Alto Sax

My Daughter has been in band for 3 years now and we are looking to buy her own for an Intermediate(or proffesionnal) Alto Sax that is reasonable. We will buy a used certified. I did some research but I'm not a music person so looking for some feedback. I know most people will say Yamaha but we have have not tried them yet beside the YAS26 she has from school. We are opened to other brand. Range in the $3k CAN but right now I'm looking at used Lebravo that are around $2K so I'm thinking that is all she need for couple years, although we would spend more for a better horn.

She tried the Jupiter JAS1150, Selmer SAS180RVGL and the P. Mauriat Le Bravo. She really like the Le Bravo, she mentioned how the keys felt easy to press.

The one I think we are considering from my research; Yamaha YAS280/480 or 62 if we can find a good used one(hard to find). Lebravo, Jupiter 1150 lineup or Selmer SAS180RM.....etc

Edit: She wont be using it for Marching band or school as she has a rental, this one will stay at home

Upgrading Putting grass

I'd like to upgrade my hitting mat to a descend putting green. It would be about 10ft X 10ft and add a putting hole just before the white screen(not installed yet) My hitting strip is a 1x3 fiberbuilt, I would cut into the new grass and make it flush. What are your guys using that looks nice but doesn't break the bank,? There is a Rymar grass supplier here, should I just pull the trigger on this?

Golf trip Cavendish area

Another PEI Golf thread. We already did Dundarave ,Brudenell & Crowbush so the next trip we are looking at 3 rounds between these 4 in the Cavendish area. Eagle Glenn, Glasgow Hills, Green Gable, Anderson. Out of the 4 which would be the top 2? we might have to skip one of them.

Wilson Iron Set upgrade.

Looking to upgrade from my beginner(17.5Hdp) set eventually. I have D9 which were fine for starting but now I'm looking for a more traditional lofted/higher spin, 7 iron around 31deg. All these are good deals. Draw shape/hook miss type of shot. I'll get fitted, I just want opinions.

All new ($CAN)

D9 Forged, older but a great deal, 2023ish $950

Dynapower Forged older gen 2024 $1,049

Staff Model CB $1,100 - These are more advanced.

Fade Bias Irons?

Is there such thing as Fade Bias irons, different type of weight distribution in the head, less offset..etc.. Similar to driver and fairway woods that can be have draw, square or fade bias as well. I understand swing mechanics and shot shaping " I should just work on my swing" I'm quite new to the golf world & equipment and wondering if that is a thing

What is your preferred swing path/club face with irons.

Golfer who has a nice consistent swing with irons, I'm wondering what is you ideal swing path & club face with launch direction. If you are playing a fade or a draw, Also where do you like the ball at address in your stance? and are they different for, lets say, a Pw, 9I & 5i.

I have a LM at home and have developed a bad hook with a really shallow swing. I understand what I have to work on but I'm curious to see what some of you are comfortable with for a swing.

My Ideal draw with a 7i would be launching right 1.5, in/out 3 and face 1.5. but sometimes I'm in/out 7deg or more. If I fade, only with long clubs, I'll be out/in 1.5 maybe 2 and face open 1 and I'll have the ball slightly forward in my stance(1 ball length from the middle). It's really hard for me to be over the top now.

Shaft stiffness and weight for fairway wood.

I broke my driver shaft the other day which was a HZRDUS smoke red 50G regular flex so I had to replace it. I already had a spare shaft that I bought just because it was on special, a HZRDUS black 75G regular flex. It's technically the same flex but it feels way stiffer than my 50g, probably because of the weight. Now all of a sudden my drives all way more consistent and straight, I played my first round with it and I don't think I had a bad drive. It made a huge difference in my confidence hitting off the tee.

Now I just bought a 4 wood with a regular flex (same length as a 3 wood). I can sometime have good shots and sometime I slice it. The shaft is too soft/whippy and I can't control the head at contact. I'm thinking buying a stiffer and heavier shaft to get similar result as the driver.

I'm not a high speed hitter. My ball speed with my driver is usually 130/140 mph and my 4 wood is usually 120/130mph range.

What does people play for fairway shafts?
