This is a question which I hope causes no offence. I’m working in a largely Jewish area of London and something I always wondered is why do so many Jews drive those Toyota family vans usually the Alhambra.
I assume it’s a frugality thing and they are reliable and carry lots of people but apart from Jewish people they don’t seem to be a particularly popular car in the uk
So I work in compliance due to the nature of my role I have to wear a thick boiler suit and boots.
I have found the heat today terrible and difficult to manage, on Wednesday/Thursday whilst the red warning for extreme heat is in place should my employers cancel work ? In the event this happens should I be paid ?

So I’m from Ireland but live in England, I currently work for a large contractor under a utilities company.
Two years ago we got a contract for NI we have been sending people over from England to carry out works on a monthly basis, Due to growth we had aims of opening a Belfast based office which would have hired between 30-50 people all full time well paid jobs some of which would have been apprenticeships.
After last years riots there was a pause on this due to safety concerns and overall business purposes. Today I had a meeting regarding it as I was earmarked to run the Belfast operations, this was a great opportunity for me to move home progress my career and also hire local people all of which I was delighted about.
Had the meeting and our Belfast plans have been scrapped and we will continue to just travel over and back to carry out works, that’s my promotion on hold and decent jobs for the local community now won’t materialise.
My 4yo doodle got a tick bite near her eye, whilst removing it the head broke off. I’ve managed to tweeze 90% out and it has since healed over no swelling etc.
Dog seems fine normal behaviour and appetite tick was noticed and removed 48 hours ago.
Does she need a trip to the vet?
Hi so I’m worried my partner is pregnant, we already have an 18mo who is amazing!
We do want more children but with childcare costs etc not for at least 3 years.
My partner has said in the past she is against abortion (for her not other women’s rights to have one)
If she is pregnant do I discuss it with her and explain I think it may be for the best due to finances and our current situation, or could that put her under unnecessary pressure/stress.
I already know she wouldn’t want to terminate so I’m wondering if even suggesting it is wrong on my part?
