Hi everyone, I could really use some insights on how my taxes were calculated this month. This is my first time in this salary range, and I’m feeling really confused and a bit shortchanged.

I worked two holidays this August (Aug 21 Special Non-Working, and Aug 31 Legal Holiday). I was expecting a decent bump in my net pay, but it feels like the double pay basically vanished into taxes.

Here is the breakdown comparing my July and August payslips (images attached for reference):

As you can see, I earned about ₱7.2k extra in taxable income from the holiday OT and night differentials, but my withholding tax suddenly spiked by almost ₱6.8k! Basically, 94% of my extra holiday earnings went straight to tax, leaving me with only a ₱448 increase in my net pay.

My questions are:

1. Is this a normal consequence of jumping into a higher tax bracket for the cutoff, or does this look like a payroll computation error?
2. If this is an annualized tax adjustment, shouldn't HR notify us?
3. How should I approach my HR/Payroll team to clarify this computation?

Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!

For context, I just started this job on July 13, and my monthly basic salary jumped from ₱67k (previous job) to ₱115k (current job).

Hey everyone, need some help. I’ve been trying to buy the Samsung Fold 8 on Lazada using my UnionBank credit card (36-month 0% installment), but the payment keeps failing.

What’s been happening:
1st Try: Asked for an OTP. I entered it, but got an error: "We couldn't complete your payment (Error: Do not honor)." I called UB, and they said there was no block on my card.

2nd Try: Loaded very slowly, then said "Order successfully submitted, wait 2-3 mins." Hours passed and nothing happened. Called UB again, and they confirmed no block.

3rd Try: Said "payment successful," but didn't even ask for an OTP. Instead, the order went straight to the "To Pay" section.

Lazada support couldn't give me a clear answer either. Has anyone experienced this, and what should I do?

I’ve been looking for a compact Android phone here in the Philippines and the OnePlus 15T seems like one of the very few good options left.

I already tried the base Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Pixel 10, but I still keep coming back to the 15T because of the size, specs, and overall design.

Problem is, Digital Walker Philippines doesn’t seem to carry it.

Are my chances basically limited to third-party sellers/importers now (Shopee, Lazada, Greenhills, etc.)?

For anyone in the PH who already bought one:

• Where did you get yours?
• Any trusted sellers you can recommend?
• Did you go China ROM/ColorOS or flashed global?
• Any issues with banking apps, Google services, signal, Android Auto, or notifications here in PH?

Would appreciate any tips before I decide since compact Android options are getting really rare now.
