Mod Announcement: Weight Loss Drugs and Adjacent Communities

Hello r/PetiteFitness!

A few months ago, we were made aware of an issue where members of this community were being targeted to join weight loss drugs and adjacent communities (research compounds, peptides, PEDS, etc.) We initially asked you to send us the username of the individual who sent you the request so we could ban them. Unfortunately, banning only suspends the activity of the person in our sub, and they are still able to send these requests to join their sub.

Reddit Admin "discourages sending mass messages get people to join your community" and considers it spam behavior. Moving forward, we ask that you report these messages as spam and if you feel necessary, disable your DMs.

As always, please reach out to us via ModMail should you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you!

Birthday PR: 300x1 / 2.4x my bodyweight

BW: 124lbs

(Before the form police come for me, please remember that when you are putting your body under load you’ve never done before, your form will break down.)

Last week, I tested how many reps of 225 I could do. I ended up doing 225x10, which equates to a 1RM of 300.

So yesterday, as a birthday gift to myself, I decided to try for 300x1.

I am continuously grateful to have a strong and healthy mind, body, and spirit and to be able to pursue my goals and I’m so excited to continue getting stronger and go for even bigger numbers.

(The person filming in the background is my boyfriend.)

How to Set Up a Barbell Back Squat (VIDEO)

Note: to find your vertebrae and avoid setting the bar on it, tuck your chin down to your chest and find the biggest bump at the base of your neck. You want to AVOID placing the bar here, but this will guide you in where to place the bar to create your shelf.

Let me know if you have any questions!

My 5 Year Journey - A story of finding myself again

Photos 1-4: left photo Sept 2024 (190lbs) right photo July 2026 (118 lbs)
Photo 5: my back muscles taken by a friend (July 2026)
Photo 6-7: my GLUTES (June 2026)
Photo 8-10: me at my gymnastics competition (December 2025)
Photos 11-14: Misc Upper Body Flex Pics (June/July 2026)

Growing up, I was a sporty kid. I participated in gymnastics and cheerleading, I loved to swim, constantly in the pool swimming laps, I loved to be outside at my Grandmas wandering her farm and helping with chores. I walked to school for a good portion of my life and was always pretty fit.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t spared from the harsh realities of this world and was shown these things at an early age. Having multiple traumas happen to me young resulted in me developing poor coping mechanisms, which revolved around food.

When I was 19/20, I was in a DV relationship that ended with me in the hospital and months of court proceedings followed. Iand it was after that when I fell into the deepest darkest depression of my life. I shut down and became so depressed, rarely left the house because I was terrified of running into him, and therefore sedentary. This time period is also when I began drinking, adding more stress to my self.

By the time I was 23/24, I was 260 lbs (according to data recorded in August 2021). I don’t have any pictures from that time, though I remember how I felt, and it was lower than low. It was at that time I wanted change and I felt like engaging in fitness again would be a way to reconnect with myself again.

I started working with a registered dietitian and PT, but at the time, I mentally was not ready to start dealing with the food portion. I was “eating clean”, I was “working out” (not really training), I was going all the things I thought I should be doing - but I really wasn’t and ultimately I stopped seeing the RD and personal trainer.

I was still drinking alcohol, I was still having big meals, I was drinking a big Starbucks drinks each morning. I was not giving it my all and it showed. I was lying to myself.

If I am being honest, at this time in my life, i can truly say this was the lowest I had ever felt about myself. I did not like who I saw in the mirror, I did not like who I had become. I hated the anxiety I felt leaving the house, constantly worried about how others would perceive me, how I perceived me and assumed they were passing that same judgment onto me. Looking back on it, I missed out on life because I was worried about everyone else and how they viewed me. The only time I really didn’t think about what people thought about me was when I was drinking.

During this time in my fitness and health journey, I sought mental health and alcohol treatment. Sobriety brought so much clarity to my life, clarity into who I was and what I was trying to cover up and hide.

In April 2022, I moved out to the middle of nowhere and lost my car, becoming sedentary again and making poor food choices. However, I wasn’t drinking any longer and I do believe that helped assist about with some initial weight loss.

