How funny Zenon's last moments were?

His anime counterpart is utterly pathetic; he tries to cut Shadow when he is seemingly distracted, all while roaring loudly. But once the sword shatters into pieces, the roar reduces to a gasp.

Even better, Zenon continues to whimper as he seemingly tries to run away.

If I have to describe Cid in one word, than it would be... frustrating

Don't get me wrong, that does not equate to Cid as being the worst character in the series. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Having someone with both strengths and flaws makes them interesting and Cid is in that category.

To get this out of the room, I don't think "Cid is a psychopath because he got innocent people get caught in his atomic blasts" is not a valid critic. Prior events has already established that Cid never got innocent people involved, with the Seven Shadows being perfect examples. So, anyone who still thinks that way, I only pity you.

The first time I got frustrated with him is during the John Smith arc in Volume 3 where he "betrayed" Shadow Garden by orchestrating the counterfeit scheme. Granted, this ended up being a major benefit, and later iterations would soften this aspect from the source material, which is arguably Cid at his worst.

However, Cid never bothered to apologize to Shadow Garden for what he has done, as from his perspective, Cid costed them millions of dollars. Granted, Shadow Garden didn't showed signs of being angry from Cid's POV, but that said, it seemed too quick for him to just think that everything is "water under the bridge".

When Volume 6 came around, I thought it would be a nice change of pace when Cid finally seems to be on the same level with Shadow Garden, as the two do work together in bringing down a band of corrupt nobles. Only for that to be slightly deflated in Volume 7.

In that volume, Cid received a letter from Alpha that she is going to the Elven Country, but that doesn't seem to be a blip on Cid's radar, and it is the tournament that got him excited.

And by the end, he really didn't read the room enough or just ignored the part where Lalanoa was traumatized by the loss of her parents, which lead him to fake an incurable disease just to "get it out of his check list".

In conclusion, while I do find Cid to be a fun character, however, I do understand how difficult of a person he can be, especially if he thinks prioritizing his list is far more important than his own arm.

[Obsession] The One Wish Willow corrupted a part of Nikki's soul

So, I was looking through the new horror movie, Obsession and I initially believed that what is happening to the "villain", Nikki is that she is being possessed by a demon.

However, an interview with Curry Baker states that the movie is NOT a "possession movie".

Thinking about it, it makes sense. If this has been a typical demon possession plot, it does undermine the themes of the movie.

So, I was thinking deeply and I realized what is happening to Nikki is far worse than a demon taking over her body.

The truth is that... the One Wish Willow has corrupted a part of her soul.

I'm not exactly an expert in religion but I do believed that a soul is a very crucial part of a person. So, I think what is happening to Nikki is that the One Wish Willow is enacting its part on what Bear desired; by cutting a part of Nikki's soul and remolding into someone that can loved Bear.

However, whenever the real Nikki tries to fight back, the wish has to do the only thing that can keep fulfilling its promise, cutting more of Nikki's soul so that Nikki has no control over herself.

So, what we hear from customer service, where he revealed Nikki's blood curdling screams, I'm guessing that was Nikki undergoing the process of having her soul getting cut off bit by bit.

[SPOILERS For Volume 7] Neither Sakura or Lalanoa are worthy for the throne and that is the issue.

First off with Sakura; while I'm not a fan of her character, I can't deny that she has the competence and skills to run politics. However, her main issues are:

  • Lack of empathy. She cannot look beyond her self-centered views on how the world works and how people are carry on their lives. She tries forcibly bringing Alpha or Lalanoa into her little world without input from them.
  • Naive. She has a very black-and-white view on how the world operates. If you tell her that you have to breath in money, she would believed it.
  • Weak. While Sakura may talked big, but in the end, what is the point if she doesn't have the will or conviction to make solid choices of her own, whether they are good or bad. In the end, she would just end up being a mouth piece for whoever is pulling her strings. It is very evident that while she is not a possessed child, society has already looked down on her.

Next we have Lalanoa; I genuinely sympathize with her and I hoped the best for her. However, I can't deny the critics make against her.

  • Lack of skill. No amount of street smarts she acquired for years would help her when clashing against the shrewd politics that run behind the scenes. Every action she takes can leave an impact.
  • Anger. Don't get me wrong, Lalanoa has every right to be furious at the entire country for what they have done, however her goal in usurping the throne to spite everyone would not helped her image, especially when she has ties to one of the most deadly beings in the country. In fact, the country would fear her if Lalanoa allows Nazono free license to murder and execute anyone he pleases.

One part that has to be addressed is how much it parallels Cid and Alpha's relationship.

