Black plastic storage tote bins - the kind with the sloping sides - waste a bit of space both inside and out. I have a small garage so I built this mother of all cubbies to hold these specific double strength cardboard boxes (15"w13"h19"). My garage is heated, no cars go inside, and is pretty clean so I'm not worried about the cardboard falling apart. Not for everybody I know but me for this is working and it's space efficient AF. Heavy stuff on bottom row. Top row has supplies that will get inspected regularly but are off the rotation list. Random garage stuff in middle rows. I'm not a carpenter so my dado shelf joints did not line up anywhere close to perfect- mostly because I used a circular saw and saw horses - so for edge banding I masked it with painters tape. Not all of the boxes are full and a few are empty but if this timeline spawns a bartertown near me in the future I have enough stuff here to trade for maybe a pony.

The USS Richmond K. Turner (CG-20) found an adrift passive radar decoy, Iranian made, broken free from its intended port defense role. Captain John D. Luke authorized some of the crew to open fire and have a fun target practice event shooting at a thing about 50 feet high from a few hundred yards away. The small arms fire of course did nothing. Our 25mm rounds put some holes in it, and we left it behind to continue on our patrol. The CIWS Phalanx rounds were too valuable to expend. (3 photos)

40 years later and I still can't decide which I hated more; those stupid dungarees, or having to iron those stupid dungarees. There's a lot to look at in this pic. I see (and now remember) a distinct lack of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles.. just ketchup and mustard. And a cold pop. On the nonskid.
