to configure my set up. Recently built my first rig using an r12 wheel base and luckily have been able to copy some pit house and in game settings for forza horizon 6 that work great.

However, assetto corsa is a completely different game and almost all guides i see are giving completely different inputs.

I would like to start drifting and it would be great to know what everyone is running in game and on there software for settings. Screenshots would be appreciated.

Also, content manager, csm, and pure have been installed. Any clue as to what car packs and tracks i should download to get started and from where?

Unfortunately, figuring out what to download and how to setup ffb correctly have been more of a pain than building the rig itself.

Any help is appreciated.

First build. The OCD delay is real.

Everything from the 8020 that the seat bracket attaches to, the wheel base plate, base plate 8020, foot pedal mount, are all completelty centered. Tolerance of about 1/32" off center. Would've probably been a lot faster if i wasnt staring at a ruler half the time.

First rig and super excited. Just a little anxious to try it since my throttle sensor rj45 would not "click" into place. Hoping it still works and i dont have to return it. I did bend the latch a little once plugged in so hopefully its good enough? Gave a little tug and seemed fine.

Also, yes, it is for my pc and not the ps5. I know moza isn't compatible with it. Just figured id say it before someone pointed it out.

Tlou2... just beat it *SPOILER

Had the game for a few years. Due to new games always coming out, taking a long break from video games, life, and getting into pc building... i stopped at seattle day 3 (ellie's portion). This past month i picked it back up and finally finished it after years. Wow, didn't expect to like abby that much.

Hands down one of the best games i've ever played. Legit sad this adventure is over. Character development, story, and gameplay are all a 10. Don't think i've ever been this invested in a game's story since rdr2.

Wish we could see what happened to Dina and Abby afterwards as they left the story a bit open ended. Hopefully there will be a part 3 to close everything up (i assume that's why they ended it how they did).

Time spent on sim rig compared to other video games

What percentage of your time spent playing video games would you say is spent in your sim rig racing? 50%, 75%?

I ask because i've always been huge into video games and know some people in this community may not feel the same. Whether its grinding twitch shooters, action adventure games, or arpgs, i always look forward to the next big title release to consume what free time i have.

I would hate to build a rig only to feel im neglecting it. Man cave currently has a 5090/9800x3d pc on a 32" oled in one corner, and a ps5 pro on a 55" oled in another. Want to add a sim rig for drifting in another corner but not at the expense of it collecting dust (or the other toys either).

Just wondering if most have lost their love for video games to strictly racing titles to play in their rig or if others have a balance between the two.

4 year old spwb

*Repost since video uploads are horrible quality here.

Paint corrected, ppf'd, ceramic coated since i bought the car new. Hoping i can keep it this way for the remainder of its life.

Broke a piston rod and scored a cylinder at 54k miles. No idea how this happened as i baby the car. Coincidentally, there was another '22 (same year as mine) that just had the same thing happen.

Now have a brand new motor from warranty. Break in oil change just done. Heres to hoping this one lasts.

Considering selling but still up in the air about it.

Scat pack to supra

Have had my 2022 widebody scat pack charger for 4 years now. Its been great, but i think the fomo of not being able to obtain a new mkv supra is getting to me with these cars being discontinued soon.

My dream car is a 911 gt3 and one day i WILL have it. Until then, i feel like this is the closest i will get to that experience.

Love the widebody, but i absolutely miss rowing my own gears. My car is extremely comfortable but feels like im driving an SUV at times and doesn't feel as engaging as i'd like.

Has anyone made the switch from a larger domestic car to the supra? Did you miss the room? The torque? Highly considering selling the scat for a supra. Maybe i just need to sit in one... i'm assuming a test drive is out of the question for most dealers. 6' tall 210lbs if that makes a difference for these 2 doors.