  • Despite being the better of the two, Alpha's naivety and insensitivity ended up destroying her bond with Cid as it is her choice to leave him post haste following Claire's rescue. Not to mention, how Alpha never bothered to address Zeta's growing extremism and maintained the belief that their childhood bond is enough.
  • Cid is arguably the worst of the two. While he has some earnest reasons to act the way he is, that doesn't make him right in how he handles his relationships. He trampled over Shadow Garden's genuine desires to reach out to him to pursue the next big thing on his check list. Not to mention, how much he winded up traumatizing Lalanoa because he wanted to prioritize said checklist.

In conclusion, we have one girl who is engrossed in the light, while the other is engrossed in darkness.

In defense for Shadow Garden in Volume 7

Now, I learn that there is consensus from people that wonders why Shadow Garden are being incredibly antagonistic in this volume. Personally, I got that too for a time... until I looked deeper and understand that there have been a lot of factors as for their behavior.

  1. They are returning to the country that has hurt them. Now, other countries aren't better either, but the Elven Country is notably the most cruel when it comes to persecuting their possessed children; who knows how many possessed have been hurt or killed, something Alpha, Beta, and Epsilon have first hand experience on.
  2. Alpha, Beta, and Epsilon were victims. Do note that these three, in particular, have been part of nobility, the former two being probably actual princesses. That would make what they have been subjected to be far worse than normal possessed. If you played the Master of Garden game, Alpha is begging for help before being captured by bandits and in the anime, Beta is locked up in a cage.
  3. Granted, Sakura didn't mean any harm and she is by no means an instigator for their hatred. However, do you know who are instigators? The Shadows' other families. I imagined that the Shadows have monitored them and would learn all about their families' sob stories, on how they haven't "forgotten" their children's plight. Basically, just imagine hearing Sakura's insensitive comments over a thousand times.
  4. While they are wrong about Nazono's intentions, they aren't wrong about him being a threat. Nazono has displayed skills far more than any of the participants in the Royal Succession, and given how his techniques is a far cry from Cid's, they have no idea that Nazono is their husbando.

In conclusion, I cannot fault them. They are deeply hurt and angry and wants to abolish the system that ruined them. If Cid had given the okay to allow them to burn the entire country to the ground, they would.

[VOLUME 7 SPOILERS] The mystery behind Lalanoa and her mother

So, there has been several evidence to suggest there is a lot more going on behind Lalanoa and her mother BEYOND just simple, crazed racism. This is confirmed by Secondary, even if you think he is an insane asshole.

First, this can't be a Cult plot because you'd think with their vast resources, it would have been easy to take out Ainoa and Lalanoa quietly. And if you take into the fact that Lalanoa could be a High-Elf, something Eta hypothesizes thanks to Cid teaching her, the Cult would have immediately tried to nab her already.

So clearly, Lalanoa's situation might be tied to the Elven society, more precisely, the nobility.

Granted, most of the nobility don't think Lalanoa can posed a threat to them, especially with her controversial status. However, what if Lalanoa did posed a threat to them, and Lalanoa's own parents knew that.

What if during her travels, Ainoa discovered something that gives undeniable evidence that her daughter, Lalanoa has the most rights to the throne. This is where the High Elf comes in; maybe Ainoa and the King did tests and found out that Lalanoa is a High Elf.

Probably someone within the nobility managed to acquire bits of the truth; someone who also knows the Cult of Diablos, and if the Cult found out, they might considered eliminating all of the families. Afterall, the Cult started out with Olivier, why not repeat the process once more.

This means that the entire smear campaign is little more than a trick to fool the Cult so as for them to not search for Lalanoa.

What If Zeta's family have been rescued?

Let's hypothetically state that Cid did show up to save the fleeing family and slaughtered the Cult coming after them.

Do you think Zeta would have been tempered to not go about with her plans? This is assuming she'd stayed with her family.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 5-6 would not only feature the return of Korkie Kryze, but also an exciting fight between Din and the Season's new villain

Several months ago, I decided to do my own take on The Mandalorian Season 3. The main points I've done are:

  • Follow a story where Din Djarin becomes Mand'alor.
  • Introducing a new villain, based on the Legends continuity, Rom Mohc.
  • Fleshing out establish Mandlorians and featuring new ones.

If you like to know more, click down here:

Episode 5: The Breakout

The episode follows Mando and his crew uncovering news that Korkie Kryze, member of Clan Kryze, is alive. Seeing a perfect tool to go against Bo Katan, Din heads to where Korkie resides on. However, it turns out Korkie has been arrested and is locked out in prison.

