Is it really THAT strange to wear pajamas in public as an adult?

It’s nearly 8pm and I (22F) need to run to the store for a missing dinner ingredient but I’m already showered and in a button up PJ set. It’s Tuesday and I’m 30 hours into a 65 hour workweek- changing back into clothes genuinely sounds torturous. What I’m wondering is if people truly care. My mom always tells me it’s strange to do, but want to gather input elsewhere.

Also to note, I would not do this during the day as I’m a painfully annoying morning person who is dressed and out by 6:30a daily regardless of plans.

The consensus from this wont stop me from going in public at night with jammies on shame free. I will keep proudly repping my modal fabric sets and even a bonnet on occasion regardless of the takes. Ty!

Shocked by the audacity in my local FB childcare group

I understand it isn’t easy when you’re on a budget but childcare swaps? Adjusting shifts? State support programs? I commented “*state* has a decent childcare subsidy program that may be helpful. You may also be able to find a good childcare swap with a parent in a similar situation. That said, exploiting a private childcare professional by paying ~$4/hr isn't only unethical, it's illegal. Good luck!” And her post was deleted maybe 3 minutes later.

For context the minimum wage in our state is over $15 hr and HCOL

Actually cute washable shoes for 22F Sasquatch?

I’m a women’s 11 ee and I cannot for the life of me find wide toe box shoes that are genuinely attractive. Running shoes are fine, just hoping for something a little more y2k grandpa not 2015 grandma. I’m also a career nanny who messes shoes quickly so bonus points for easy cleaning/washing machine friendly. TYIA!

CBP at gosling/woodbury intersection worksite

Not sure of reason, but just a heads up. I know CBP is not ICE but you can never be too careful 🙃

Guaranteed hours with daycare setup

I began with a new NF about a month and a half ago, and the job is a lot but I love it. It’s very house manager forward with a lot of cleaning expected, but I’m compensated for it. I work 9–5 M—F with 40 guaranteed hours, but most days they have me stay 20-45 minutes late, often with little to no notice. They also have asked me to come in 1.5 hrs early with less than 12 hrs notice, and have asked me to come in at 5am with 3 days notice.

That being said, about 2 weeks into starting MB told me NK1.5 would be starting daycare for 3 hrs twice a week, which I’d pick her up from. I would still be getting my 40 hrs guaranteed. She started daycare a week or so later, and on those days I’m expected to pick her up at noon, bring her home for a bath, and put her down before tackling the household chores.

Since NK1.5’s first day, I’ve been asked several times to come in closer to the 9am time to do chores, pick up her brother early, or run errands, all of which is fine by me because I’m keeping myself available for those hours because of guaranteed hours. With that said, I’ve been getting paid those guaranteed hours with no extra for the ~3 extra hours per week in the evening. I know OT is for actual hours worked, but is it fair to request to be paid for the extra time after 5pm at my normal hourly rate unless it passes the 40 hr threshold for OT?

I already summarized this with DB and we’re going to chat about it in person, but I guess I just wanted a better idea of what’s standard. I’m just having a hard time staying so open 5 days a week when I’m only getting paid for 40 hrs with 6 flex hours per week for them to use however they see fit before paying a cent more. Thank you!
