Best communities for families with kids?

We're moving from out of state with our 8 year old and I already know its going to be hard on him. We're trying to stay under 5 1/2 from Massachusetts because thats where family is mostly, but its still gonna be an adjustment. Where we live now does a lot of community events for kids and families and we were hoping to find a town that also did things like that? Doesnt have to be anything crazy, just something to get him (and probably us) socializing and having fun outside of school.

Good/well researched paranormal/true crime/ufo podcasts hosted by women?

I've listened to Morbid and I enjoyed it. I also liked Heart Starts Pounding, but lately it seems like she does a lot of listener/reddit stories, which I'm not crazy about.

I tried to get into Two Girls One Ghost, but it didnt seem to be researched very well.

I've also noticed a lot of hosts seem to be using reddit *as* their primary source of research lately and, yeah, I love a good reddit rabbit hole as much as the next person, but I'd like something a little more substantial than that in a podcast.

And just about everything I find that ticks these boxes is hosted by men, which is fine, but I'd just really like a good female-led series?

Best music/podcast streaming that isnt Spotify?

I've had Spotify for years and I feel like I'm paying way too much for a service that only "shuffles" through the same 50 -100 songs when I have literally thousands saved. I know I *could* use smart shuffle, and then I'd get the same 50 - 100 songs, plus a handful of random ones I'm not interested in and, tbh thats not at all worth almost $20 a month for the family plan.

I've spend YEARS finding and saving new music, making playlists, listening to and saving podcasts, etc, so I know starting over is going to suck, but it seems like lately they're trying harder and harder to make the service more expensive for less variety.

So what are your preferences? I'm not looking for free, I just want to actually get my money's worth.

This question is probably dumb, but I just sold my childhood home that I inherited. We're looking to buy a new, smaller home around when the school year ends for our kids.

Initially I put the money in our regular bank account because we needed to repair our car pretty quickly and it was the fastest option, but now that thats taken care of and I'm not panicking about it I want to move the money somewhere it wont get touched until we're ready to go.

I'm kind of new to this, since we're generally on a pretty solid budget, so we dont usually have *that* much money that we can keep aside. Is the Credit Karma account even a good idea, or should I have gone with something else?

I currently have 2 sets of ear buds, the j lab earbuds, which work well but fall out too easily and block out too much background noise when I'm out or at work, even if nothing is playing, and the Amazon echo buds which work great, sound great, and are easy enough to hear with, but they hurt my ears SO bad and they also fall out a little too easily.

Neither are "invisible", and they're not comfortable long term, or for sleep/lying down. Any suggestions under $100?