Other than finding a way to free Korkie, another complication comes in the form of another Mandalorian named Aran Tal from Star Wars Hunters. Aran was a survivor of the Mandalorian Purge and went into hiding with his other surviving clan members. However, he got word about Korkie's survival and imprisonment and went against his clan's warning to not rescue the man.

This would lead to several antics, though they are mostly overshadowed by the seriousness of the situation, as well as Aran butting heads with Axe, who Aran recognizes as a member of Death Watch.

It is only through working together that they rescued Korkie. Aran becomes slightly respectful for Axe, but still holds resentment towards the man for what Aran sees as the role in Mandalore's fall. That said, Aran forges a friendship with one of the Mandalorian foundlings.

Meanwhile, Rom Mohc orchestrates his "breakout" for Moff Gideon. However, Rom only wants Gideon to reveal about Korkie, who Rom discovered after finding data files about the Mandalorian. Gideon admitted that he had Korkie tracked in the hopes of using him as a bargaining chip to get Bo Katan to back off, however Korkie was found after the Season 2 finale.

Rom is going to execute Gideon, though the latter isn't phased at all, but smiles knowing that Rom would be the one to eradicate every trace of the Mandalorians. I want to show a slight more depth to Gideon, where has respect for Rom and the feeling is mutual. It also shows that Rom is a different type of beast and the fight he and Mando will have would be brutal.

Episode 6: The Clash

This episode would be heavy in action. It begins with Din and his newfound Mandalorians arriving at Bo's home. Bo is ecstatic to see Korkie is alive, but livid upon realizing Din's intentions were.

A tense shouting match happens between Bo and Din, accusing one another for underhanded tactics. However, this gets cut off when Rom Mohc attacks.

The entire episode is a horror-based cat and mouse chase where the Mandalorians have to survive against Rom Mohc and his forces.

Clan Mando (Din's group) would showcase their growth in one up the Imperial soldiers.

Bo and Korkie are stuck together, though while Bo tries to endear to him, Korkie rejects her because he hasn't forgotten how Bo is responsible for Satine's death.

This culminates in Din facing off against Rom, who quickly outmatches Din in every way. However, things get really intense when Rom recognizes Din as the one holding the Darksaber which makes Rom even more vicious. Rom hasn't forgotten that Pre Vizla wielded the Darksaber and lead Death Watch which resulted in Rom's son's death.

He is about to finish off Din before the Gigoran Mandalorian intervened, sacrificing himself in the process.

Meanwhile, R5-D4 would hacked into one of the Imperial Transports to allow the Mandalorians to escape. Rom watches this and orders his men to track the ship, vowing to kill every last Mandalorian.

To summarize; the "Royal Eminence" is a fanfiction series that centers around Cid (last name: Midgar) being born into the Midgar Royal family, with Klaus being his uncle/surrogate father, and Iris and Alexia are his cousins/surrogate sisters.

The current lineup of the Seven Shadows are different:

  • Alpha (same)
  • Beta (Victoria)
  • Gamma (Zeta)
  • Delta (same)
  • Epsilon (Claire Kagenou)
  • Zeta (Kai/Chi)
  • Eta (same)

Named Numbers included those that formerly Beta, Epsilon and Gamma.

Do you think Cid's status as prince affect the events of Volume 7?

Probably not due to how racist the entire country is.

This is during Season 4, where Hex tries to claim the Fountain of Youth to decelerate his age. However, he got foiled and is reverted into a child form.

Then at the end, Charmcaster showed up to take him away. So, the last time we've seen these two together, Charmcaster betrayed Hex. And in Alien Force, the two seemed to be on good terms.

What happened?

Judging by that red-colored, ominious-looking sword, I say that could be Hel, one of the Knights of Rounds, or a high-ranking First Child.

Though, I could be wrong since the Light Novel and most media confirmed that Kai is the only Cult of Diablos turncoat.

The problem with adapting with Resident Evil is that it is hard to encapsulate everything about it into one movie. There are just too many plot threads happening within the games that removing it when making it into a movie is less interesting.

My solution is that the movies won't be legit remakes of the video games, but standalone movies taking place within the universe. The purpose is to showcase other stories that add more in the horrors of bio-terrorism.

Resident Evil (2002)

The movie would take place before the first Resident Game (Original/Remake) where a series of murders are happening in the outskirts of Raccoon City.

Our heroes are a band of police officers who want to investigate the matter and secretly entered the forests to find out the truth.

While the plot is simple and straight-forward, the heart of this movie is the characters; they would act and feel like real people, more in line with a band of brothers and sisters.

There would be emphasis on horror, showcasing the more notable monsters in the initial Resident Evil universe, including zombies, both humans and dogs, and a Hunter.