Being sober and isolated allowed me space from others and situations that would cause me to make bad decisions. I was able to work on myself more because I was able to be alone with myself and really think about myself, my decisions, and my habits. There wasn’t any noise for me to ignore what was going on inside.

It was when I moved again in 2023/2024, I really decided to make a change. At the beginning of 2024, I am unsure what I weighted but decided to start making some changes. Moving more, talking more intentional walks. I got back into the gym and got on a program and started the work.

I started meeting with a registered dietitian to address my diet and unhealthy habits that were holding me back.

Come September 2024, I weighed 190lbs and I was ready. I got a walking pad. I started a calorie deficit, I kept going to the gym and I kept investing into my health account (my health account is all the small, daily actions and commitments I make towards my health) and have done so ever since.

Since Sept 2024, I’ve averaged 6 workout days a week, ~16k steps per day, my calorie deficit has gone from 2000 calories at the time I started to 1600 now. My maintenance is roughly somewhere around 2100-2300 (and I hope to build more muscle so I can eat more LOL). In the beginning, I definitely wasn’t perfect and beat myself up more than I should have for imperfection, but consistency beat imperfection day in and day out. You don’t need to be perfect, just don’t throw in the towel after one mess up.

For the past 22 months, I’ve given myself nothing but love. I learned who I am again, I learned to love myself again, to see the beauty in myself that wasn’t surface level.

I’ve gotten so much stronger than I’ve ever been, both physically and mentally. I’ve learned to enjoy life again without fear being perceived. I’ve learned to love my body again.

My biggest goal was to begin gymnastics again, to be able to move my body in the same way as I did as a kid. I restarted gymnastics and I got second place in my first competition back in the sport after 10+ years.

I can:

Do 10 strict pull ups

Deadlift 285 lbs

Squat 225 lbs

Bench 115 lbs

Overhead press 115 lbs

I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me. I cannot wait to see who I become. I can’t wait to know that version of me because I’ve loved every version of me, even when I didn’t, because they gave me the strength to believe in me.

Progress not perfection: 285x1

In April 2026, I maxed out my deadlift at 285x1. Before anyone says anything, I understand the form in the first video is not perfect.

When you lift heavy, when you push your maxes and push to failure (truly), when your CNS is being pushed to its absolute limit, form can break down. It’s normal for form to break down under maximal load (and any coach worth their salt will tell you this). However, you do not want to continue lifting like that.

So over the past few months, I’ve been working on my starting position and ensuring my lats and core stay engaged while working in the upper range (80-95%) of my max load.

This week I have the chance to work at a fully equipped gym that has everything one would need for powerlifting, and took the opportunity to test this 1RM again - and WOW 🤩 the improvement in the form, the speed in which the bar rose, smooth like butter.

I love lifting so much - every day feels like going to school and learning something new, working on refining my skills and improving. I can’t wait to see what I can do next.

Body Appreciation/Self-Love Thread

Use this thread to show your body some love. We only have one body and it deserves some appreciation no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

Self-love is a practice and comes with daily devotions to oneself. Despite what we have been taught or conditioned to believe, you do not need to hate yourself to become fit or see progress. Self-love, and really any practice, is easier when it comes from a positive place.

Even if you have difficulty finding something to appreciate or love about yourself, I want you to share.

I'll start:

I am grateful that my body has survived unimaginable horrors. I am so grateful that my body allowed me to survive years of domestic violence and to heal from it too.

I love that my childhood participation in sports has helped me far more than I thought it would have in my weight loss journey. When I initially started my weightless journey, I was "afraid" I had lost what I had spent most of my life working on. But I see her, the athlete I once was, the athlete I am. Muscle memory is a real thing, not only in skills/work we can do, but in the way it is able to build back up after not having any at all for a very long time.

I can do two front flips in a row. I can still do gymnastics after taking 10 years off.

I can deadlift 285 lbs. I can squat 215 (on a belt squat, I can do 280).

I am so thankful I can look in the mirror and be proud of the woman standing before me.

Your turn!

First Time Watcher

To preface, I’ve always been a Shojo girl up until very recently. I’ve never been one to watch gritty things, anime or not. I’ve seen things like Demon Slayer and JJK (but I don’t know if I could even compare those two to AOT). It’s been a very recent thing where I watch more “horror” anime, things that dive deeper into the human psyche, into human behaviors, into the darkest parts of humanity.

