New to medication, should I actively avoid all foods considered moderate to high potassium?

I'm also on a GLP-1 and have had to add kiwi and edamame to my diet to help cope with side effects (lack of dietary fiber, inability to probably absorb synthetic folate). These things were chosen because they fit into my calorie limit and/or help meat protein requirements.

Unfortunately these are BOTH moderate to high potassium foods, do I need to cut things like this out or is okay as long as avoid like, bananas?

People on both Spironolactone and Propranolol?

I was diagnosed with POTS 4 years ago and have been on Propranolol ever since. It makes my symptoms very mild and I can lead a pretty normal life as long I as drink plenty of water and don't avoid salt.

I have been dealing with hair loss and severe hormonal acne for a while and my doctor prescribed Spironolactone and oral Minoxidil even though she knows I have POTS, am on Propranolol, and Finasteride would be much safer for my blood pressure and heart.

The reasoning is Finasteride causes defects in babies, even though I made it clear that I have no intention of ever being pregnant, do not have a partner, am not looking for a partner, and am having a hysterectomy next summer.

People who have tolerated Spiro, were you on anything like Propranolol at the same time? I've heard for some who have POTS Sprio was really bad, but that for others they tolerated it fine.

Time between applications of topical gels?

My derm PA prescribed Azelaic acid 15% gel to be added after I apply Clindamycin gel 1%, and said I don't need to wait in-between to apply them because they are both gels, just let one dry for a minute and then apply the next. Is this fine?

I have hormonal acne and very large pores, starting Spiro too.

Internet says no, you need to wait 10-15 mins between them. Is the PA right?

Future of Moderation in Regards to the Recent Situation

I know our moderator who has been working very hard to deal with this sub all by themselves is currently reviewing applications. I can't imagine how difficult is must be for them trying to do it all.

I hope that in light of the recent reveal of some very ignorant racist views and remarks going around about the cancelation of Song of the Wasteland, that they sincerely consider their applicant’s views on what constitutes racism and if they consider it acceptable in this sub going forward.

This kind of casual indifference and defense of racist attitudes without consideration of a perspective of the actual people being depicted is very disheartening.

We have white and Asian users saying something is not offensive to Native Americans and African Americans even though they belong to neither category and therefor they don't get to decide what does or doesn't qualify as racism towards them or at minimum, cultural insensitivity.

"What about Korean slavery or Japanese colonialism? You're fine with that." You are comparing unequal situations with the classic whataboutism. A KOREAN author does have the cultural background and an editor from the same culture to address these kind of plots. It IS less problematic how they choose to interpret their own history, even in a purely historical fiction context.

The Korean author in this situation after receiving backlash has admitted they do not have the kind of education and informed perspective to portray the extremely sensitive topic of Native American discrimination and enslavement or African American chattel slavery in this context of romance and/or sexual intimacy between the enslaved and the white enslaver.

The history of these kind of relationships are still a powder keg in a very scarred nation that has not fully confronted it's past and race relations; violence are still high to this day and has been getting worse again.

You can imagine why some might be a little sensitive to it portrayed by someone who doesn't know enough about it's history, yes even with the arguments "wELL iT's jUsT a MaNhWa", 'dOn'T LiKe dOn'T rEaD".

It is okay to ask for better in our fiction. Even in smutty romance fiction. If you seriously don't think fiction has no bearing on reality or is a reflection of it in any capacity, well, you can't fix that kind of ignorance.

You cannot think all things exist in a vacuum and that culture and perspectives throughout the world through literally all of time, are somehow not shaped by the things we create.

Given all that in mind, I will leave this sub if the moderators chosen choose to ignore or allow this casual racism going forward. Who cares? I'm not a top contributor and just one person. True. But I will ensure in other spaces online that it is well known that this sub is okay with racism and how disgusting it is if this is path taken.

Even if money were not a factor are there any reasons to not move to New Zealand that more should consider?

Say I was wealthy enough to buy my way in by investment, and the usual considerations like housing shortages, dental unaffordability, etc. were not a concern. Wouldn't be quite the burden on your health care system due to having private health insurance. Are there other things people are usually not considering before they move that become a problem for them?

I am aware that there is a significant shortage of medical doctors in NZ. I am also aware that a lot of products simply do not ship there or cannot be shipped there because of strict import laws.

*Note, I am not rich. This is a curiosity post that might teach me and others some things people aren't considering that internet searches don't reveal and might drastically change their life or lifestyle.

NZ has always been my "what if..." county, but I understand your systems are also strained and the political climate is shifting. I am not under delusions you live in some kind of socialist leftist utopia that it's been described as in the past decade or so.

Nummular Dermatitis treatment seems pretty potent?

Thought I had ringworm and had been used antifungal cream for 7 weeks. Got a scrapping done today and the PA at the dermatologist's office said no fungus under the microscope, said she believed is was Nummular Dermatitis which google says is a kind of eczema.

She prescribed clobetasol .05% which seems like an extremely strong corticosteroid. Is is normal to be prescribed something so potent as a first treatment?

I'm already dealing with slow healing from a GLP-1 causing a significant calories deficit so I'm concerned but couldn't voice my concerns at my appointment because I didn't realize how strong the cream is.

Also she told me to wash the steroid cream off of my hands after applying it to the patches on my body, but the eczema is ALSO ALL OVER MY HANDS SO WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT THAT. Any insight?

Is it okay to use some Vanicream 30 minutes on top after I use the steroids? My hands are so damn dry from all the frantic hand washing I'd been doing.

Should I wait to lose weight before buying a new mattress?

Have scoliosis and I’m in agony from my mattress which is at least 13-15 years old, it used to be my parents so it’s just worn down, especially on one side because my dads a big dude.

I’m told medium-firm is best for scoliosis, but I’m on a glp-1 medication right now and have about 75 lbs to left to lose, which probably won’t be complete until March 2027. SO my current body only feels relief with a firm mattress.

TL;DR: Should I wait a year to be more fit to buy a medium-firm mattress that is supposedly better for us or do I buy a firm mattress that will alleviate my pain now?

Edit: I am considering this mattress

Korean Stores (and the products they carry) in Jacksonville

Do any of the Korean grocers/marts in Jacksonville sell beauty products?

I've heard a product I'm looking for is often available in these kinds of stores but there are none where I live (Tallahassee)

Can I use conditioner after Ketoconazole shampoo and if so, which one do you recommend? Also which shampoo on off days?

So I've recently added Ketoconazole to help with my hair as well and the stuff is so harsh. It's like I took sandpaper to my hair after only one one wash, guessing the sodium lauryl sulfate is doing it.

Can I use conditioner the same days I use Ketoconazole shampoo? The one all my pharmacies' seem to have stocked next it on the shelf is this (but that probably means nothing):

https://www.vanicream.com/product/free-and-clear-conditioner

Is this something people use?

On the days I don't use Ketoconazole, which shampoo is good? I bought this one for now just cause I needed something:

https://www.aveeno.com/products/oat-milk-blend-shampoo

But it was not an informed buy I just needed something relatively inexpensive for off days.

Does anyone who uses Ketoconazole to aid with their hair loss have any recommendations?

Do the squad comb through computers for malware and viruses or just using the same software I have?

I have Bitdefender which kind of just does it's own thing and lets me know when it's doing a regular scan but I'm pretty sure my laptop has something infecting/affecting it.

Like I'll click buttons and they just don't work until I've refreshed the page or searched something else. Weird flashes across the screen and quick popups on start up that come and go so quick I can't tell what they are except they weren't there before.

Thinking of going in to pay for someone to look at it but Idk yall are just using the same software I download myself or combing through stuff.