Resident Evil Apocalypse (2004)

The movie would take place between the initial outbreak of Raccoon City and Resident Evil 2, following Charlie Team, a STARS group after Alpha and Bravo.

While there will be the usual monsters, the horrors come more from the human villains that are tied to the Umbrella Corporation.

Unlike Alpha and Bravo, mostly, Team Charlie are corrupt, being handpicked by Chief Irons and his inner circle to help in preventing any incidents to be tied back to Umbrella.

That said, not all of them are psychopaths, some have their own reasons to be part of this group. Unfortunately, it doesn't change the fact that their actions would play a part as to why the outbreak got as far as it did.

The climax of the movie would have Charlie Team be targeted by Nemesis.

In the end, the movie is about two evil groups battling for dominance while an entire city is literally going to be burned to the ground.

Resident Evil Extinction (2007)

Unsure about the timeline, as it could take place before or concurrent with Resident Evil 4.

Following Resident Evil 2 and 3, we got word that Bio-Terrorism has been a common threat to the world. The movie would showcase one of these incidents.

The story follows a family whose lives are altered when a company enters their town and since then, horrible incidents have been occurring. The family are torn apart, either by the monsters' claws or by their own who have take jobs with the company.

Let's face it, without Shadow, Shadow Garden would not survive a day longer and I'm betting that SG's course of action in Volume 7 is going to be their undoing.

Most likely SG's choice of a puppet ruler would not worked out; in fact Sakura would probably go behind their backs in her obnoxious, self-righteous way.

Then, Shadow comes in and unveils Lalanoa is the "Chosen One" to rule over the Elven Country.

Next volume would be about fleshing Alpha's past and her relationship with Tokiseyuno. However, I don't think the Tokiseryuno are not related to the Cult's plot or the group as a whole.

What if the Tokiseryuno Clan are much like the Kagenou House; households that are ran by incompetent fools.

As stated, the Tokiseryuno's strength and influence has been waning much like the Kagenou went through.

While the circumstances is pretty much the same with everybody, what if Alpha is much like Claire, both were considered their respective families' golden child and contracted possession.

The difference here though is that Claire got Cid to heal her, while Alpha hadn't leading to the Tokiseryuno to discard her and left the public to avoid people finding out after most likely bragging to everyone about their golden child's success to the throne.

The possible reason as to why Alpha chose the Tokiseryuno out of any other group is more than just convenience, she knows that her former clan are just too stupid to be of use to the Cult, which is the reason why Alpha hated the Tokiseryuno very much. There is not outside force controlling them, every bad and stupid decision is solely done by their own hands.

While Alpha doesn't seem to have a soft spot for Sakura, I doubt it was a wholesome type and would be no different to how Cid treats Claire. If Claire gets in trouble, Cid would help out. But if Claire goes into a coma, Cid celebrates. And that's exactly what would be Sakura's fate and how Alpha would respond.

It is also why Alpha and Cid got along well; they both know their families are twits and they only have themselves to rely on.

This is what makes Alpha a foil to Zeta; Zeta's mission is motivated by her old family while Alpha's mission is not remotely at all motivated by her old family.

Personally, I feel like having the Cult be at fault is not narratively satisfying. It would just be an easy scapegoat to automatically make the country seem sympathetic when they are not at all.

The fact that they not only killed an innocent woman for accusations that have little to no basis, but outright cheered it on in such a public manner.

And this isn't like mind control at play here, this is the entire country's true nature. And the worst part? What Lalanoa went through is actually tame compared to the possessed girls.

Let's face it, for all of their talk about their racial purity, the Elves are more susceptible to possession than any other race they have looked down on. They probably have enacted secret networks to remove their possessed children to maintain the illusion. This isn't most likely, but actually happened to Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Epsilon, Eta etc.

If you looked back with Sakura's proclamations that the Tokiseryuno have not forgotten the "pain, sorrow and humiliation" that Kikyou have went through, I sincerely doubt this has been the first time Shadow Garden have heard that.

They probably kept tabs on their country, secretly attending their "anniversaries" of their demise, with their so-called families putting up fake tears and sappy speeches to fool those that attended it. Said speeches being how they haven't forgotten the "pain, sorrow and humiliation" their daughters went through.

Looking through that lens, don't you think the country deserves far worse than having Lalanoa as queen?

When they are afflicted with Possession, which scenario is worse? Either:

  1. The predictable scenario where their families captured her, tortured her and sold her off?
  2. The other scenario where they tried to escape and turn to their acquaintances, like childhood crushes, only for them to sell them out?
