Hiro Diapers ...suck!
this is mostly just a PSA. As FTM with existential dread about climate change, I was so excited to discover Hiro Diapers (biodegradable, mushroom diapers that are supposed to break down diapers in 6 mos vs. 500 years for normal diapers). Put them on my registry and was lucky be gifted plenty.
TLDR: they are TERRIBLE.
My 5 day old newborn peed through every single Hiro diaper... and like a LOT, soaking himself, whoever was holding him, the stroller pad, etc. We tried at least 4 of them thinking that we had put them on wrong or something.
Also, I didn't clock this because I'm a FTM, but the company brags about how there is no "chemical blue" pee indicator line on them. But there's also no indicator line at all. So if he hadn't have peed through them, we'd have had no way to tell that he had peed in them? Terrible from a design perspective and also terrible from a functionality perspective.
Save your money people.
Now instead of a stockpile of environmentally-friendly diapers, I have a pile of unused consumerist trash, oh, the irony.