However, I was sorely mistaken with my stance not to watch shows with these themes.

To the author, the animators, everyone who worked on the manga and anime, the fans, I am so sorry that I wrote this show off… because this show is phenomenal.

In the past couple of days my partner and I have watched S1 & S2 and I am obsessed with this show. It’s FANTASTIC, it’s exhilarating, there’s never been a single dull moment or a lull in the story.

I am keeping a note in my phone with all my theories. I called Annie as a Titan, I also suspected Reiner and Berholdt as Titans (the scene with them taking Eren and Armin up into the woods and Erens gear being broken was just TOO SUS).

I cried at the “Good Ol Days” scene with Hannes, Armin, and Mikasa.

I love how bat-shit crazy Zoe is (I love a weird girl who likes medicine and science experiments).

I still have so many questions that have yet to be answered but I wanted to post here and say how amazing this show is.

I will absolutely be reading the manga.

r/PetiteFitness

Dear Reddit,

I am requesting the removal of u/ imafitmess from the moderator list of r/PetiteFitness and ownership of r/PetiteFitness be moved over to myself u/wilted_melodrama.

On February 2, 2026 - u/ imafitmess made a post requesting additional moderators to the sub. I reached out the same day letting her know I would be interested. I provided the information she requested, and followed up again on 02/14/26, and then on April 7th, 2026 - I was added as a moderator.

At the same time (April 7, 2026), u/ imafitmess informed me that she would be leaving the country and not have access to Reddit for a few weeks so I was left to operate the sub on my own without any training or guidance for while she was away.

From April 7th to May 5th, I did not hear from her.

Through May 5 - May 19, I interviewed u/sarkynir, u/spiceegyal, and u/chickparfait - and attempted to moderate the sub by myself with limited capacity. I was not left with permissions in which I could add the three above users myself after the interview process and due to the intermittent communication issues, I was left having to reach out each time and request she add them.

Timeline:

On May 5, u/ imafitmess reached out saying she was back in the USA and would like to bring another mod on. Asked me to interview. I reached out to u/spiceegyal to conduct an interview.
On May 7, u/ imafitmess reached out to ask if I could interview u/sarkynir. I did.
On May 8, I responded and let her know u/sarkynir and u/spiceegyal would be perfect.
On May 9, u/ imafitmess added both as moderators and asked that I assist in training them.
On May 11, I reached out about mod functions.
On May 15, I reached out again about mod functions after noticing we were all assigned varying degrees of moderation abilities.
On May 18, I reached out again a third time mod functions and adding chickparfait as a mod.
On May 19, chickparfait was added as a mod and mod functions were adjusted.

May 23, 2026 was the last time I have heard from u/ imafitmess.

On May 23, u/ imafitmess reached out inquiring about the changing of the subs icon.
In a Discord conversation, myself, u/chickparfait, u/sarkynir and u/spiceegyal discussed and voted on changing the subreddit icon. She asked “any big changes can we discuss that first?” to which I invited her to the discord. She responded telling me she would make a discord.

I followed up with u/ imafitmess again on May 24, June 1, and June 8, 2026 and have not yet received a response. Outside of adding us as moderators, u/ imafitmess has not had any substantial participation as a moderator or as a member site-wide. The last time she made a comment was on March 29, 2026.

I am requesting u/ imafitmess be removed as a moderator and ownership of r/PetiteFitness be moved over to myself u/wilted_melodrama.

Come Train with Me: Snatches + Pulling

Day 4 of 6

I did a combination of my upper and lower body warmup that I included in my prior two posts, plus a few unloaded barbell snatches.

The workout consisted of:
- Snatches

- Snatch Grip RDL

- Band Assisted Pull Ups + Negatives (the video is sped up so they don’t look as negative as they were)

- Band Assisted Pull Ups

- Narrow Grip Lat Pull Downs

- Face Pulls

- SS: Lat Flys + Front Raises + Around The World Flys

I got some feedback from my coach about my Oly Lifts and some things I can work on but I am very happy with today’s session :)

Tomorrow I will bring you along for my cardio and core routine!
