alright. what am i?

hey yall !! first time posting. sadly (or happily?) it’s one of those nights. the trans masc thoughts have once again returned. so i’m gonna just say my experience and yall say whatever i am alright?

i’ve always had this sense of “masculinity” every since i was a toddler, and always thought was my voice super deep (“why do i sound like a boy?”) and i thought that was cool !! i’ve just been socially attracted to guys and ALWAYS favored being friends with them over the girls, and that’s still kinda true today. over into my teens years i’ve started to act masculine, and (sorta) dress masculine (when i can sobs) and all the stuff. but sometimes i wanna present feminine and feel feminine but other times it gives me the ICK. i’ve just kinda conjured this as genderfluid or something but idk.

TALLY HALL HOT TAKE

i’m glad they broke apart. in this day and age musically (also how stuff is now) i feel like they would suffer. i could see them having a very 2020 ish fandom (which they do now, but i believe it would be WORSE if they were still active.)

tally hall was just so whimsical in the early 2010s/late 2000s and i can’t see them thriving today.

i can definitely preface this more if you have a question but yeah,,

(edit)

i wasn’t talking abt just the fandom that was just an example, i was more leaning towards “they just wouldn’t fit in“ music wise, although they would be popular

let me ask this: “if you discovered tally hall now, and they were still making music, would you like them as much?” (again, comparing them to popular artists such as like noah kahan or something idk)

good day - 2005. sounds similar to the 2008 ver but i like aesthetic of 2005 more

greener - 2008. 2005 sounds legit the same then the 2008 ver but i like the beginning of 2008 better

wtth - 2005. the stereo sonic verse of the 2005 ver is PEAK and i like the guitar that follows, the 2008 is more full though.

taken for a ride - 2005 BY A MILLION MILES. I REALLY LIKE ANDREWS VOICE AT THE BEGINNING SO MUCHHHHHHH (number one fan of tfar 2005 ver TRUST)

the bidding - 2008. i admit, 2005 has a nice sound and sounds more “rock” which is SUPER cool. the humming at the beginning of 2005 throws me off.

be born - 2008. i swear that it’s the same song in both versions. be born isnt THAT bad, and im fond of it but idk

banana man - 2005. i like the announcer whatever in the beginning a lot

just apathy - 2008. this is my least fav on mmmm in general but it has an edu sound in 2005 which is.. ok? i don’t fancy edu. (it’s fine it’s just not my style)

spring and a storm - 2008. the 2005 ver is more “quiet?” it’s not as soulful as the 2008 ver

two wuv - 2008. this is my favorite mmmm song and the louder drums in 2005 is just very overstimulating

haiku - 2008. there’s “something” that the 2005 ver is missing.

the whole world and you - 2005. i like the piano at the beginning but it largely sounds the same

13 + Ruler of Everything - 2005. the beginning of RoE (and 13) sounds better to me

hidden in the sand. - 2005. it gives me major hawaii pt ii vibes and the waves are louder which is nice
